Do you think having the Backdrop article and map of the Isle of Dread from Dungeon 114 will be a big plus for the new AP? I wonder what the interaction will be.
I believe it has been stated previously that it is not necessary to have Dungeon #114 to run ST, but that it can never hurt to have more information. ;)
IIRC, Dungeon #114 focused primarily on the villages and basic overview of tIoD - I don't think it really touched the central plateau, and I know it didn't dwell on Taboo Island. I believe a lot of the ST action on tIoD will take place on said central plateau and Taboo Island.

I ordered this back issue (along with two other excellent ones to complete the "Istivin" trilogy and get the Warduke critical threat) late last week, received it yesterday, and spent a good part of the past evening immersing myself in the Isle of Dread background and adventure.
It's outstanding. I'd recommend that anyone who's like me and is excited about what's been shared already about "Ssvage Tide" snatch up this back issue before it goes the way of the Dodo.
Or, a more suitable metaphor, the way of the dinosaurs.

Well, thank you for the compliments, Golbez57. It was a pleasure to work on. Hopefully you'll be pleased with the expansions in the Adventure Path.

Hmm..does this mean we will see an expansion map of the known Greyhawk world?
There are some medium detail maps of the Amedio Jungle coast and Hepmonaland in the Scarlet Brotherhood book, a 2e publication available as a download on this site. These extend the known world on most Flanaess maps southward by over 1,000 miles.

I just got 114 off of ebay. The Isle of Dread background material is great. Actually, the whole dang issue was pretty spiffy. Has anyone run Mad God's Key? I'm actually considering modifying it a bit and using it as a pre-intro to Savage Tides, once we know what the first couple of ST adventures look like.

That might work out very well for you Ragboy. You should consider thinning the xp earned in Mad God's Key so as to keep your players from outpacing the level progression of the adventures. Or perhaps doing so in the actual AP.
And definitely replace Greyhawk as the setting for something a little more sea side and perhaps a bit more south (if you're using Greyhawk). Just saying...
