Oh wow!
Just stumbled over this thread.
I can't believe it!
I can imagine that this feeling you got after Lisas response, Jarlaxle, makes up for the loss you have experienced.
I know first hand, how fast Paizo responses to customers in such cases. Not that something has been stolen from me, but the map booklet in SCAP had been missing a couple of pages and after posting that fact I had a new booklet (together with the city map) only two days later in my mailbox - and I live in Germany!
Thanx to Paizo I feel very close to the game; close than ever before! Awesome generosity between complete strangers! How cool's that?!
Paizo rocks!!!

I feel your pain. This happened to a friend of mine a few years ago.He lost several books, every character he ever made, and his dice collection which was very personal to him.Kudos to Paizo for being such an excellent company.I personally consider myself a lifetime customer and even moreso now.I would like to add that I much prefer these messageboards to the ones over at Wizards, everyone here seems so much more like a big extended gaming group.

Wow!
I´m just as amazed as the others posting here about how this story developed. I´m feeling very sorry for Jarjaxle.
But Lisas generous gesture lightens up the day. The others offering help should not be neglected, offering books or money to help compensate the loss. Where else would you find this kind of solidarity, especially on the web ?
Stefan
Still amazed.

Great: everyday I discover a new reason to justify my not-so-irrational love for Paizo. That's one amazing CEO you have there!
But let's not oversee George Krashos' offer! One PGtF offered by a FR alumni and developper is no small thing! ;-)
Undying respect and appreciation to Lisa and George.

Since I can't hit you with a PM, Jarjaxle, I'll throw it out there. I'd like to join the others who've offered to help offset the cost of replacing your books. If you don't have a PayPal account, and haven't used that service before, I can help you get that set up, too--though it's really quite user-friendly.
Please send me an email at k r anderson 57 at yahoo dot com (no spaces in there, of course.) It might then be advisable to post some way for others to contact you if they'd like to give further assistance.

Darrell - I can understand wanting to support your local games store too (and it is awful to hear about another one closing shop :-( ) but I try to spread my support to worthy companies as well. That is the reason I subscribed to Dungeon & Dragon (2/1 - I couldn't quite afford 3 years of Dungeon and a year of Dragon) through paizo but will still buy 95% of my gaming books/supplies from ym LGS. Throw the love to paizo, mang!

I also had my stuff stolen from my car. Luckily I wasn't DMing at the time so I lost less then the OP. What was best was that the next week when I arrived for our next gaming session my friends had a new boxed set of 3.5 books (DMG, PH and MM) and a new bag and dice waiting for me. I still lost my notes and some old Dungeons that were in my bag but my friends really made me feel appreciated with that boxed set and new dice. Luckily I still had the next issue in the age of worms in the house and not in the car.
