Has anyone used Conan’s sword (the atlantean sword) in your game, as say an artifact? Where the PC’s able to wield the sword? What did they do with it? If a PC could wield it what magical properties did it have? I general what would you consider the sword to be + wise and ability wise? Also it doesn’t necessarily have to be the Conan RPG. Who’s to say someone from Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, or Iron Kingdoms can’t know the legend of Conan a great warrior who no one could defeat? I bought several of the older Conan books at a local used book store. They where 75 cents each so I couldn’t pass them up, I have had this thought before and decided I would pull from the well of knowledge here.

conan used many different weapons. and he could kill you in one blow with any of them. the atlantean sword had runes inscribed on the hilt but anyone could wield it. i would give it a +1 or +2.
the power of that sword (and indeed all of conans weapons) came from conan.
Yup, Conan had a magic sword in, what, one or two stories? And considering level of magic in those stories, it is probably a whopping +2 sword (bit like some article once pointed out that cursed -1 steel sword in Dark Sun setting would be already better than most weapons they had there...).
If I remember my Conan correctly the blade was reportedly unbreakable, and forged from meteoric metal. Because of that it had a stronger effect on unnatural creatures and was just unbreakable against everyone else.
By 3rd ed rules it is probably an unbreakable, cold iron blade. It was usable by others because in some stories it was taken away from him and used by others temporarily until he got it back.
It has been a while since I read the original stories, and some of the 3rd party stories are bleeding in in places.
