Thanks, Big Jake...but contrary to the credit on Paizo's website, I didn't actually do the cartography for the Village map pack. I'm guessing it's the work of Corey Macourek, but I'm not certain.
I've done most of the Compleat Encounters sets so far, and have another on my desk now, but the larger maps packs are something I haven't been able to tackle.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to try one before too long; I need to increase my productivity, though, to make room for something like that on my schedule.

I just got mine in the mail today and had a chance to look it over. Very nice maps--I love the market scene with the individual oranges, apples and fish drawn out in the market bins--very cool. I gave it 5 stars on the review, because I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of these maps. I'm going to order the whole set as they come out. I'm always looking for ways to speed up game play and make it more attractive for my players as well and this fits the bill perfectly. Nice job, guys.

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. Just this afternoon I had a great meeting with Sean Glenn, our senior art director, in which we discussed the future of the GameMastery line, and I am really, really excited about what we have in store. The Map Packs will play a very important role in that plan, and I am thrilled with the first set. We laid it all out on the table at that meeting, and I was extremely pleased with the sharpness of the imagery and the creativity of the design. Corey Macourek really hit a home run with these, and they are almost as good as his Sean Connery "Celebrity Jeapoardy" impression. Which is saying something.
I'm curious. After the Village set, we are going to publish a Graveyard set. After that, we have additional sets planned, but haven't yet decided the terrain and locales.
Any requests?

I think a lot of the basic suggestions have already been made, but I'll reiterate some favorites. A general Castle would be excellent. Temple would be grand. Forest tiles for those random wilderness encounters (complete with outlying farm perhaps). A swamp / underwater locale eventually. Now that we have the town, perhaps a city?

A set designed for random encounters could be cool:
A road through the forest (ambush on the road)
A roadside shrine to Farlanghn (encounters during a break in travel)
A campsite in a clearing (stopping for the night)
A bridge over a wide river (bandit toll booth)
A cave entrance with defendable entrances (for the hasty retreat)
A cave entrance with multiple tunnels (for the "who's on third watch?")
I've said it before, but everytime I bring out my laminated maps of an area (like the sewer map from Dragon), it makes the encounter more enjoyable. It's as big a difference as saying: okay, the orcs with bows are the drow, and the orcs with axes are the duergar, as opposed to bringing out some drow and some duegar.

Campsites in various terrain--with a prominent defendable position like a copse of trees or a small hill. The players are always bugging me to draw out their campsite with the "defendable position" like it's marked or something. I generally allow a DC10 or 15 survival roll to find something like that, so having some map tiles for that very thing would be very cool.

I received my Village map set in the mail today. Wow, am I impressed! Very nice detail on all the tiles! This set will get a lot of use in my Castles & Crusades rpg. I am going to get the graveyard set when it becomes available, too.
As for future sets, I'd like to see a multi-level keep (dungeon, ground floor, second floor, roof)consisting of about six tiles per level; a wizard's tower; a geomorphic cavern set (in fact, several of these); a good and an evil temple, another urban set or two to complement the Village pack (a two-story inn would be very useful); a Dwarven stronghold; and an Orc or Goblin stronghold.

A ruined, war-torn city near a river and a bay (*cough*Chathold*cough*).
Actually, Eric, have you considered doing various Greyhawk locations (yet to be mapped) but keeping them generic as you did with "the Free City?"

A ship! Above and below-decks. Probably a war-galley or something like that. Perhaps make it modular so that by inserting more cards you get different kinds of ship. Ships are great reusable locations. You can run a whole campaign aboard a ship.
I also think Paizo should do a Compleat Encounter of a small ship, with a mage/captain, a lackey and an animated figurehead.
Oh, and either a Compleat Encounter or Map Pack of a hedge maze that can be recombined easily into different configurations.
Keep them coming, I am so happy that the countryside Map Pack is in the works!

Hmmm... an urban map pack (large city or metropolis) would be nice. It could have a nice alleyway/street intersection, a public bath, and perhaps a library/university/college interior.
Would this be an urban SCAP map pack? : P I'm just waiting for my FLGS to get more of these in stock. They look great. I second the request for a port/ship set.
