I am looking forward to returning home soon and getting back to gaming. I plan to run the shackled city AP but have a question that I am sure has probably been asked before.
It looks like my group could have in excess of eight players. I am curious to know if I am better off strengthening the encounters to meet their numbers. Or awarding less experience to control their advancement. Let me know what you think. And if anyone has any ideas that might help me run the AP for a larger group please let me know.

The magazine adventures had great ideas to scale the SCAP for larger, more powerful or smaller groups. These directions may be incorporated into the SCAP from the Hardcover to give you a good hint, how to adjust the Adventure Path to be enjoyable with a larger group.

The HC indicates it is written for six players. I have been going with 7-8 and they have had difficulty with many of the encounters. The biggest problem with this many people I have found is just how long things like combat and such take and that would be true of any adventure you ran this many people through.
