Ok, so if finally got #139. What do you think the new iconics represent?
My initial guess:
- Gorgeous Human Female Sorcerer
- Male Dwarf Cleric
- Ambiguous Elf Scout
- Human Male Monk

What are the chances we'll ever see write-ups of these characters?
Or, even better, see write-ups of them at appropriate levels for each Savage Tide adventure, to be used as "fast play" characters when someone dies or someone new shows up for a single session?
On the other hand maybe I'm the only one who thinks this would be cool.

Actually, that would be really cool, and would also be a really handy tool for the DM running the adventure. It's always nice to have a solids means of measuring your character's power -- if the PCs are about equivalent with this group of characters, you should be able to run the adventure without having to adjust the CRs much.

I think it would be neat if, now that all twelve core classes have a Dungeon stand-in that's much easier on the eyes than the ones in the core rulebooks, Wizards or Paizo could figure out a way to get a set of miniatures made of them. Wishful thinking, for the most part, but I think it would be kind of cool.

I brought that up in a thread a while back and got a fairly lack-luster response, but I love the idea. I would want them badly, the characters are awesome looking and different than any WotC figures.
I would love a core-class iconics pack.FH

Aw yeah, and she is a different kind of cute than ol' Tyralandi...so what's her name? I'd ask her myself but my Charisma is a might low.

She doesn't have a name yet. If Tyralandi ever gets killed and I move on to a new character, though... the prospect of playing a wizard who traficks with demons is VERY tempting. If only because that would really let me mess with Jason Bulmahn's character even more...

Once we write up stats for an iconic, then all of a sudden it seems weird to have them "star" in illustrations for adventures that are way above or below their level. Of course, that might just be a mental block.
I based my character for Erik Mona's Age of Worms campaign on the cleric of Wee Jas, and Wes based his first character on the paladin. Alas, that paladin got eaten by acid beetles early in the first adventure, which is kind of why whenever you see him illustrated throughout the Age of Worms he's in DIRE peril and about to be killed.
We've certainly had a lot of requests over the years to see these characters statted up, so maybe it's time to start considering that more seriously...

I don't think you would be detracting too much from the mystic by canonizing their explicit details. Perhaps you could do a low, medium, and high level profile like they sometimes do for weird monsters (the Elite Opponents articles) over at the WotC site...
Personally, I love the real-world carry-overs in the art. Continuity is what gives the game life. Long live Abelard’s Band!
