I am actually a bit surprised there are this many people calling for reprints of the "golden age" modules. I, like many others here, cut my D&D teeth on classic Greyhawk modules like Tomb of Horrors, Barrier Peaks, the Slavers series, and so on.

Any and all of these that can be updated and rereleased (either in Dungeon, by pdf, or however) would be most welcome and I would certainly purchase them with all haste!

Classic adventure updates. Oh mommy. Now, no offense to Monte Cook (who is without a doubt one of the most amazing designers ever to grace the pages of an RPG product), but I would like to see a different take on 'Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil'.

I understand that this will likely never happen (the first 'RttToEE' having come out only like 5 years ago) but still, I'd like to see another designer's take on my all-time favorite super-adventure. Mr. Cook's version was fine, don't get me wrong, and it gave me and my gaming group like 3 months of awesome adventuring, but after it was all said and done, we didn't have the same awestruck feeling that we'd had with the original.

My gaming group has been together for a LONG time and we first experienced ToEE back in the mid 80s. Now, I know, you're saying to yourself 'Well, duh, how can an adventure written today have the same impact as one that was written when you were 13 years old? You're letting nostalgia cloud your judgement!' Maybe. It's certainly a part of it, I'm sure.

But there's more to it than just nostalgia. The updated Hommlet (a key element of the ToEE mythos) in RttToEE was outstanding. The updated moathouse was well done also (a dragon out in the open against 4th level players...YIKES!). After that was where what I wanted and what the adventure delivered started to diverge. I think what I wanted was fewer overall locations to travel to and more depth added to the ones that were in the adventure. I wish I could identify more clearly what exactly wasn't my cup of tea about the whole thing....it's just that, overall, I came away feeling like it could be have been...more.

I'd also do backflips for updated 'Scourge of the Slave Lords' and 'Queen of Spiders' supermodules. Oh and 'Egg of the Phoenix' would be fantastic under the 3.5 rules, methinks.

Congrats on your promotion, James :D

We've got a Map of Mystery on the issue's pagination. Doesn't mean there'll be one in the issue, but things are looking good.

Very cool: how about the final map or two for the series Chris began c. issue 109 and 111: the dwarf/goblin mines?

As far as I know... that map doesn't yet exist. I'll see what I can find out about them though!

While I would love to see the Slavers modules and GDQ1-7 updated to 3.5 rules, I don't think that's likely to happen due to the page volume that would require (although doing one giant lair per year might be more realistic).

My vote for a great one shot: N1, "Against the Cult of the Reptile God." Hands down one of the best 1e adventures ever written. But I would be happy with almost anything they updated from 1e Greyhawk (I wouldn't be as excited about "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" as I would be about other adventures, but I'm sure I would still end up making use of it someday).

That sounds great, thanks!

Allan.
