On RPG.net, Ethan Skemp of WW (not speaking for WW) commented this on the Mike Mearls thread. link
The philosophy behind using specific names like "Golden Wyvern" would be a lot better received if it were a more euphonic and descriptive term, I betcha. Right now it's got just a bit too much of the "Find a term nobody else is likely to have used before in order to establish clear IP" ring to it. Something that rolled off the tongue a bit better (two words that end in downbeats and the very neutral "n" sound? Not jazzy) would be less distracting.
(Yes, I am mulling over things like meter and consonant selection in a two-word name. I do these things. Don't you judge me.)
I gotta admit, I love the meter/consonant commentary.

The need to establish a clear IP is almost certainly one of the strongest motivating factors behind many of the conceptual and nomenclature changes in 4E.
Interesting, and I think accurate, opinion.
My sense is that WotC is consolidating their hold on all things D&D, and is trying to squeeze out other publishers. I feel this so strongly that I was literally shocked upon discovering they intended to release an SRD.
Not to get all conspiracy-theory, but I might add that no one's actually seen an SRD.
Regards :)

...hehe..."Golden Wyvern Adept"...I'd bet money that if anyone did some serious searching, they could already find this in some anime/manga out there. Stringing a verb, noun and adjective together in some way just REEKS of americanized anime. Can't you just see a blue haired, effiminant 'guy' with purple eyes and a sword that looks like it weighs about 350lb jumping up into the air as those 'flash-lines' whizz by, screaming "GOLDENNNNN WYVERRRNNNN ADEPT!" as he slashes downward? C'mon...4e is starting to scream 'cheap anime' more and more.

Which Exalted is already doing better.

I hope (pray?) it's more than anime moves. While I don't plan to get 4th, I want the franchise to succeed.
Really I'm hoping that the names work more like the swordfighting styles in the Princess Bride.
*fireball goes off, toasting the necromancer's goblins but leaving the fighter intact.*
"Necromancer arcs an eyebrow and sends to the wizard* "ah, you are a Master of the Golden Wyvern school."
"No, just a humble student."
"I suppose you expect me to counter with Basilisk's Gaze, considering the rocky terrain." *Necromancer casts a spell, causing a number of medium earth elementals to rise from the ground.*
"Naturally, but I find Purifying Rain style cancels out Basilisk's Gaze, don't you?" *Wizard casts transmute rock to mud, the elementals start to disolve*
"Unless one has studied Alchemist's Centerfuge." *Necromancer claps his hands and the muddy elementals split into a mix of small water and earth elementsls.* "Which I have."

This didn't shock me. I don't remember how Mona put it, but it was something to the effect that 5E probably won't be OGL and 4E is the transitional between the two. (Or at least I think it was Mona that said it. It might be something he said that lead me to think that. I don't know.)

Awesome.

<applauds>
God, I love that scene.

I suppose I should add:
Wizard grunts as rays scorch him "I admit it you are better than me."
Necromancer smiles, moving in for the kill, "Then why are you smiling?"
Wizard smiles as a rod slides from his sleeve into his hand, "I am not 4th edition." *Quickened sudden empowered sudden maximized polar ray, followed by Power Word, Kill.*
