Can you name this Dragon / Dungeon adventure?

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

Hello,

I remember dm'ing an adventure almost 20 years ago which I believe was taken from a Dragon or Dungeon magazine and I'm trying to track it down now.

What I remember is that it took place in an underground complex. One of the first rooms was a small octogonal chamber in which statues or golems would spring to life if some trap was tripped. This room led to a corridor and eventuallly to a chasm over which were magically suspended some slippery floating tiles (or was it pillars) that players had to jump from one to the other to get across the chasm. If they failed some check, they fell at the bottom and would be attacked by some creatures.

This is really all I remember. I don't remember the plot or the context.

Any clues as to what this adventure's name is and where I could find it would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much!

E.C.

Chasm Bridge? I don't remember what issue maybe that's it had a one legged wizard badly named.

Thanks for the suggestion! Chasm Bridge is actually from an issue of Dragon I still own (131). I thought it must have been it but, when I read it, it didn't ring a bell at all.

So unfortunately it does not seem to be what I'm looking for.

I have Dungeon 31+ and Dragon 61-114. I can try to look it up if you think it's in that range. Any other info would help narrow the search.

Its "Into the Forgotten Realms" from Dragon Mag #95. (link)

One of my all time favs. This one had two sheets of pre-rolled characters and the chasm bridge, along with magic goodies floating in spheres that no living tissue could touch (push 'em out with yer sword), and a crazy lich that you could easily (too easily?) trick into making him think you were pizza delivery.

Thought it might have been that one. Incidentally, IIRC that's actually part one of a 2-part adventure in the Campaign Setting Boxed Set. Or maybe the other way around.

Just didn't remember the "floating" things off-hand :-)

"Into the Forgotten Realms", yes, I think that's it! Thanks! I have issues 85-94 in one box. Now, issue 95 must be in another box somewhere. Thanks again for all your help. Much appreciated.

There's more to the module? Man, I remember making up some extra parts...Seems like there was a blocked passage right off the main octagon at the bottom of the stairs...made that a 'dorm room' situation, with a kitchen and a library, I think. And I made the drainage/sewage waterslide thing have a couple extra encounters. Was there was a grate with a skeleton pushed up against it from the water pressure with a magic ring, or did I add that in myself?

I might have to find the boxed set to get more of that great mod.

You remember the "Two-Fold Talisman", with Pooky, the +1 teddybear of protection?

There was another great one from about that time dealing with a temple on top of a mountain with blood flowing down the side and you had to find a decanter of endless blood in the water supply. Seems like the ultimate goal was finding a torc that did some special thing.

The other module from that era that I played over and over again was "The Lost Island of Castanamir". Loved that one!

OOPS! Forgot about "Baltrons Beacon". That one had a gob of places to add onto it! I must have DM'd that thing 5 times.

I love these type of questions :) sigh, so much for me storming in to save the day; lol; and was beaten to the punch by a drunken_nomad; lol; well, here is bonus keg for yas D_N
<snap>

Thanks, Vale. Here, you take a mug too!

You have any of the really early Polyhedrons? There's one with a mod in it that I cant find. At least that where I think it's from...
