Deal... of... Fortune!!!New Fortune Cards for D&D, plus a Gamma World expansion! It was as inevitable as the collision of peanut butter and chocolate. During my tenure at Wizards of the Coast, I was twice put in charge of teams tasked with marrying Magic: The Gathering and D&D. Both projects were eventually scrapped, but you can't keep such an obvious idea down. And so with the new Dungeons & Dragons Fortune Cards, the collectible card format has finally made its way to the core Dungeons & Dragons game. (The Magic: The Gathering setting still hasn't made the transition. Dominia must wait!) Dungeons & Dragons Fortune Cards, sold in booster packs of 8 cards, give players fun new ways to survive the challenges of the D&D Encounters in-store play program, as well as their home campaigns. These cards give characters fun, temporary benefits that feel different from the benefits gained from powers and feats, without adding undue complexity to the D&D game. Fans of the new Gamma World RPG will be pleased to learn that there's a new expansion adventure out. The radioactive wastelands of Earth are home to many bizarre and barbaric creatures. The apocalypse hasn't exactly made the world a better place. It's survival of the fittest. Time to build a new food chain. Legion of Gold presents a menagerie of mutant creatures and a ready-to-play adventure. The monsters presented herein can also be pulled over and used in the regular 4E game. The expansion includes a 160-page adventure book, including new mutant monsters; 4 sheets of die-cut mutant monster tokens; and a fold-out battle map.
