Regarding the stats for the Nimbus Bow; the description says it's a +# blah burst weapon (trying to avoid spoilers) "that does an extra 1d6 each hit". Is this extra damage IN ADDITION to the standard 1d6 built in to all burst weapons? Or is this a reference to the standard "extra" damage all energy weapons deal?

I think it's "in addition," as an unnamed type bonus (comparable to but weaker than that from a bane weapon, for example). Otherwise they wouldn't specify creature types affected.

I think he was making a comment about your login name. It is rather... lengthy. ;)
I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I use my email address and a password to login, not my screen name.
Guru+baba+rama+lama+swami= a bunch of eastern/asian mystic titles strung together for my (and others) amusement. Guru for short (Great Guru to players seeking to appeal to my DMness).

Yup; against those particular monsters, it does +1d6 damage, in the same way that a bane weapon deals +1d6 damage.
I was actually wondering about this. The "bane" property typically does 2d6 extra damage against appropriate foes. Was this lowered due to the wider array of creatures subject to the Nimbus Bow's effect?

A little note..on one of the bow's capabilities
My PCs just assaulted the Crimson Fleet in SoSC and were in dire straits when the PC with the bow decided to nuke 'em with a tornado (via control wind @ 15th level)... Now I'm trying to figure out if anything will survive the tornado. By anything I mean the ships that make up the wreck.

While we're at it. My players will soon begin CoBI and I was thinking whether should I change the Nimbus Bow into a Nimbus... Spear or some other melee weapon, since none of my players is a bow user. I even offered them Greater Bracers of Archery at Zotzilaha and suggested them that they should, but still no...
Although, it seems kinda stupid to put an Shocking Burst artifact in a campaign filled with electricity-immune Demons...

That's why I changed it into a Screaming Burst weapon...

I yoinked the Nimbus Bow altogether - with heavy splat book access, groups really do NOT need the weapon. With sufficient numbers of characters (6 or more) or especially a large party packing a full roster of cohorts, it is not necessary.
The extra zappage of the bow is about as useful in the STAP as a pet rock...

Um, does that mean it is or it isn’t useful? I mean, a pet rock can keep your character sheets from blowing around. I mean, sure, there’s the sand, but if he’s paper trained, you don’t even have to vacuum the sand up. In fact, if you have a cat, you never have to buy kitty liter - if they both use the same box, that is.

:P In the case of the gob of electricity damage, it's pretty much unnecessary - if anything, I wouldn't be suprised to see the PCs sell the thing off to the highest bidder.

We're not quite up to the Nimbus Bow yet, but I'm finding it really hard to see the archer acout in my group giving up the +2 evil outsider bane longbow from the Temple of the Jaguar in ToD. The nimbus bow's abilities, while occasionally handy, don't really stack up against bane vs the most common opponents in the AP...

We are not quite there either, but I had wondered the same thing. Of course I do not know if the Ewok archer will last that long.
