If you haven't run 3 faces of Evil- Buy some Wardrums minis!

When the new set of minis came out for DDM's I was pretty excited. Then I saw the Aspect of Hextor.... Man was I bummed I had already ran 3 faces of evil. Its a large 6 armed giant that works great as the avatar. Sure its got weapons but if you wanted you could clip off 3 of his hands and leave them as stumps (as the description says). I wouldn't be mutilating mine but if you wanted to be accurate I suppose.

Instead I had to use an Aspect of Bane and just say "pretend he has 6 arms" :(

So check him out if your still running 3 faces. Its a heck of a cool mini.

I thought the exact same thing when I opened my starter and got one of those figures :) I happen to have two of them now. If anyone collects minis and is interested in a trade I could use some Underdark or earlier rares in exchange for it. I already have all the Wardrums minis.

I just got into d&d minis... war drums is my first experiment with them. so I open my starter box and what's stareing out at me? the very mini that I'm going to use on saturday for the ebon aspect...

It was a good omen for the game, i'll say that!

I keep getting -Orc with morningstar-. Not ncesssarily a bad thing, both because the grimlocks that make up Erythnul's sect sport morningstars, and you can never have enough foot-soldiers for when the PCs let Filge in the party and he fully intends to set them up...oooops!

Dark Archive

Drat and darn-it-all... a friend and I split the cost of a case, and dind't land an Aspect of Hextor. She's one of the players in our Age of Worms campaign, so had to just smile innocently-deviously when she pressed me to tell her why I wanted the mini so badly.

The two online sites from which we usually order minis don't have the Aspect of Hextor in stock, either. So, I might be interested in a trade. I do have some Rare Underdark figures. You can email me at kranderson57 at yahoo dot com.

I'd love to trade for an Aspect of Hextor. To date, the only Aspect I've managed to pull is Nerull from Deathknell. Let me know what you're looking for, or I can compose a list of rares that I'd be willing to trade for it and we can go from there if you're still interested.

I hate the rarity of figures thing... not being able to know what I'm buying makes me not buy, it doesn't get me into a lather to buy more, contrarty to marketing beliefs. I'd love to buy some figures if I knew what I was getting and I didn't have to sit on ebay for hours trying to decipher people's crappy photos. How about a simple on-line interface from the makers of the figures where I could choose what I want and order it? Until then, I'll use my money on other things.

Yep, I got two Hextors and no Moradin in two cases. Shoot me an email at jzack@unex.ucla.edu and we can talk. I will try and find my checklist tonight for earlier sets and see if we can't find something comparable for trade.

You mean like here?

Fantastic!

Now if they weren't so damned expensive...

And the rarity thing still persists, one figure is a buck fifty, another is 20 dollars. This is manufactured rarity for the sake of making money. Whereas I would buy 100 figures if they were a buck a piece, the cost of 20 for one piece of plastic turns me off right away. maybe I"m alone here, but that's my opinion.

While encouraging more purchases is part of it - it isn't only about that - or even mainly about it, really.

The big deal from WotC's pov is a huge savings in terms of shipping control and inventory management at wholesale and retail by just having one booster #sku instead of 96 packages and labels x9 sets+. From a retailing perspective, that's the real magic of it all.

If you do buy 2 cases of Wardrums as I did recently, you get 192 minis for about 1.45 CDN each. That's not so bad, really.

(And yes, I got two Aspects of Hextors - and I had just finished running 3FoE. Oh well - they do pop up again in the Adv Path.)

Well I didn't post this to turn it into a trade thread. :) But since its going that way....

I have 3 Aspects of Hextor sitting in my trade box actually. (I buy lots of minis :D) Unfortunatly the only stuff I really need is from the first 3 sets. I guess I could do some group trades on newer rares for one. ( bshugg at hotm@il you know the rest)
