Wow! I had to take a moment to post about the coolness of this critter. I'm a long-time monster fan, and this one screams "instant classic". Nice touch incorporating the warlock's eldritch blast. :)
The artwork is fantastic as well. Very creepy, like demons should be!
Thanks Shade, I had a "blast" creating it. I have an affinity for demons, having created the original Greyhawk "Demonworld" in the day. Heh.

In regards to the soul demon, I came across something in its stat block that I did not know what it meant: "rebuke divinity."
At first, I thought it was referring to the "vulnerability to turning" but it did not make sense since (a) "vulnerability to turning" was already mentioned in the weakness section of the stat block and (b) "vulnerability to turning" does not quite match with "rebuke divinity." Does anyone know what "rebuke divinity" is about?
Secondly, does the "partial incorporeality" functions in the same manner as standard incorporealness (as stated in the Dungeon Master's Guide) with regards to weapons and/armours with the ghost touch enhancement?
And finally, while not of relevance to this particular thread, I am curious about "Heward's Upliftment." The spell is a transmutation spell but it has the mind-affecting descriptor; does that mean a mindblank spell nullifies its effects? Also, if a subject hits the ceiling, does the spell tries to levitate them even further (i.e., crushing them against the ceiling, similar to a bull rush attempt) or would they be held harmlessly against the ceiling?
I know these questions seem like nit-picking and I come across as a rules-lawyering type of player but in the games that I gm/dm, one of the players is a real rules-lawyer (and good thing too as the rest of us would not know how the various combat special options work most of the time [i.e., grappling, bull-rushing, etc]). I like to make sure I understand the soul demon and the spell properly before using them.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice offered.
CB out.

Ignore that reference to "rebuke divinity." That special quality got absorbed into the monster's other abilities when it became apparent that we had to tighten up its abilities to make the critter fit in the space we had. We just forgot to delete "rebuke divinity" when we were done.

Yes; ghost touch weapons allow you to attack a soul demon without having to deal with that 50% miss chance.

Heward's Upliftment is a complicated spell with multiple effects. Technically, it probably sould have followed the rules for dual-school spells (as presented in the Player's Handbook II), but since we didnt' have copies of the PHB II to reference when we were working on this issue... no luck. A mind blank spell would render you immune to the vision aspect of the spell, but not against being levitated against your will or against being deafened. You can't crush someone against a ceiling; the victim just floats there like a helium-filled balloon.
