This is a good scenario and you should take a look personally I think that the number of NPCs is a bit hard to handle and characterize, and I feel like while the final encounter is cinematic... I feel that most types of fog effects are more annoying than that they add much.
It is absolutely a good scenario and I can recommend it, but for me, it is slightly missing the mark, maybe because I have some trouble deciding what the standout feature is since its strengths are present in a lot of areas.. so I yeah. it's a good adventure but for personally slightly misses the mark for me.
On another positive note, if you are offering org play content as well, this scenario could be a very clever intro/setup for 1-03 Escaping the Grave.
One of my favorite Bounties. Ample opportunity for roleplay with a couple NPCs that actually matters. Well written, looking forward to running and playing multiple times.
I'm a bit biased because I love the undead in games, but overall I found this well written and definitely liked how the skill check outcomes factored in later.
I ran this twice, played this twice.
Playing, we had a good mix of roles, and had no issues taking down the bad guys at the end. As a GM, in one of my games, I nearly landed a TPK, but that was likely due to my extreme luck on the rolls as well as the players' team comp, too many melees did not help. Absent those outliers, I felt the game was balanced.
I really enjoyed running this one and I think players enjoyed it too. I enjoyed playing it too. Role-playing and challenge both worth the trip. My favourite one so far.
I like all things undead and creepy which is, well, Ustalav. So loved the setting for this mini story and the mission the party is tasked with. The eeriness is heightened more by the author along the journey with a good mix of skill checks along the way. The encounter did not feel trivial, as many other bounties I've played have. It presented a decent challenge but not overly so provided you understand what you're fighting. I look forward to running this myself for others.
Look at that art in this bounty
Seriously, if the adventure -where nothing at all happens- wasn't worth the price alone, (which be assured it definitely is) that art most certainly takes it to the next level
