Aerianna begins running away , looking for a safe place as Lucienne starts picking her way towards the fat man which she successfully does. The Fat man however seems to have been waiting for this and attempts to deliver a massive backhand at the presumptious wench, revealing the heavy brass knuckles that now decorate his fist, Lucienne takes 4 damage.

Kegi darts and dodges, his arrows striking true, as his former assailents fall to the ground screaming in pain.

romulus opens up with a torrent of fire as he finally recollects himself, Neatly toasting two assailents as well as nearly singeing his teammates.

More men shove forward, bloodlust having taken over things now, and the dandy also surges forward ignoring the girl that is infront of the magic item collector (lucienne) and closing on with Kegi, with a grimmace.

Althought the mages are quickly surronded, they emerge unscathed. The Men are ignoring Lucienne and a group of 4 take after the runner Aerianne who is soon tripped and knocked soundly about the head with a brutal fist (AoO if you want it , please make an attack against dc 16 or be prone, and take 9 non lethal damage from a crit with a fist)

The Dandy surges forward at Kegi, striking out like a snake at not kegi but his footing, ( Make an attack against dc 17 or be prone )

The Fat Man strikes out again at lucienne, missing what should have been a fight ending blow and mutering about curses under his breath.

Akallahbeth lets loose a flurry of arcane colours, knocking down several of the assailents

SITREP: About Half of the Assailents are down, as are about half of you are. The Attackers look uncertain but the bosses seem certain of victory or at the very least of dying trying. Also im doing some of the trip mechanics backstage, if you wanna see the full deal make a request ooc

Feel Free to ask other questions, just wanted you to understand where things are roughly

Spot Check DC 10

Spoiler:
Maddock has collapsed to the ground, you don't know why

Edit, wowowowow who posts next gets 500 xp

Lucienne attacks the Fat Man.

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3+ 1d6 = 25
Roll to Confirm Critical: 1d20 + 3 = 17 (I assume that the Action Point doesn't apply to the Conf. Roll)
Damage = 14

Apparently, she attacks him hard.

Deeming the Fat Man to be the greatest threat, I hurl a curse to sap his strength, taking care not to let my guard down:

Concentration Check 1d20+7=25

Ranged Touch Attack and Ray of Enfeeblement Damage to Fat Man (1d20+4=16, 1d6+1=5)

Wiping away the tears of shame that are pouring out of my eyes, I step back and look around to assess the situation.

Spot Check (1d20+4=15)

I see Maddock fall, "Nooooooooo!"

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Seeing Maddock collapse for no apparent reason, Akallabeth glares at his remaining assailant, flames visible in his eyes as well as covering his body.

"Last chance. Get down. STAY down, or die!"

SLowly so he doesn't draw an attack, he waves the flames through another pattern in the air. He steps to the side and shoves his hand though it again, releasing another wave of rainbow colored sheets of flame covering his last opponent and catching the ones who were threatening Maddock.

Akallabeth's concentration check: (1d20+8=26)

Casting Color Spray again. 2 =1st lvl spells left.

The Dandy swings at my legs as I leap back to keep some separation beteen us. Try to remain standing (DC 17) (1d20+10=17)OK!

"Nice of ye ta come out an' play with us, pretty boy. I shoulda shot you earlier, but it makes no matter ta me."

Again, I'll tumble away and fire twice...
Tumble away from Dandy (DC 15) (1d20+11=22) Attack Dandy w/

1d6+2=7, 1d6+2=8, 1d6=3)
So hit AC 25 for 10 and AC 12 for another 8.

How far is Kegi and the Dandy from my current position?

check the ooc thread

Aerianna tries to keep a low profile as she creeps positions herself so that she's facing a thug who's back is turned. Quickly moving up behind him she taps him on the shoulder "Oh soldier." she says in a high voice and when he turns she slams the truncheon into his face. "Sucker." she mutters, eyeing the fight and looking for an opening.
Provided I can do that, Attack 15 (10+5) Damage 8 (6+2) and on the off chance I get Sneak Attack another 4 (4+0). Sorry about not using IC but it seems to be down.

Lucienne, after recieving a backhand, smoothly maces the fat guy, a loud and disgusting krack of a skull breaking and parting under the blow is heard and the fat and seemingly boneless form of the fatman collapses.

Aerienne attempts to fight back against the four assailents , but falls prone and is swiftly punched and beated upon (you either didn't roll your trip attack or it failed either way you get pulled down)

Kegi strikes out, avoiding the dandies attack and striking back knocking the dandy on his ass with a pair of arrows sticking out his chest, The Dandy coughs up a little blood.

The Mages hurl respective spells, quickly winnowing down the masses with their massive arcane might.

Everyone hears a slightly high pitched and gaspy sound as the dandy attempts to shout retreat, drawing the attention of everyone. Most of the bullyboys leave (those who can) althought a few give aerienne a few last kicks for good luck, (3 more subdual) .

The Dandy , soon the only one left coughs up a little more blood, as says in a gaspy voice, "You wanted some information , I got some ... for you...."

Spot DC 16

Spoiler:
Anyone who passes this check sees the dandy palm something out of his belt pouch, Not a weapon , something small maybe a vial or a trinket

Not so much with the spot check.

Lucienne turns to Romulus with the Cure Light Wounds wand. "Fli'et." 1d8 + 1 = 2. "Fli'et." 1d8 + 1 = 7.

The Dandy looks at you , lucienne and says "I wouldn't do that again if you want to live" Cough Cough Splurt

Lucienne turns to the Dandy. "Why not, m'lord?"

Akallabeth's SPOT check: (1d20 3=11)

I didn't see nuthin'!

Akallabeth, apparently recovered from his earlier self-doubts, strides quickly over to help Arianna to her feet, and then goes over to the form of Maddock lying on the ground. He begins to examine him, trying to see what happened, and if he is alright.

"Yes, please enlighten us goodsir. WHY, exactly, should we 'not do that if we want to live'?"
Akallabeth asks as he slowly rises from Maddock's unmoving form, his usually pleasant face set in a determined scowl. "And while your at it, what happened to our friend? I didn't see any of you cast any spells. Start talking, and maybe the lady can be convinced to use her wand to help you."

As the others talk to the Dandy, I make my way around the battlefield collecting shot arrows from the corpses of the less fortunate. Making my way back to the group, I stop short and eye the Dandy appraisingly.

"It seems ye 'ave something of mine an' I'd like it back," I say while absently spinning an arrow on my fingertip before sliding it into my quiver. "This may sting a little." I move to yank the arrows out of his gut causing no doubt a look of panic to cross his face as he tries to edge away, a thin stream of blood marking his path on the ground.

"Well if ye wants ta keep 'em, I can let ye 'ave 'em for a price, I suppose. What say ye answer our questions an' be quick about it."

Forgot to roll it, sorry bout that.
Aerianna stands, wincing from her many injuries, and begins to search the battlefield for anything of use, be it a clue or a weapon she's more familiar with than the truncheon.
Search 13 (9+4), Spot 8 (4+4)

Akallabeth picks up the dandy's rapier as Kegi 'retrieves' his arrows. He manages not to smile, but you can see he's thinking about it.

"Aerianna" He says, "Perhaps you can make use of this?" He holds out the Dandy's weapon. "I don't think he's gonna need it for a while."

"Well? You said you had information. I'm still waiting goodsir." Akallabeth states slowly. Like the calm before the storm.

"Thank you." Aerianna says as she takes the proferred weapon and examines it.
Anythinge special about it?
She swings it experimentally a few times and nods in satysfaction a she picks up a good looking dagger from amongst the bodies.

The Dandy smiles, blood running down onto his chest.

Lucienne kneels down next to the Dandy. "For what it's worth, I'm sorry it came to this. I warned you in the bar that your stubbornness would lead to pain and injury, and I wish things could have resolved more to everyone's benefit.

"I would heal you, if you wished it. But why would that bring doom upon me?"

The Dandy continues his smile, "Because I have a vial of ice storm ... in my hand, and if you all do something ... i don't like i have a mind ... to use it."

The wretched splurty sound of laughing emerges from his chest, along with a breathy "Heal Me".

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Akallabeth narrowed his gaze as the Dandy managed to gasp his ultimatum. Then he relaxed into a small, tight, smile as he saw which hand the dandy was referring to.

"Well, I must say that sounds very generous, six lives in exchange for saving one." Akallabeth shrugged. "Sounds fair to me, what do you think Lucienne? He hands you the vial, and you heal his wounds?"

He then looks at the Dandy. "And it doesn't matter if you trust me or not." He says pleasantly, with no hint of a threat. "I couldn't heal you if I tried. But this is the second time in under an hour that YOU have tried to kill US. And I think that the young lady with the curative magic would like SOME sign that WE can trust YOU. So what do you say goodsir? You hand her the vial to prove that you won't try to kill us the instant your better, and she saves your life. Sound fair?"
He asks, waiting expectantly.

I was going to 'ready an action' to grab the arm/hand with the vial if it looks like he might break it, but then realized that would be a Grapple, which the caster stinks at. :P

The dying man grasps "The Hells I will... you monsters... would as soon stick... an arrow in... or out hahaha. ... of me as look at me... Heal me I walk away... Dont try nuttin...its fragile..."

I tell the Dandy, "I guess you have us beat. Couldn't blame you for resorting to blackmail. Of course, you not knowing any information about the King and all that. I don't suppose you'd also like a nice set of clean clothes to go along with your life. Blood and all that. Look even that vial is covered unsightly bloodstains. What say you give that vial over here so we can have you cleaned and healed up? We'll return the vial afterwards."

I do hope he really is a dandy.

Lucienne looks at her companions, and then at the dying Dandy. No one's told him 'no'. Neither will she.

"Why, sirrah, do you call us 'monsters'? We have dealt with you, with all of you, with fair intent and, if not complete honesty", she ponders, fingering her mask, "then, at the least without deception. And, in this, with greater kindness than you merit.

"As Twilight dims her heav'nly dome, the stars come out to wink.
A tiny light against the night. And such the draught you drink."

Little bursts of light dance over his wounds. That Cure Minor Wounds. He's stablized.

She looks up. "The test is done. Show yourself, o king."

The Dandy sneers at you as he struggles to stand, " heal me again or we will all be sleeping with the dead kings and queens tonight , I'll be damned if I let some outsiders ruin all my planing."

He Seems to be ignoring the question about who is the monster, althought for him outsider seems to be more or less the same thing.

As the others converse with the Dandy, I circle him idly. I'm looking for an opportunity to grapple him. I think I can take him - at least long enough to get the vial away. I would probably survive an ice storm, but I don't know about the rest of you...

As the Dandy is completely lost in his fear, I imitate Kegi and move out of the Dandy's field of vision.

Lucienne sighs, stands, and takes a step away from him, putting away the wand of healing.

"That won't do, I'm afraid. Even if your ice storms are real, you can't make us do anything. You can only kill us if we don't. And it appears now that your threats will go on and on, for as long as we let them.

"If you want our cooperation, you'll need to pay for it. And the coin is information.

"Or you could run straight to the hobgoblins if you like. See how well they take to your threats."

Tears cry down the dandy's face, heavy wretched sobs as he looks up at you balefully, " You already know everything you need to, the only way out is death, let me show you the way."

The Cracking Sound of Glass comes, as a fury of snow, hail, ice and sleet erupt from the dandies hand

Everyone Please Take, 11 Bludgeoning Damage and 9 Cold Damage no Save.

As the Ice and Snow melt uncannily Fast, you survey the damage, the dandy is dashed about and blackened, broken in places and obviously dead.

Lucienne has Resistance to Cold 5, but that doesn't help when she has 1 hp remaining. (She never healed from the mob attack.) She's dead. Good bye.

I survey the ruin that has become my former companions. The girl appears dead. Likely "Rags" is on his way out, too. I am badly wounded, but thanks to my unnatural state, still alive. I drink both my healing potions.

HP before ice storm = 16. Ice Storm takes me down to -4, but thanks to Shifter Ferocity, I don't lose conciousness. 2 potions of CLW (just taking the average) gives me +11 hp, so I'm at 7. This is all not counting the new level.

Then I make my way to Romulus and see if I can staunch his bleeding or at least ease his suffering.

untrained heal check to stabilize. Rolling by hand 19+4 = 23. His condition in check, I rifle his belongings looking for his healing potions. I am 99% sure he has them. Otherwise, I've really just screwed up. Once I find them, I adminster them.

"Sorry, Rom, but ye ain't dead yet! Let's see 'bout th' others!"

Aerianna collapses under a storm of hail and lands, unconcious and bleeding, on the unforgiving ground.
Now at -5hp.

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Akallabeth's eyes go wide as he hears the breaking glass. He throws himself to the side, but it is too late,...

If there is no save, I am at -4HP

(A reminder: unconscious characters can spend an Action Point to stabilize.)

Kegi's ears perk up as he hears the ground crunch behind him, it is the barman , that big brute who wears an almost cringing face. He's wringing something that looks like a seldom wore officious hat in his hand.

"Lad, would you accept a hand from someone who couldn't do what he should have to begin with" Pointing to lucienne's dead body he continues " Her mother will be coming down soon, and that's going to cause a whole slew of events that you need to be on top of if your going to leave this place in anything other than the religious way" the man places a small crate of potions on the ground, saying " these will stabilize them, and we can move them inside,"

Standing silently, the big brute of a man gentle nestles his way to the frostbitten and smashed remains of his kin, and gentle picking them up leads up to behind the city hall, where a small graveyard-cum-masoleum waits and behind that a hallway leading to what passes for growing crops around here.

(Kegi finds the cure light, that Romulus has on his sheet but he is already stabilized vis heal check. Anyone who does not spend an action point to stabilize please consult the following table for the next round survival

Spoiler:
Aerienna, loose 1 hp, Romulus ALREADY STABILIZED, Akallabeth Loose 1 hp, The next person i forgot if any Loose 1 hp.

I eye the barman suspiciously, but it seems I have no choice. I give a potion each to Akallabeth and Aerianna. 2 clws (1d8 1=2, 1d8 1=4) So they are both stable, but probably not concious. As gently as possible, I drag them both into the tavern. Then, after catching my breath, I carry in Lucienne's remains and (with tremendous effort, no doubt) haul whatever is left of Maddock into the bar as well. Once I have everyone as comfortable as possible, I take the liberty of a little inventory. If I find any more healing potions, I administer them to try to revive someone. If the first potion I gave him did not get Rom back on his feet, I will give the next extra to him. That should get him back up. The other two are both around -3, I think, so one more potion apiece should revive them, too. Are there enough potions to do all that?

A potion each will get them up and in the positives, althought their is only 4 potions in the little crate. (7, 7 , and 9 hp respectively for each cure light from the bundle)

The Barkeep returning, quickly gets the injured palleted in the back as he lays out something akin to a wake for Lucienne. After that is done, he is quickly dealing with the thugs bodies, which he takes much less care with, seemingly dumping them in a manure pile behind the Inn.

The Bay of Trumpets can be heard clashing at angles down the corridors. Obviously someone is coming.

I wake up and feel all the nerves of my body vying for attention.

I think I'm presently at 1 hp.

I'm still alive. But why? I lost my nerve out there. I'm a coward.

"Kegi, is everyone alright?"

I am assuming Kegi is nearby when Romulus wakes up.

"No, they are not. Lucienne be dead. Akalabeth and Aerianna be restin'. Maddock, I don't know. I think he be dead, too. We be back in the bar. Yon barman has given us some curative that has revieved ye and th' others. But for what purpose, I know not."

Hearing the trumpets, I move away from the injured and stand in the middle of the room, facing the door.

I'm assuming we are in the common room of the tavern and that tables and chairs and whatnot have been cleared from the common area. Lucienne and Maddock's bodies are comfortably off to one side of the room and the other injured PCs are resting on pallets or straw off to one side.

Everyone who isn't dead is in the backroom at the barkeeps insistance, arranged around the smallish storeroom in back now that is serving as an infirmy. The Dead (Lucienne and Maddock) are up front and the tables and such are cleared away. The Sounds of a procession are coming closer..., If you attempt to stand in the front of the bar the barkeep will swish you away, showing you how you can watch from the backroom , unnoticed if your attentive.

Watching from the backroom.
Spot; Listen; Hide (1d20 8=28, 1d20 8=27, 1d20 11=30)

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Sorry late post, pre Mardi Gras madness here,...

Akallabeth felt cold, and yet comfortable. It would be so easy to just relax. But somewhere deep down, he knew that would be wrong. There was something he still had to do,...

Spend 1 AP to stabilize, If Kegi still gives me a potion, that +7 HP would put me at +3? and therefore awake, if in a lot of pain?

Akallabeth regains consciousness, and a familiar if blurry face swims into view. "Kegi?" He mumbles blurrily, "Whas goin' on? Wha happen'?"

That would be correct

Hearing the plain words of Kegi that Lucienne is dead, tears suddenly started pouring from my eyes. I can only think of how Lucienne helped me pull myself together during the last fight.

Spending an AP to stabilize. I'm now at -5 and stable.

The Peal of trumpets lifts up suddenly in a buoyant and triumphant sound, before ending suddenly.

A young women, baring a striking resemblance to Lucienne walks into the room. Her Ice Cold look is perfected by flawless white skin and icy blue eyes. Her revealing dress drapes and clings to her perfect form, a light sky blue contrasting the white skin , as the sky does against clouds.

Ignoring the body of maddock, she snaps her fingers and the barkeep cringes into view. A quite voice, that barely bothers her lips cannot be heard, although the barkeeps loud coarse voice booms loudly.

" No my lady, only two outsiders, both of them killed by my nephew. "

and then,

" Yes my lady, others did die, but just village rabble"

the lady then severely smacks the barkeep, who surprisingly goes flying out of sight. The Crunch of wood and bone can be heard as the lady lifts her voices. A handful of lookalike servants men dressed in tight leather bottoms and revealing loose tops spring forward at the sound of the ladies voice

"Take my daughters body to the upper levels"

The lady then leaves the room, moving as fast as you dare, you peek out the back and see the body being moved into a stretcher, which is hauled by the lookalike serving men, behind a four man pannequin in which the lady sits, hidden from view.

kegi did you adminster potions to everyone? if so then please everyone be awake and active after this scene

Kegi did give me a potion, healing 4pts damage. Since I was at -5 I'm currently stable at -1hp

go to positive 1, some potion brewer had augment healing
