A story in Dragon Magazine around 1990ish

Hey guys! I'm really interested in finding out what number dragon magazine has a story I read once (around 1990) about a wizard who goes to a town and cuts a giant worm up into pieces to make alot of them because a town betrays him. I'd love to know the author and the name of the story too :) Thanks guys!

No, they said you (or anyone else really) can't post content from the magazines; if you know the answer to the OP's question (an issue number) you can certainly post that.
