One of my players, partly do to how I showed them a character generator since they're new, would like to play a planetouched character- a Fey'ri. I'm not familiar with the race, but the racial adjustments according to the character generator are: +2 dexterity, +2 intelligence, -2 constitution, which are perfect for what she wants to play- a wizard.
Thoughts on the Fey'ri and Ghostwalk, please. as well as beginning characters and special races. (also are the Fey'ri LA?)
but if I let her play a Fey'ri, where would I start her off on the Ghostwalk map? the elven lands or the spirit wood? (if you require a map here's a link to the 3.5 adjustment pdf that has a map on pg 18: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20031225a)

Okay, now that I've gotten all the weird geek-out fanboy crap out of my system... I happen to love Fey'ri, see...
Fey'ri are a +2 LA race, but their more powerful abilities such as damage reduction and enervation cause them to go up to a +3 LA /and/ they're limited to only selecting one of them.
I'm not terribly familiar with the Ghostwalk Campaign setting, even though I do have the book... But you should bear in mind that most of the Fey'ri are evil, and constantly plot vengeance against the other elven races. They're a subrace that came about through breeding experiments on the part of evil elves with demons, and accordingly should probably be either a relatively new threat, or an old one slowly regaining in power. Their placement should be based on where you think they should be imprisoned (if an old, forgotten threat), or where they're conducting their vile experiment.
I know, it's not as helpful as a firm location, but hopefully it gives you some food for thought on where you want to place them since they're not an established part of the Ghostwalk setting.

The Character would have been Chaotic Neutral, but i think I convinced the player to lean more towards Human or another standard race (Elf for instance) I might still use the original draw up of a Fey'ri as an interesting NPC, perhaps even an evil force behind Yuan-ti attacks on elves or some other malevolent force in the campaign.
Thanks for the LA, so a 1st level Fey'ri wizard would advance like a 3rd Level wizard or a 4th level? (at which point do those special abilities come in, etc?)
Please familiarize yourself more with the ghostwalk campaign setting, since I'll at least be doing a campaign there I'd appreciate any input you might give, in the meantime I probably do know more than you about it. Oh, and if you have Libris Mortis, that'd be fantastic since I'll be utilizing that a lot in my campaign. (for one thing there's a cult of Afflux developing in conjunction with a rise in power of Orcus and Khostren- more so in league with Khostren than Orcus, but there'll be a nice little power struggle between orcus and Phaant with Afflux and Khostren in the middle)
