Fael |

Fael wanders around town for a while, trying to get her bearings, and fiddling around with her holy symbol. She's not afraid, and shows it, but she seems a little bemused.
As she passes the large, well-armored Coppertop, she comments, "You're very shiny," in strangely-accented common.
She starts to walk on, then stops, and since he looks like he belongs here, she asks, "Is there a good inn here? I don't want...um... bugs? in my bed."
She continues to look at him with her over-large blue eyes.

blackleaf of the Mierani forest |

Blackleaf nods to the smiling man.The black and white tattooed elf was not used to such things among the city folk he had meet in his travels. He had fit in best among the tattooed sailors but even among them he had stood out.Even many among them had been but off by his size.Towns people were most often put off by his fierce look and the fact that his ax was rally slung or holster but carried most times
'This place' he thinks to himself 'might be worth a better look

You all will have to forgive me. One, I've never had to write background or physical description of my charter before. Two, I'm not very good at this type of thing anyway. I can form a story in my head, but have a hard time putting it into words.
So hear goes..
Talam had an unsual life growing up. Sold as a slave, at a young age, to Frerdick Shaleif. Shaleif brought Talam to his home not as a slave, but as one of the family. Talam, as his new mother called him, was taught by some of the finest tutors in the area. He quickly grew to love his human family.
The Shaleifs opposed slavery, but in a city like Korvosa it was hard to do in public. The Shaleifs bought slaves and freed them later. They also secretly launched raids against slavers in the area. That was until one night. That night Fredrick and others returned from a successful night, when a knock came at the door. As soon as the door opened three men entered, all of them wearing red chitin armor. Before anything could be said Talam's mother was impaled on a serated blade. The man how appeared to the of the "Men-in-Red", ordered his men to search the house and leave no surrivors. As on of them approached Talam his father drew his blade, "Run, run your free son", where the last words Talam heard as he ran for safety.
It wasn't long til a "Manin-Red" found him finding the shed, but Talam was ready. As the man pulled Talam from hiding, he struck. The sickle blinded the man, as blood ran from his eyes.
It's been five years since than, but Talam remembers it like it was last night. Since then he's left Korvosa, trying to find a place in the world. He never forgets the "Men-in-Red", and is always looking over his shoulders. Worried for the day they come for him.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & PERSONALITYTalam stands 3'4" and weighs 38 pounds, Quite tall and mucled by halfing standard. His long dirty-blond blond hair is braided, and is in need of being washed, if not trimmed aswell. Though the clothes on his back are tattered and worn, he cares himself as though he were a noble.
Talam is quite person and may come off bit grim, but those how know him well know him aa a big mouth and show off.

1) Are we allowed Devotion feats from Complete Champion? (and in fact, what source books are allowed?)
2) I'm assuming we get a bonus regional feat, do they have to come from RotL only, or can we take one from CotCT (not that I probably will, just asking. Harrowed might be fun.)
3) Do we get max starting gold, and if so, soes anyone know that the max for a favored soul is?
Max gold-go with 200 gp
I have most of the books so go ahead and use whatever.Use free feat from RotL

I’d like to take a moment to send a shout out and a tip of the hat to Cry Havoc! just case he ever wanders over and checks out what going on in this little game he created. I appreciate you starting this group and you are in my thoughts and prayers often. I hope you can feel a sense of pride in what you started. :D
And a shout out and tip of the hat to Zoo for taking over the DM role. You are doing a great job. Thanks!

Death to goblins!
PS I like the new avatar, Zoo.
Thanks! I thought it was time for a change! I saw some really cool artwork that will be coming out in the future from Paizo at the con, yes we got to see the sneak peaks first, haha, so I might be changing again when they come out. Lets just say the drow looked bad ass!!!!

Hey, all.
In case you didn't catch it, I'm still in school, and tests are coming up. The Internet is far too good at entertaining and distracting me, so I'm going to attempt to stay as far away from it as I can for about two weeks.
Sorry if this poses problems. I'm hoping that I'll be able to pop on and post (over the weekends, most likely), but I will be pretty scarce until then.
I posted a little summary of what I'll try to do in the combat over on the IC thread. And Blackleaf, I do sincerely hope that I didn't mess things up for you. :P
So long for now, and happy gaming!

ummmm.... end of surprise, beginning of real initiative, coppertop at the bottom of the initiative chart? Perhaps a bit excited about the opportunity to whack goblins, but dude... wait your turn. Everyone, leterally everyone (including little old ladies and Tiny Tim "God Bless us, every one!") get to go before you.

Coppertop |

I need init and attack rolls from everyone at this point!
And
Here is the init order for combat. We will start the first round as soon as we finish the surprise round here shortly. Go ahead though and post your actions for round one so we can keep things going!
And
And so ends the surprise round. First round will start later today. If you have not made your attack rolls or stated your actions for this round please do so now.
So I thought I Zoo wanted us to go ahead and make our rolls ahead of time. Sorry if I stepped out of line.

Totally non game related question.
My wife has a favor to ask.
Hello. My name is Jackie Scarborough. My husband, Russell, has been playing online D & D games with you for quite some time. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. One of my classes this semester is Advanced Multiculturalism. One assignment/project that I have to complete within the next few weeks is an Immersion Project. For this assignment I have to collect information (in various ways) on a culture that I have not been exposed to in any great quantity. I have chosen to investigate the culture of D & D.
One way I would like to collect information is through a dialogue composed of several questions.
If you wouldn’t mind helping her please click here.

Guys, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to bow out of this game. I just have too much on my plate right now.
Aw, say it ain’t so! I was really looking forward to having Coppertop take on a “big brother” type role with Fael. You know, taking huge risk to protect the “child” even though you and I both know she is more than capable of taking care of herself. I understand though. Maybe you can play again some time when things have slowed down for you in RL.

Mr. Jason |

Sorry to hear that, Stunty. Hope you can keep up your work and still have fun!
And to answer your question, Zoom, I'm not going to Gen Con... I definitely wish I was though.
On an unrelated note, has anyone else been having trouble accessing the Paizo site recently? I'm wondering if it's my browser...

Well the Downtown Marriot in Kansas City bites. No free internet anywhere in the hotel.
Yeah that is how most Marriott's are from the ones I have been too and work at. I get to stay cheap at all Marriott's because I work for them but I always have to search out a free wi-fi spot when I travel which is kinda of a pain. I think but I might be wrong but the Courtyards by Marriott's all have free internet.
Now some of the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott have free wi-fi which is why I choose it for Gen Con, it is out at the airport but its only going to cost me $35 a night being an employee!

Wow, major apologies all around for disappearing for a week there. I ended up going to a week long government simulation in central Virginia, and after several last-minute scheduling changes and misunderstandings I ended up having to run out the door before I could post and explain where I'd be.
Sorry if I've caused concern! And now, to the game thread!
