okay one of my players wants to play the weretiger racial class that appeared in a dragon magazine 313.
well what are the pros and cons to this class??
can the PC change at will?
for how long can he remain changed?
can he wear armor?
anyone?
One of my players in the Adventure Path is playing the weretiger class from Dragon 313. To answer your questions; yes the PC can change at will...changing form is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity...much like a druid's wildshape or a polymoprh. He can remain changed for as long as he likes...or until somehow forced to change. He can wear armor, but the armor either is ruined or falls off when changing forms. I let his magic armor resize when changing from human to hybrid form, but then it falls off when he changes into tiger form.
The pros and cons depend on your game. He'll have a good damage reduction; 10/silver at 9th level; you'll have to throw silver wearpons at him or use high damaging attacks to bypass that. He'll be big and strong and tough to kill, but at 9th level he'll only have a BAB of +4. Really, it just means he'll only have one attack until at least 11th level but his high strength makes up for the low BAB. The weretiger in my game came in at 7th level, and is now a weretiger 9/ ranger 1. He's pretty much a melee tank...right now they're fighting a lot of demons and since demons don't often use weapons he doesn't take much damage from anything.
I like having him in the group. I have had a group with 4 werewolves in it that were afflicted and would go mad during the full moon. THAT was difficult...one natural weretiger is easy.
only one attack..but aren natural claws supposed to give you 2 simultaneos attacks and then the bite will be at -5 to BAB??
EX:if he has BAB +5 :he gets 2 claws at +5
if he has BAB +7 he gets 2 claws at +7 and one bite at +2
is this correct?
in what book is this explained?
