Krom Manirah |
Sorry! I moved recently and it's made me forget all my internet-based social obligations.
Krom attempts yet another hit-and-run.
S.W.R.B.C.P.A.B.S.L: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
Damage: 3d8 + 60 ⇒ (2, 6, 3) + 60 = 71
Ixrul Morcrom |
Snowball has a fort or be Staggered, so it may not have been able to attack me. Esp given that I Withdrew, which means double my speed. IDK how fast it is though.
Conc DC 27 (10+12+5): 1d20 + 11 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 9 = 25
Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Storm Dragon |
Ixrul Concentration: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
Pass.
Ixrul Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
No pass. 1d4 ⇒ 2 Con damage and 1d2 ⇒ 1 Dex damage to Ixrul.
Ixrul summons a Bearded Devil directly on top of the euryptid, and it attacks!
Glaive 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Glaive 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
The euryptid bleeds to death!
Combat over.
Ixrul Morcrom |
Ixrul looks inside the treasure skull to see what poison-preventative potions are present.
Krom Manirah |
"Last I checked we've got one Neutralize Poison potion with us. Maybe we should go back to the ship and get Sandra's help. Yet again."
Storm Dragon |
Daliya quickly took a peek to make sure the way was clear now the big bloody beast was out the way.
[dice=Perception]1d20+20
Daliya looks up and doesn't immediately see anyone or anything above; if there is anyone down here it seems they may be used to hearing splashing from below.
Curiously she doesn't hear anything. It takes a moment to place why this is so odd, but after a moment it clicks. She doesn't hear ANYTHING. Not even the blood rushing in her own ears. It's as if you spontaneously go deaf above the lip of the hole.
Ixrul looks inside the treasure skull to see what poison-preventative potions are present.
Alas, Ace shook the only one out of the cavernous skull.
So make me a few more Fort saves, pls. Up to 6 I think? AFB right now but I'll be able to check it in a few hours.
TheGuyKnownAsAce |
oh boy here we go
fort1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
2fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
fort3: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
fort4: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
fort5: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
fort6: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Ace is good as dead, eh?
Ixrul Morcrom |
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Welp I think I just died unless the ship is within 1 dimension door.
Ixrul will keep an Emergency Force Sphere ready, intimately aware of how easily a creature like this could kill him. Not actually readying an action, just letting you know I have immediate actions in the ol toolbox.
In the future, please don't roll things like initial saves if it can be avoided. I know because of the nature of PBP, it makes immediate actions hard, but they are my main answer against things like this.
Gremory Ainsworth |
Should we bring Ixruls body back to the ship or? Do we think we still have the element of surprise? We shoukd bury him at some point.
Krom Manirah |
Doesn't he have 2 more Con left? So he's breathing, but the effort is leaving him short of breath.
Gremory Ainsworth |
On second look that would seem correct. Forgot about the easy rez anyway. Would these scrolls of lesser restoration be of any use?
Gremory Ainsworth |
Gremory's character page says I have four, but I haven't updated that in a while. I don't think I've used any though.
Ixrul Morcrom |
Question - are you guaranteed 1 HP/HD? I'm not sure if my Max HP would be 3 or 11 rn.
Regardless, Ixrul will get some restorations.
Maybe 2 uses for my con so I don't die to a stray arrow, 1 for Ace's dex, and then I cast all my defensive spells and fight from 400 feet out for the rest of the day?
TheGuyKnownAsAce |
No, Ace got f#&$ed up bad by it, going by previous rolls, he is (after chugging the neutralize poison) at -7 con and -4 dex, unless I'm not understanding the neutralize potion correctly
Daliya |
I think we're pretty much going to have to flee and take the suck from the enemy being ready for us. Two party members being mostly dead will drain us a fair bit, and we can't afford to have Ace mostly dead. If he played super cautioun keepaway Ixrul might be OK. On the other hand, I'm famed for being over cautious.
Storm Dragon |
Gonna ad hoc some stuff because this delay is getting a bit ridiculous. Lemme blow the dust off Sandra's character sheet.
She has 3 Restorations prepared, and 2 Lesser Restorations. She also has Slipstream and Nondetection from her Domains, if anyone wants them.
Up to 3 people are fully cured of all Ability Damage. The round trip takes you about 10 minutes, so mark that off your buffs, and you'r enow back here. What do?
Ixrul Morcrom |
There is light above, but it's fairly dim.
The shadow demon ascends, and returns to report after a short time.
<The area above is a giant sinkhole, in which an enormous scorpion lurks.> it whispers in your mind.
<Beyond is a complex of 10 further rooms. Many of the rooms are occupied with armed men, but some mutilated prisoners and worshipers as well. A shrine to some god is the centerpiece; whose I do not recognize."
Reposting for convenience.
Ixrul relays what the Shadow Demon saw to his allies.
"It seems safe to assume that they will possess some form of divine spellcaster, maybe more than one. Probably near the central shrine. It will be difficult to fight our way there without drawing attention from the full compound."
Ixrul Morcrom |
Ixrul tries to think of reasonable guesses for which god the shrine may be to, based on the fact that it was obscure enough not to be immediately recognized and the fact that is seemingly has mutilated worshippers.
Kn Rel: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Daliya |
Well, they were healed up and as likely to succeed now as ever, so Daliya began to advance down the passage. "Which way to the Shrine?" she murmured to the Captain.
Storm Dragon |
Map updated. Leaving whole map visible since you have a good idea where everything is.
Also you all have tokens now.
TheGuyKnownAsAce |
Are the prisoners/baddies actively patrolling the room? or how viable are us right now to them?
also since Im a total brainlet when it comes to technical terms, how does one calculate HP after constitution is restored, unless Sandra has some cure wounds available?
Daliya |
Daliya moved towards the locked gate, looking to see if any of the others had a more...subtle solution than growing to gigantic size and ripping it from its hinges.
Krom Manirah |
Krom tries to make some sarcastic remark about being defeated by a locked door, only to find himself mute.
Gurram moves toward the gate, then gives Daliya a grin, and braces one of her muscular limbs against the door.
Krom looks at the rest of the crew with an "I don't see why not" expression, while pointing to his ears.
Daliya |
Shrugging, and making a more worried expression - after all, why would there be a silence spell on this area? - Daliya used her abilities to grow larger and grab the door. After a moment her form bulged even more, divine power rippling through her frame.
Strength: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Who knew Strength of the Gods would actually be useful?
Storm Dragon |
...Huh. That actually does it.
Daliya rips the gate free with the barest of effort, leaving a path for everyone to proceed through.
You rip free directly into the temple, and find a large number of cultists already arrayed against you.
Whatever magic prevents you from hearing and speaking clearly does not hinder them, as the woman at the podium opens her mouth to shout and the others seemingly obey.
It is also apparent that Ixrul's initial guess was wrong; the statue preented here is not one of Zon-Kuthon: it is clearly that of Norgorber, particularly he in his aspect as the Reaper of Reputation.
Roll your own Initiative if you wish, I'll roll anyone left over and then the Norgorberites when I get home.
Storm Dragon |
You Guys: 4d20 ⇒ (11, 1, 20, 5) = 37
Luccaria: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Norgorberites 1: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Norgorberites 2: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Ixrul (32)
Luccaria (22)
Ace (17)
Daliya (17)
Norgorberites 1 (17)
Norgorberites 2 (15)
Gremory (13)
Krom/Gurram (10)
Ixrul is up first! Since he's away until Thursday I will assume he Delays, and may jump in at any time; I'd bot him but can't find his Prepared spells anywhere.
The lead cultist visibly laughs and then summons a massive column of unholy flame directly upon you!
Damage: 12d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 5, 3, 3, 6, 6, 5, 6, 2, 6) = 52
Reflex for half; fire resistance only applies to the first 6d6.
Ace! Daliya!
Daliya |
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
I assume that doesn't beat the Reflex DC.
Daliya grunted in pain as the spell swamped her. She let out a sharp shout...but the yell of pain was swallowed by the silence. With her magic mostly unusuable so long as she couldn't speak, Daliya charged in recklessly.
To Hit: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 + 2 = 26
Damage: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (2, 6) + 12 = 20
Storm Dragon |
[dice=Reflex]1d20+4
I assume that doesn't beat the Reflex DC.
Daliya grunted in pain as the spell swamped her. She let out a sharp shout...that grew into something a little more spectacular.
[dice=Shout (DC 19 Reflex Save to Half, 30ft Cone)]5d6
Going to quote relevant text: "A shout spell cannot penetrate a silence spell.". You may change your action.
