Definitely check it out. I found that I liked Hydra, but Resist has IMO better instrumental performances than Hydra. Lyrics are more or less even. Hydra I think had better performers featured (hard for it to top Tarja on Paradise for me), and Sharon is great like always. I only wish it had a few more tracks to make Resist perfect.

Finally listened to it. It's great!

The missus really let me have it on Sunday, and I have been trying to make us better since then. Things are getting a little better each day. To help me out i'm listening to one of my favorite albums All things must pass by George Harrison. So much of this applies to my life right now...

I've had Steeleye Span's "Gulliver Gentle and Rosemary" stuck on my mind for close to a week, and am trying to saturate my brain to the point it can't understand the song anymore.

Brown Acid - The Sixth Trip

Urszula Dudziak ‎– Urszula

A peculiar record. Good, but peculiar.

Pat Travers Band - "Crash and Burn", 1980

This is amazing. Great wordplay, tight flow, message on point, and based around a flawless pop culture reference:

Godemis [of CES Cru] - "Ol' Gregg / 6 Minits"

Glenn Miller & His Orchestra - "Danny Boy" (traditional)
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "Someday I Suppose"
Propagandhi - "Failed Imagineer"
Jimmy Eat World - "Polaris"
Baroness - "Borderlines"

Gin Blossoms - "Angels Tonight"
Egg Hunt - "We All Fall Down"
Alice In Chains - "Rotten Apple"
Down - "Stone The Crow"
Big Country - "Look Away"

Judas Priest's "Defenders of the Faith" LP.

19-year-old me has yet another reason to point the finger at its future self, shouting "NOT PUNK ENOUGH!" For I have discovered a grudging appreciation for official rip-off artists (C) and sell-outs (TM) Green Day:

Green Day - "Whatsername"

A Spotify playlist I put together of heavy rock covers by Norway's amazing vocalist Jørn Lande.

Pagan Altar - Judgement of the Dead

No Use For A Name - "Insecurity Alert"
Mindless Self Indulgence - "Shut Me Up"
Gojira - "Stranded"
The Amazing Shakes - "Shiver And Shake"
Green Day - "No One Knows"

A Here Come the Mummies Spotify playlist.

Ive been having trouble with my missus lately. Well, she has problems with me, and I'm working on resolving that. I have been listening to Anderson Paak a lot (since this guy is one of a few putting out great hip hop). Paak has a new track with Smoky Robinson that got my chocked up. I made my wife cry when I played it for her. We are taking it slow and getting back to good. In the meantime, thanks Paak!

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. I can't choose just one song to post from them. You'll just have to search for them on Youtube. So much fun.

Who Found A Lost Rose In the Warship - Ghost

Rigs of Marlow - Morris On Band

Yid, Du Partizaner

Moby Grape - Can't Be So Bad

Here's a good intro to the band:

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - "Goodbye Earl" (Dixie Chicks cover)

For the uninitiated, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes is a supergroup consisting of members of bands signed to the Fat Wreck Chords label: Spike Slawson (Swingin' Utters) on lead vocals, Chris Shiflett (No Use For A Name / Foo Fighters) on lead guitar, "Fat Mike" Burkett (NOFX) on bass, Joey Cape (Lagwagon) on rhythm guitar, and Dave Raun (also of Lagwagon) on drums. They play exclusively punk rock covers of popular songs from various genres and time periods.

Thanks, David!

Jenny Sorrenti - Suspiro

She was in 'Saint Just', who I really liked, though this is a bit more straight ahead.

Also, I can't determine whether she's holding up her hat to the sun on the cover, or trying to drink out of a turkey.

Someone I Know - Margo Guryan

I swear, if there'd been s+$% like this when I was a callow high school youth 15-20 years ago, I would be a rap die-hard for life.

Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and Ces Cru - "Unfair"

MxPx - "Let's Ride"
All - "Long Distance"
Jawbreaker - "Friends Back East"
Krizz Kaliko - "Unstable"
DJ Zombieshark - "Dysfunctional Deviant"

Far Flown Falcon - "Anthill"
James L. Sutter - "Do Your F#&~ing Dishes"
Against The Giants - "22 North"
moonseolnyeo - "Summer Rain (Chorales of the Techpriest)"

The first time I heard this song, I thought it was pretty good. The fourth time I heard it, I thought it was OK. The hundredth time I heard it from my awful evil neighbors at midnight, I was done. The fifteen-millionth time I heard it from the hive of scum and villainy of a bar across the street at 2 AM, I thought it was literally the theme song of the devil solely designed to deprive me of sleep.

The four-billionth time I heard it though, I thought it was pretty good again. I blame a combination of sleep deprivation, alcohol, and Stockholm syndrome. I can't stop listening to it. Here you go:

Ella Mai - "Trip"

Foghat - "Foghat Live".

Ten O'Clock Scholars - "Dream With You" / "Angels Tonight", featuring an interview with Doug Hopkins in between.

Joe Cocker's classic LP, "Live at the Fillmore East, 1970".

Mahjun - Happy French Band

In the same general area as Gong. I think it might get pretty annoying if I had to listen to it for too long.

Pat Metheny Group - The Way Up, Pt. 3

Pentangle - Lord Franklin

My son's roomie works at a local restaurant that closes at 10. Last Saturday night at 9:45 39 Little League and Teen League players and parents showed up. So the baseball players here are rude. That's what they do.

I'm listening to a Spotify playlist of 70s rock that you don't hear on radio much (or at all, in some cases) anymore. I call it "Easy Listening".

Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light

I'm going to see them when they come to Leeds in November. It'll be great!

A Youtube playlist of traditional bluegrass music.

"The Best of Fear" -- Primal Fear

Devin Townsend Project - the Transcendence and Addicted! albums.

A Foghat playlist I put together on Spotify. The "This is Foghat" playlist that Spotify drones put together was awful. So I made my own.

Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing: And Other Stories

A Spotify playlist of songs I put together collecting music from throughout Ronnie James Dio's career, with the exception of his very early doo-wop stuff. Yes, really. Before he became the voice of metal he was in a couple of late 50s doo-wop outfits.
