You'll have to let me know when and where y'all are playing!
Can do. It looks like we'll be hitting one of the Amvets posts here in town every other Tuesday, starting with last night (an interesting mix considering the fact that we had never played together before), and then in a month or so we'll be playing out in some of the other dives around town.

w00t! I know exactly how you feel... my band finally finished off our lineup last weeke nd, and I couldn't be more excited. What sort of music do you guys play?
They play mostly classic rock bar tunes. I'll be bringing a funky drumming style to the mix. I hope to get them to expand into a little more funk-oriented danceable stuff.
If I was playing the guitar, we'd be going metal all the way...Shred ahead! Unfortunately, my drumming isn't good enough to handle that stuff.

Congrats, M@!!
and Kermez, it's okay to be a failed rock drummer... At least there aren't industry standard jokes about you (that I've heard). I have a couple good friends who are bassists (from different parts of the country) and both have heard this one independantly:
Q: What's the difference between a large pizza and a bassist?
A: A large pizza can feed a family of four.

No standard industry jokes? How 'bout:
Q: What do you call someone who likes hanging out with musicians?
A: A drummer.
Q: How do you know your stage is completely level and even?
A: The drummer drools equally out of both sides of the mouth.

I drummed in one band and sang lead in 3 others (80's metal-type garage bands playing Battle of the Bands and a few bar gigs here and there.) and my only advice would be don't take it too seriously. Have fun, enjoy the road, and have fun! My bands usually broke up because some of the others in the band would get big heads and think they were destined for fame. Take it for what it is and be a local Rock-star. Fame in your town is still fame.
My old bands could have stuck together and done a mix of covers and originals, and had some pretty prosperous gigs in the club/bar scene. Fortune and fame? No, but what a cool way to make a living.
Good luck, man and have fun.

Oh, you're so humble, Fakey. He was in the Bay City Rollers, y'all!
He was a star!
