Cusp of Sunrise Map and Questions

Shackled City Adventure Path

Hullo all,

This is my first post. I just wanted to say that I was blown away by the Shackled City Adventure Path. I also have a two questions and a little something in return.

As to my two questions... *****THESE CONTAIN SPOILERS SO IF YOU DON'T WANT THINGS RUINED DON'T GO ANY FURTHER****

1) I am half way through Chapter Five at the moment. Way back in Life's Bazzar at the end of the adventure the orphan Terrem is wisked away back to the orphanage because the Cagewrights know that he is a shackleborn. And they figure they'll need him later. But in Zenith's Trajectory the PCs have to go and get Zenith because he is the last and final shackleborn. Well... what about Terrem? Does he ever get captured again? If not why not just use him? Maybe there is something mentioned later.

2) What happens if the players kill Zenith and don't bring his body back? It just sort of assumes that he will be brought back alive.

And as to my gift to you, heh. Here is a map of the Cusp of Sunrise: http://www.kencyclopedia.com/freelance/images/CuspOfSunris e.jpg

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks!

If you look at the rumors (page 40) you will see that rumor 40 is that Terrem has gone missing again. It also says that the last laugh picked him up...but I dont remember where.

It states in a couple of places that there are more shackeled born in the area and they will go to thier alternates if nessary. In fact one of the character creation ideas is to have one of the PC be a scackeled born!!

Wow, Sean, that map is awesome! Thank you!

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, great map and thank you for making it available to us!
This really is a great community here!!!

Sean is no stranger to maps, he does maps for Dragonlance products, and they are absolutly great.

And Sean, if I hadn't seen the links to your site, looking at the map would have jogged my memory of who you were. I recognized the name, but I couldn't figure out from where at first.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, nice work Sean. :)

Uhm.. page 40 is the Ghelve's Locks adventure in my book... Page 14-16 is the rumor section. In fact the PCs don't rescue him until page 73. I just figured that since the shackleborn needed Terrem that it might have been mentioned again somehwere in the book that he has gone missing again. But I guess it never does. I think I'm going to make a note to introduce that information again at the end of Chapter 4 when they return with Zenith. Thanks for your assistance.

Wow, thanks for the compliments guys. They are much appreciated. :) I'm glad I could lend a hand. I mean I know that the Cusp doesn't actually need a map, but it was just so well described that I wanted to do it for my own game. Speaking of DragonLance I was initially planning to convert the Shackled City over to DL but on second thought I think it work's great the way it is. So I'll probably just run it as is.

I am both flattered and a bit intimidated by this. :) Thank you Mr. West. I have to admit that it was your maps that inspired me to start doing cartography. So thanks.

Liberty's Edge

Wow. Now it's my turn to be flattered and a bit intimidated. Thanks, Sean. I remember back when I started out doing cartography, it's because I was inspired by a map that Rob Lazzaretti and his team at WotC had made. :)

Cool! My players were complaining that they wanted a map of the CoS. Now they can have one.

While you both are here, are there any tips you can give us aspiring cartographers?

for instance, do you guys make a table once or do you start off with something like CC2 Pro and then open it in Photoshop and spice it up?

I have always been curious about it....

Thanks,
Neomorte
