Gone but not forgotten comics celebrated Dragon 359

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I will miss many things about Dragon; but, the comics section will always have a special place. OOTS celebrates the great Dragon comics with its final offering. I recongnize Fineous Fingers, Snarfquest, Wormy, Phil & Dixie, and The Knights of the Dinner Table. I assume the halfling in the red shirt is another character I missed during my hiatus from the mag. Let us not forget the beautiful "Jasmine" or the rather odd (imho) "Pilsom". Thanks to Rich for reminding me of the great enjoyment this section of this great magazine brought to so many of us.

Yamara (the halfling thief in late 100-early 200 issues) was one of the reasons I originally got hooked on Dragon..."Hey, I don't feel like a turned ghoul..."

Do you have the magazine? What's in it?

Got mine on Saturday, but I haven't flipped all the way through it yet. Wasn't home much over the weekend.

A lot of the articles don't mean much to me, since I've only been playing for about 10 years now, but there's a lot of good stuff.

The Phil and Dixie cartoon seemed stupid, but having read none of the others, I can only assume that's my ignorance showing through.

I particularly liked the mysteries article, it contained some interesting things that could be used as inspiration for adventures/campaigns.

It's a pretty decent "What's New" strip. You'll just have to trust me on that one. ;)

By using /spoiler, could ya tell us what those mysteries are? heh heh

What's in Class Acts? I'm curious to know how they ended that one. And what about Demonomicon?

From the Dragon's mouth:

Adventurer: Body Modifications by James Lafond Sutter (of Dungeon fame). Different things you can do to your body (think body piercings to the extreme).
Arcane: Wizard Guide by Amber E. Scott. Charts and lists to make playing a wizard easier.
Divine: Forgotten Faiths by F. Wesley Schneider (of Dragon fame). Deities from first and second editions, complete with domains.
Warrior: The Universal Key by Jeremy Walker (of Dungeon fame). Ways to get through doors if you have no rogues.
Finale: Arcane Lore Abilities by Monte Cook (yes, I got Monte Cook to write a Class Act!). Super cool feats for arcane spellcasters. Did I mention it's by Monte Cook? :D
