Missing third gem in LoLR?

I was reading through LoLR last night, and I was confused a bit by the island portion before actually getting to the LoLR. The portal supposedly needs three gems, but I could only find two gems mentioned in the text.

One is in that pool, the other is buried by the statue fragments. But I read and read and couldn't find the third gem. Does this mean PCs can just use any three, or did I misread the whole section and miss another gem encounter?

I missed the third crystal for quite a while as well. However, it is there in the ruins (M3) with the ropers. There isn't a Treasure description for that specific block but the crystals are mentioned once in the description and once in the text afterwards where it states that they are located at the base of a central stalagmite.
