Questions on Sodden Hold
My group just finished the stalkers room (It was looking bad, but the dwarf's Blind fighting came in handy), and I'm struck with a dilemma... The party left creatures alive.
Basically, they took the two guards down to -9 and -7 (stabilized) and locked them into one of the cells - The doppelganger spy slipped them a knife from Filge's Silverware and a throwing axe into the cell.
More importantly, one of the invisible stalkers is stabilized at -4 in there... Should the party know about it? Do they go poof at 0 or at -10?
I'm thinking that the party is going to rest prior to going down the pipe - they are wiped out. Although it would be fun for the last stalker to make a last attack on them if it can?
Anyone have any thoughts?

With one night's rest, none of those creatures are going to be in fighting shape. The stalker is a living creature, so it can drop to negatives and heal naturally, but if it heals 1hp/hd/day, it's still going to be hurting. More likely, the stalker would stalk off and warn the BBEG to send help. It might agree to be healed and in assist the attack, but not likely on its own with only 4hp. Just IMO, X.

I would forget about the stalkers and would only bring the doppelgangers back into the game if the PCs have a much too easy time. If you start doing things like that, your players will start hacking anyone to pieces just to make sure, they stay dead (and from time to time you would like some BBEG to pull off this trick, would you not :-)). The doppelgangers could be freed and revived by the doppelganger in your group, slipping off during rest, or another doppelganger coming back from duty outside (like the one uncovered by freeing this noblewoman in one of the cells). But in the end, this adventure is hard enough anyway, so don't bother.

I generally poof the bad guys at 0 rather than -10 (or, as in the house rule, -CHA). It makes it easier as a DM to track, and I think that the PCs are supposed to be Heroes, anyway, so I give them that break (and very few others, if you talk to my players;^)
Besides, I thought that you did not heal even 1 HP per day if you were in the negatives. I could be wrong, and that could just be a house rule, but I thought I read that somewhere...
