Today, Paizo Publishing announced the upcoming release of our first Downer comic compilation. Downer—Volume 1: Wandering Monster is a 64-page compilation of the comic strip from the pages of Dungeon magazine. Join Downer and his motley crew of subterranean adventurers on their epic quest to deliver the Ulolok to the drow city of Oubliette!
Woo-hoo! Fantastic! All my Downer cravings shall be satisfied in a single reading! Yes!
Excellent! There are some rather massive gaps in my comprehension of the storyline; now I can mentally set the record straight. I so totally dig the art style, too, so distinctive...
Quite the cause for a geeky celebration. :)
How much (if any) new content will be included?
Great! I've wanted to read the original storyline for a long time now, but I wasn't about to spend hundreds of dollars getting all the back issues of Dungeon for just that. Hope the pages are glossy!

A teaser page of the origins of the Ulolok and how it came to be a game piece. :D
Excellent! I've been waiting for this for some time, so sign me up for a copy.
And the Heavenly Host sang, “HALLELUJA, HALLELUJA!!!”
Kyle Hunter wrote: What do y'all want. Flashback: A young Downer bumps into Lobo in some bottom-dwellers joint, a fight turns into mutual admiration for each others' underhandedness, and they gang up to steal Aqua-man's lunch money.

• Some brief character backgrounds, space permitting(though that seems like a given for something like this). All of the characters in the comic have such interesting combinations of class/race that I'm always intrigued to see more info on them.
• Sketches/concepts. A feel for how certain concepts came into being, and the background for some of the final designs.
• Maps. Maybe not as important as other stuff, but it would be nice to get a sense of the larger world.
• Interview/Artist info. Just a bit of insight into the artist behind the work, with such issues as preferred drawing tools, story insight, inspiration, favorite influences, etc.

A map or two would be cool. Some notes on the backgrounds of the characters and locations would be great. Maybe a two-page tutorial on how you create your unique art?
If you were to add something to the book, you could add the Downer Critical Threat article that you wrote for Dungeon 138.
We've just posted the cover image for Volume 1.

That's brilliant. I'll tell him on Sunday.

Any update on when this eagerly awaited product will ship? I pre-ordered it last month along with some other stuff. I was under the assumption it would be out this month, so the rest of my shipment is pending, but your material here now says Downer won't be out until June. If that is the case, is there any way to change my shipment on the other stuff I ordered, and perhaps order some additional back issues to come with that?

If that pertained to me, what'd he think?
Oh, and thanks!

If you'd like to add stuff, the easiest route would be to have us cancel Downer from your current order, and then you can create a new order with Downer and the back issues you'd like at your leisure. Wanna do that?

Yes please. Can you cancel Downer, or do I need to go in and do it?

Yes please. Can you cancel Downer, or do I need to go in and do it? I've done it. The rest of your order should ship within the next day or so.
Update request. When is this supposed to be available? I seem to recall that a week or two ago it said "expected Tuesday" or something like that. I now see it as expected June. We're getting to the end of June and I just wanted to ask if there is any sort of update? Thanks again for putting this book out.
Also, what do I have to do to get Kyle to autograph it?
There's been a snafu of the sort of which I can't detail.
We're at least six weeks out right now.

Thank you for the update and I'm sorry to hear about the snafu.

Thanks for update on this item. Bummed about snafu--eagerly looking forward to actual product!

...and I'm told it tales about six weeks before we have it back from the printer, and another two weeks to get it to stores, so we're looking at another Gen Con release, I think!
Just saw the new blog. Does that mean...it's ready?
Still on target for Gen Con, last I heard.

I'll talk to Erik today about the particulars. He's seen a press copy of the book. I haven't yet. If Paizo gets them in time, I'll definately shoot over there and sign away.

I haven't actually seen a press copy yet. The whole shipment is on its way over here, but I am hearing we are probably going to just miss Gen Con.
Kyle is in the office every two weeks for my campaign, though, so we'll most likely wrangle him to sign a bunch of the preorder copies before we send them out.

It's almost here! The books are on a boat heading here. I'm told they should be here within a couple of weeks.

Kick ass! Thanks for the update, again.
I can't believe I'm asking this, but...what's the status of the boat? Mid-Pacific? Getting close to Portland? ;)
