Sorry about my absence! I was visiting some friends and couldn't find the time to post.
Mal's Init 4 *Sigh*

"Damn. I hate goblins." I mutter upon seeing the little buggers and dash into the room towards one of them that's standing near an oven. I draw my shortsword in a fluid motion as I come to a halt, and start to cautiously advance on the goblin, trying to drive him back into the oven.
Moved to I10

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

Slidell steps to the left following Vesh, "Wow. What a mess. And I thought YOU were bad Veren!"
He then stops as what he is seeing sinks in.

"Oh,... Bother. Here we go again."

He instinctively swings his crossbow and fires at the nearest goblin, not realizing that Veran is charging past him even as he fires,...

Move to G7, fire crossbow at Goblin in G11 (Didn't see until too late that Veran is gonna charge that one? Hope I don't fire into melee!)

To hit w/ crossbow: (1d20+3=15)

Crossbow Dmg if hit: (1d8=6)

Ditto on the thanks for the map!

Female Human Cleric

Upon seeing the smoke and smelling the goblin-stench of the room, Salome veils her face and sets her jaw.

From the doors, she lifts her ankh, and motioning in a figure-eight, she recites a prayer.

Surprise round: Cast Bless.
First round: Will wait until the end of the first round to act. By then, everyone will be somewhere else!

Vesh:
As if guided by Desna herself, your arrow flies true, striking the goblin full in the chest and sending it to the floor in a bloody mess. It had cover from the table, but was flat-footed. With the bless, your attack was a 17 and the sneak attack damage dropped it.

Corran
Corran moves around the table to head off the two goblins by the wall. He nods acknowledgment to Vesh after the good bow shot, then plants his shield and spins his sword casually in his free hand. Since his target is already down, we'll have him ready an action to hit the next goblin that wanders into his threat range.

Thin Man:
With a look of almost casual disdain, the slender man lets fly at Corran, the snap of his bow string sounding a harsh chord. Attack vs. Corran (AC 21 w/ cover) (1d20+8=22, 1d8+1=7); hit for 7 damage. A snear creases his lip as the brave warrior stumbles backwards into the table. He draws another arrow and backs away to the left.I have Corran at 10/17 HP.

Red Goblins
Pressing the momentary advantage, a goblin charges towards Corran, ducking under his off-balance swing Corran's readied attack was a miss (rolled a 10, I think) and scores a glancing hit with his knife. Charge attack vs. Corran (AC 19 w/ cover) (1d20+5=21, 1d4-1=0); hit for 1 damage, so 9/17 HP remaining.

Another goblin charges towards Malcolm while the goblin he has cornered near the furnace hurls an iron pan full of molten glass at him. Charge attack vs. Malcolm (AC 17) (1d20 5=19, 1d4-1=3); hit for 3 damage. Thrown glass vs. Malcolm (improvised; touch attack vs. AC 14) (1d20-1=6, 1d6=1); miss. Malcolm easily bats away the thrown glass, but is struck in the leg by the knife wielding goblin. I have Mal at 11/14 HP.

If Ehlissa delays until now (see revised initiative below), she can attack a red goblin since they are no longer flat-footed. Also, I have not put Veren on the map. I'm okay with him participating, but I don't think he would do anything helpful or fancy without Naelah or someone with Handle Animal directing him. So if you want to add him in, by all means, do so. But he must always take the most direct route to attack the nearest foe and stay on that foe until it is down or until another foe hits him. Does that sound fair?

Slidell:
Your bolt hits the goblin in the gut causing him to convulse to the floor in a widening pool of blood. His attempts to curse you are drowned out in a reddish froth.

Also, don't forget your bless bonuses ;)

Close your eyes and pretend I'm Ehlissa--didn't feel like making another messageboard alias.

Ehlissa attacks the goblin at J10 (1d20+6=9, 1d8+2=8).

EDIT: Attack roll should be 10, not 9. Bless me!

Next!

Sorry, I was having computer troubles...

Here's my post.

That's cool with me.

Her strict code allowing her to do nothing else, Ehlissa waits for the goblins to become aware of their presence before leaping into the fray. "Die, goblin filth!" She cries, charging one of the goblins.

Longsword attack (+1 From Bless +2 From Charge). (1d20+9=15)

Attacking the goblin JSL mentioned via charge attack.

I'll post actions for Veren in a sec.

Dark Archive

Sorry to jump-the-gun on you, PsiFox. Just wanted to keep it grooving. I like your die-roll better!

Ehlissa:
Ehlissa charges the goblin menacing Malcolm, her cold iron longsword glowing with a faint blue light as she swings it in a wide overhand arc and brings it crashing into the nearest goblin with a bone-splitting crunch. The creature slumps to the ground, lifeless. PsiFox didn't roll damage, but with Ehlissa one hit is usually enough.

Blue Goblins
One of the goblins moves up to engage Corran, probing cautiously for an opening. This goblin is readying an action to aid its companion, so I've switched its color to red.

Another goblin advances to engage Malcolm, scoring a weak hit on the swashbuckler's exposed flank. Goblin attack vs. Malcolm (AC 15 w/ glory hound?) (1d20 3=15, 1d4-1=1); hit for 1 damage 10/14 HP remaining.

Note: I forgot about Mal's Glory Hound flaw earlier. I think it applies here, right? If not, this was a miss.

The last goblin hops up on a table, sling spinning deftly in its outstretched arm. With a cry, it releases a stone in Slidell's general direction. However, its aim is so poor that the shot hits off the ceiling 15 feet above and drops not a foot in front of the goblin. He kicks it indignantly. Goblin attack vs. Sli (AC 16) (1d20 3=5, 1d3-1=2); miss.

All: make a Perception check (DC 20) on initiative count 3 (after Mal, before Salome)

Spoiler:

In the dark corners of the room where the filtered sunlight refuses to shine and the blazing infernos shed no light, the shadows dance strangely. You think you see the glint of sharpened teeth and yellow eyes along the back wall. Near J5.

Shaky applies to my ranged attack rolls, not my AC.
I dodge to the left and make to stab the goblin with my shortsword, pulling the sword back at the last moment and impaling the chittering goblin on my rapier.
Attack 18 (14+4), Bluff (for Improved Feint) 21 (12+9), Damage 4 (3+1), Perception 24 (19+5) Sneak Attack Damage (if applicable) 6
As my blade perforates the goblin I notice something with sharp looking teeth in the corner "There in the corner! I thought I saw something with yellow eyes and fangs!" I shout to the rest of the group.

Sir Malcolm of Riddleport wrote:

I was thinking of Glory Hound. The feint works. (Perception was a 9). I will post a more thorough update when we get back to the Red Goblins. Salome next, but don't feel obliged to post in order.

Female Human Cleric

Salome is about to head toward the sailor when something ominous catches her eye. "I see it too!" Momentarily forgetting the goblins, she moves toward the shadowy menace and readies her scimitar. "Sarenrae, give thy light that I may fight this darkness."

Perception: Perception Check (1d20+4=22)

Moves to I5 and readies her attack. Attack and damage (1d20+4=21, 1d6+1=3)

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh's perception check (1d20-4=10). Boo.

Vesh wrote:
Vesh's perception check (1d20-4=10). Boo.

Try this on for size! Sorry Fabes!

Perception. (1d20+1=2)

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

"What? Where?!?" Cries Slidell, looking at the opposite corner while fumbling with his crossbow.
Veren Starts to get Slidell's attention, but is jostled by his master's turning in the wrong direction, and when he looks back, what he thought he saw is gone.

Slidell & Veren's Perception rolls: (1d20-1=11, 1d20+5=19)

What? You missed it? That's it! I'm just gonna haveta get myself a new familiar!

Combat is to Vesh and Corran then the Red Goblins. I will not be able to post until lunch time, but the latest map is correct for that part of the room.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

"with Ehlissa one hit is usually enough." if the board had sigs that would be mine. Like it. And don't worry, Ehlissa sucks at Perception every time.

Caught up in the flurry of battle, the swordswoman is distracted by the prospect of goblin knives. Mustn't get cocky now I've got some steel between me and the the little blighters! she thinks.

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh hears Malcolm yell a warning, but is more concerned with Corran getting surrounded by goblins. As Vesh moves to the corner of the table (5-foot step to F8), he draws, knocks, and lets fly an arrow at the goblin to Corran's right.

Vesh's bow attack against the goblin engaging Corran at F11 (+1 Bless, -4 target engaged in Melee): 1d20+1=14

Damage: 1d6+1=3

Male Human Ranger 1/Fighter 1 (xp: 1920)

Grunting in pain at the arrow wound, Corran slashes at the goblins in front of him, spinning to shield bash whomever is left standing.

Corran's longsword attack vs. goblin at E11 (power attack at -2/+2): 1d20+5=20, 1d8+5=8

EDIT: Roll above edited for Bless spell.

I don't know if a shield bash can come into play, or if Corran's modifiers are correct for making a second attack (I'm not familiar with the feats in PHBII, of which Corran has many), but if either goblin does not go down, apply as necessary:

Corran's shield bash at one or the other goblin (if necessary to drop): 1d20+6=11; 1d4+3=4

Male Human Ranger 1/Fighter 1 (xp: 1920)

Given the information that JSL gave on the discussion thread, the above rolls should read:

Longsword attack roll = 18; damage = 8

Shield bash roll = 9; damage = 4

Goblin Showdown @ the Glassworks

Vesh:
Spying a sudden opening between Corran and his opponent, you fire, but the arrow sails just wide of the goblin's ear. It turns and sticks out its tongue at you, momentarily forgetting Corran...

Corran:
...who runs it through with ease. However, his off-balance shield shove at the other goblin catches nothing but air.

Thin Man:
Seeing goblins fall left and right as their murder spree turned vandalism turned hasty defense is rapidly degenerating into a route, the man takes careful aim again and lets fly at Vesh. Man vs. Vesh (AC 19 w/ Dodge and Cover) (1d20+8=28; 1d8+1=6). Check to confirm crit: no crit (got an 11) lucky you; you would have been smoked for 15 more! So I have Vesh at 5/11 HP.

He then ducks out a door at the opposite end of the room.

Red Goblins:
The last goblin ducks under Corran's shield in a desperate lunge, which Corran deflects with the flat of his sword.

Assuming that Fabes can't post yet, I'll pitch in as our favorite Knight-errant for a bit longer...

"Hold, miscreant!" Ehlissa cries, seeing the thin man flee from the battle. Realizing she cannot pursue him without abandoning her comrades, Ehlissa moves alongside Malcom, swinging her enchanted blade in a vertical slash at the goblin Malcom is fighting.

Attack roll (includes BLESS). (1d20+7=23)

Longsword damage. (1d8 2=9)

Uh, can I say...wow? I kinda feel sorry for the little bastards now.

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

"Veran! Keep an eye out for whatever Malcolm saw." Slidell commands his familiar as he operates the lever on his crossbow.
As he works quickly but calmly to reload, he can be heard chanting under his breath. It doesn't sound like a spell, more like,... a song? The tune sounds hauntingly familiar, and if you weren't involved in battle, you might be able to make out the words,...

"Break the dishes, Crack the plates,
That’s what Bil- No wait, that’s not right.”

"Scary Goblin on the ground,
Stop and take a look around.
Goblins come to burn and pound,
Where are all the Goblins found?

Slashed by sword, burnt by spell,
Goblins turn and run like hell!
Should have run, you should have fled,
Oops too late Cause now your dead!"

As he ends his chant, Slidell snaps his reloaded crossbow to his shoulder, takes a step forward, and says clearly, "Smile for the birdie!"

"CAW?!?" responds Veran indignantly. Slidell pulls the trigger, and the bolt flies towards the goblin dancing and cussing on the tabletop.

Slidell takes one 5' step forward to G8, fires at the goblin on the tabletop at G14.

To hit Goblin at G14, Dmg if hit: (1d20 3=5, 1d8=7)

"Blast it Veran!" Slidell cries, clutching his ear as the bolt flies towards the furnace. "How many times have I told you?! No screaming in my ear!"

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

As Corran skewers the goblin that Vesh just missed, Vesh calls out to his friend, “Nicely done!” But, Corran is already spinning to take out his remaining foe.

I need to get a clear shot, so I don’t stick Corran in the-- But, Vesh's thought is cut short as he feels a slicing pain in his chest.

Looking down, he is confused to see the shaft of an arrow sticking out of his chest where his right arm meets his body.

That doesn’t look like one of mine.

He looks up in time to see the thin man running out the door. Where is he going in such a Haste-spell hurry?

Goblin Showdown @ the Glassworks

Blue Goblin:
The goblin on top of the table looks around anxiously before whipping another stone towards Slidell. When it sails wide, he hops down from his perch and falls back. Goblin attack vs. Slidell (AC 16) (1d20 3=14, 1d3-1=2).

Magenta Goblins Yep, there's more goblins!
Just as the battle appears to be winding down, your attention is drawn to the dark places of the room. There in the shadows, you see flashes of sharp teeth and jagged steel. Slowly the shadows pull together and gain form and solidity. You blink to be sure your eyes are not playing tricks, but sure enough there are four more goblins - all dangerously close. Salome lashes out at one and it screams in pain but keeps its footing.

The goblin joins its fellows in the afterlife with a shriek and hollow gurgling sound. I think your attack is much higher than +2, right?

Sir Malcolm wrote:

"I wish that fecundity were their only racial advantage," Slidell responds, curiously examining the newcomers while Veran frantically tries to keep him from wandering too close. "It's not common knowledge, but they are FEY creatures. The majority are nothing more than they seem, but many have,... powers."

No action, it's not my turn yet! Just keeping the old Slidell prattle going!

You're right. I've got a +4 when attacking with one weapon; I was using my plus or attacking with two weapons. Sorry about that.

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh spins left, absently blinking back tears of pain. Spotting the newcomers, he staggers back and to his right (five foot step to G9), but tries to fire across himself at the goblin in the corner.

Vesh fires at the goblin at D7 (1d20+4=6, 1d6+1=2)

Raising his bow arm sends new pains shooting up his shoulder and neck and his arrow flies wide of its target by the width of two goblins or more.

Male Human Ranger 1/Fighter 1 (xp: 1920)

Corran thrusts at the goblin to his right (at E11) and then spins left to bash the newly arrived goblin (at D9).

Corran's longsword attack (1d20+4=11, 1d8+3=4).

Corran's shield bash (1d20+3=5, 1d4+1=3).

Is Fabes back or is PsiFox still running Ehlissa?

Vesh wrote:

I'll post again.

Seeing Corran under assault, Ehlissa let out a bttlecry, and sprang forward, striking out at the little bugger, her glowing sword whistling through the air.

'Castle isn't working for me right now, so this is a manual roll. Apologies.

Charge attack. 1d20+9=19 (Roll of 10). Targeting Goblin in E11.

Damage: 1d8+2=10 (Roll of 8).

Ehlissa sends the last red goblin sputtering and cursing to the grave. The blue goblin and three magenta goblins (2 by Vesh and Corran, 1 by Salome) remain. Slidell...

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

Slidell head snaps from side to side, settling on the goblin next to Salome with an unsettlingly serious look on the young mage's face. His crossbow drops from his hands to bounce off his leg and hang from it's carry strap. There is none of the usual overreaction from Slidell,...

Instead he takes a step forward, and raises his right hand towards the goblin threatening Salome. Without a word or any action other than a furrowed brow, there is a pulse of light that starts from his right shoulder, and outlines his Varisian tattoo through his shirt as it travels towards his hand. The image of the tattoo seems to shift as the light passes, seeming to take the form a, serpent?

It is past in an instant, and a green blob flies from Slidell's open palm towards the goblin.

Slidell's to hit roll &damage: (1d20+3=17, 1d3=2)

Slidell 5' steps to H7, and fires acid splash at the goblin in J6 (Ranged Touch Attack)

The goblin gasps in pain as Slidell's acid blob strikes it's exposed arm. Dropping its weapon, it falls to the ground: a cowering, whimpering pile of chemically tainted goblin.

The remaining goblins have lost their nerve. The blue goblin across the room turns and runs towards the far end of the workroom. You soon hear his pathetic mewling cries as he rattles and bangs on the door where the thin man exited.

It is Salome's turn...

Female Human Cleric

Her target dispatched by magical acid, Salome looks for where she is most needed. She rushes over to Vesh. "You took quite a hit," she says as she looks at his arrow wound. She stanches the bleeding with a scarf and rests a hand on Vesh's forehead as she chants in Qadi.

Move to F7, cast cure light wounds on Vesh.
Cure Light Wounds (1d8+3=5)

"There. I hope that helps." She bows her head to her fingertips.

There's a goblin trying to get through a closed door right?

Cornered by Vesh, Corran, and now Salome, the remaining goblins drop their weapons and fall on their knees before you.

In goblin:

Spoiler:

"Don't keel us. Pees don't keel us!"

Yes, the blue goblin has run off to the north end of the room and is frantically banging on the door. Here is an updated map showing final positions.

MAP

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh realizes that Salome is beside him.

Salome wrote:

His shoulder tingles as a power envelopes him. He hears the arrow that was embedded in his shoulder splinter as though it were made of ice and fall to ground at his feet.

Salome wrote:

"There. I hope that helps." She bows her head to her fingertips.

"Thank you," says Vesh. He returns her bow, but in the traditional Varisian manner.

Vesh is at 10/11.

He then turns his attention to the goblin across the room, the one pounding on the door. "I imagine we'll have to tie these bastards up."

He knocks an arrow, "I'm not sure if anyone speaks goblin, Slidell maybe? Anyway, if someone does, please tell them that if they make a false move, I will use them as a pin cushion."

Vesh readies an arrow to be fired at any of the three goblins if they show any signs of resistance.

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

It always seems that whenever I'm able to post, I've missed by go in the round! lol Thanks PsiFox for stepping in and continuing the trail of red ruin that Ms. Briez leaves behind her. Oh and she speaks Goblin.

"I say!" shouts Ehlissa in the goblin's language, "Surrender now, or my friend here will pin you to the wall!"

I walk over to the one pounding on the door and tap him on the shoulder with the tip of my rapier. "Hold, you diminuative bastard! Stay still and quite and I won't be running you through." I say, holding him at sword-point. "Anybody got some rope? It might be a little more useful to question these than it was with the others. Maybe one of them knows where Ameiko is?" I suggest, keeping a wary eye on the little ankle-biter.

The goblins offer no resistance as you bind them with a length of rope. For good measure, you tie the loose end of the rope to a table anchored solidly to the floor. I'm assuming someone - Corran maybe - brought rope or a suitable length was easily located. There are lots random bits of stuff spread about the room as a result of the goblin's attempt to burn everything they found in the building.

Anyone who speaks goblin can attempt to interrogate them with a successful Intimidate or Diplomacy check; +4 to Intimidate due to being bigger than them.

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

Slidell Does a double-take as Ehlissa orders the goblins ot submit in their native tongue.

"She speaks goblin?!" He asks of no one in-particular, or perhaps of his familiar. "I don't speak Goblin! Hmmm,... Maybe she'd be willing to give lessons,..."

If no one else has any, Slidell produces a 50' coil of hemp rope from his backpack. "I've been traveling," HE explains. "You never know when you're going to run into something that you have to go over, or climb down,..."

While someone far more competent than himself in knot-tying, (Perhaps the sailor?) binds the Goblins, Slidell looks anxiously towards the now closed door.

"Whatever info we are going to try and get out of these, we need to do it quick! I think THAT was Tsuto! And I don't want him to get too far away, because he can't be up to anything good! And now that he knows we are here, he'll be heading for Ameiko, and possibly Neahlah,..."

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Malcolm and Vesh have Use Rope at +4, I think.

After helping to bind the goblins, Vesh retrieves his pack.

"Agreed," says Vesh returning, "Let's keep moving. We can question them later."

Moving to the door that Tsuto went through he says, "Malcolm, could you put an ear to this door for me?" He then begins working to get it open:

In order: Search, Disable Device, and Open Lock (1d20+7=10, 1d20+9=26, and 1d20+9=21)

"Get ready." He says over his shoulder.

You handle the lock with ease. But the door refuses to budge. There are no other locking mechanisms. It gives every indication of being jammed or wedged shut. Strength check to bash it open.

As Vesh goes to work on the lock I put my ear against the door, listening for anything that might be lurking on the other sword.
