"That would seem to confirm some of our findings at the gravesite," muses Etellio. "From all indications someone or something other than goblins was involved in the raid on Sandpoint."
"Someone provided a ladder over the wall to assist the goblins in getting into the cemetary and possibly the town itself." Etellio is focused on the elven maid as he speaks.

Targ the Unwieldy |

Targ gulps his ale and nods sagely as the elven ranger speaks, occasionally interjecting comments like "Yep", "got that right", and "Damn straight!"
When she finishes, he adds, "It all makes sense then. Like Etellio says, the goblins at the cathedral had help, possibly from an elf - no disrespect, ma'am - and something about this 'raid' has been bugging me all day. It was too damn organized. It sure sounds like someone's got 'em riled up."
Targ addresses Shalelu. "So what's the next step? What's the biggest tribe in the area? Where's their lair? Sounds to me like that should be our first stop."
Targ shakes a handful of goblin teeth in his fist. "At this rate, I'm gonna need a new belt."

Szaranoth |

"That might also depend on the amount of ale yer quaffing, eh?" adds Szaranoth sheepishly, while sipping on his own mug.
"But kidding aside. Our duty is to the people of Sandpoint. I would suggest investigating the tribes in the surroundings after the town has been secured and another attack from goblins is highly unlikely. I am still not sure, if the danger from them has passed completely."

Ingowil |

The elven ranger, sleek in her leather, explains:
“Belor’s told me of your work against the goblins—well done. I’ve dedicated the last several years of my life to keeping them from causing too much trouble around these parts, but they’re tenacious and fecund little runts. Like weeds that bite.
“Anyway, there’s five major goblin tribes in the region, and, traditionally, they’re pretty good at keeping each other in line with intertribal squabbles and the like. Yet from what I’ve been able to piece together, members of all five tribes were involved in the raid on Sandpoint.
“In any event, the fact that the five tribes are working together disturbs me. Goblin tribes don’t get along unless they’ve got something big planned, and big plans require big bosses. I’m afraid that someone’s moved in on the goblins and organized them. And judging by these recent raids, what they’re organizing seems like bad news for all of us.”
"That is bad news." Ingowil says with a sigh, unhappy that there are more goblins. "Maybe we should set up a watch, just to make sure we are ready if anything happens."

Etellio |

"So do we follow Miss Shalelu into the woods and chase after one of the chieftans - maybe get some answers? Or do we reinforce the town somehow - do you have enough forces to do so?," Etellio asks while munching on the dried fruit. His question is directed at everyone, but he looks specifically at the Mayor and Sheriff for suggestions.

Grael looks grave. "And there is no idea who this leader is?"
"Can't say who exactly is leading these goblins. Though I suspect anyone of the following is the likely leader:
Big Gugmut, an unusually muscular and tall goblin.
Koruvus, the Champion of the Seven Tooth Tribe, extremely violent and short-tempered.
Ripnugget, the leader of the Thistletop goblins.
Bruthazmus, a bugbear.
Vorka, a cannibal."

"There are five tribes who live near Sandpoint:
Birdcruncher, they leave near the western edge of the Devil's Platter.
Licktoads, they live in Brinestump Marsh.
Seven Tooth, they live Shank's Wood.
Mosswood, they are the likely the largest and they leave further East.
Thistletop, they live along the Nettlewood Coast atop a small island."

"Damn straight!" Exclaims Sheriff Belor. "You guys should not go galivanting out of the wilderness while I'm off to get reinforcements and leave this town defenseless. The goblins would just love that. Imagine them putting one over us. Unthinkable."

The mayor joins the sheriff's vehement objection, "The safety of the people of Sandpoint is paramount. We'll launch an offensive once we are secure here and not before."

Been a very busy week for me guys. Next week is going to be worse. Please bear with me. Thank you.
No worries, mate. I can't speak for everyone, but we're taking a pretty casual pace - and that's OK for the most part. Compared to Heathy's Saltmarsh campaign, which I'm in, it's made for a different experience.

"Sounds like we have lot of things to consider then, and we'll need to do so while we wait for the Sheriff's return." Etellios looks to see what the others have to say, only adding: "I don't know about all of you, but I could use some brandy, food and rest if it can be spared."
Assuming we are closing in on the end of one loooong day.

I'm in Kruel's 2 pbp; a different pace also.

"Ale, food, and rest in that order," Targ agrees. "And perhaps some healing for me, if I can find it. Back to the Rusty Dragon then?"
Targ turns to the elf. "Mistress Shalelu, care to join us? You can tell us more about these gobbos over a pint."
"Yes, and maybe you have some more clues that would help us out a bit." Ingowil says to Shalelu.

The much delayed update.
You emerge out of the Sheriff's office feeling exultant that at least someone recognized your contribution to the community. The elf ranger Shalelu accompanies those of you who are headed for the Rusty Dragon. She trades goblin lore with Targ.
For Those Who Care To Listen on Shalelu's Discussion for at least 1 hour
Meanwhile, Szaranoth bids the rest of you a short fare thee well as he heads for the White Deer. He promises he'll meet up with the rest of you in the Rusty Dragon.
Will add other posts later; for the meantime, back to work. Overseer sees lowly subordinate and cracks whip.

Will add other posts later; for the meantime, back to work. Overseer sees lowly subordinate and cracks whip.
Etellio goes to the bar during upon their arrival, ordering some brandy - hopefully to everyone's taste. He offers a small toast to a job well done; old friends now gone; and new friends made in battle.
He'll remain interested in Shalelu's conversation, partially out of an interest in knowing more for his travels, but also out of a bit of fascination over the elven woman.
Sorry to hear that man - I saw the news about a ferry disaster due to the storms. Take care.

Szaranoth |

Szaranoth walks through the town tinted in the colors of the dusk to the building of the White Deer Inn. The inn is three stories high, the ground floor made of stone and the upper floors of wood, and looks fairly new. A pair of life-sized white deer, carved from white birch, frame the entrance to the house.
That's what I call style. Szaranoth thinks to himself and enters the building.
From here on it will be spoilered

For those in the Rusty Dragon
Despite the day's events the Rusty Dragon is packed with customers. It is clear that your endeavors have saved a lot of lives.

Targ the Unwieldy |

Targ listens with interest to Shalelu's stories, interjecting questions and adding points from his own experience as well. He toasts with Etellio, and offers up another toast to the fallen, particularly Sanjuro. He then focuses on drinking ale, grimacing every now and again when he forgets about his wounds. When the chicken is brought over, he tucks in greedily, talking around mouthfuls of chicken.
"Looks like the rumors I heard were right. 'Goblins in Sandpoint,' they said. And that there certainly are. The question is, who is it that's helping 'em? And what's next for us? Just stay in town and wait for the next attack?"

Etellio |

"Sounds like the Mayor wants to be around until the sheriff gets back with reinforcements. Maybe once he does, Miss Shalelu can help us get a track on these buggers...that bugbear she mentioned makes me think he might be in-charge, or at least a big commander. I can't imagine those wicked beasts taking orders from goblins."

For Szaranoth
A snotty looking usher notices you and asks if he can help you. By the tone of voice that the man uses, he implies that you have no business being there by the way you are clothed.

Meanwhile back at the Rusty Dragon, the owner, Ameiko, can be seen making the rounds and talking to customers. She is accompanied by the same man in armor you saw the night before.
Etellio fails to notice anything; he's more interested in the woman for the free meal.

Ingowil looks over at the armored man, slightly puzzled. Why wouldn't he carry any weapons? She thinks to herself, it isn't safe with recent goblin attacks.
She shrugges her shoulders, and turns back to her mead.

For Szaranoth
A few minutes later, Libay arrives. "Hello. I hear that you are quite the hero." Libay motions to a waiter. "A bottle of your finest."
