I was wondering what the consensus is. Are those of you running AoW in the Forgotten Realms using Daggerford as printed in the old "The North" supplement or as it stands in Dungeon (albeit under the name of Diamond Lake).
I have not particular reason to use the North version, and rather like the sleaze and filth of Diamond Lake. I've not started yet (see my Help - Munchkin thread!) so my mind is not made up yet...
I'm really struggling with this, as my players were just in Daggerford in another campaign and are familiar with the NPC's. What I've done so far is make Diamond Lake an area outside Daggerford, and set the adventure five years in the future from where their old (10th-level) characters were.
The Duke, who they knew well, left town in grief after his son was killed (long story). The town went downhill rapidly after that, as described in the Overload. Unfortunately, I missed the part about Allustan being Delfen (who they know very well), so he went with the Duke. I'm hoping Spearslayer doesn't play a major part down the road - he was turned into a sizzling lump of goo by a black dragon.
That could be awkward! I am new to FR so have nothing to tie me to either version. I just prefer the grunge of the Diamond Lake.
