Wilhimina |
Desna comes down and whispers in Whisper's ear, "Use the reroll Whisper. Use it and feel lucky!"
But seriously, whatever you want to do.
Whisperer |
Critical damage does not double precision dice, or special weapon abilities, so at most it would be adding is my base d6... probably not worth it. :(
Mari Clock |
Wilhimina, don't forget this: Spontaneous Casting: A good warpriest (or a neutral warpriest of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that he did not prepare ahead of time. The warpriest can expend any prepared spell that isn't an orison to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower. A cure spell is any spell with "cure" in its name.
Wilhimina |
Yeah but spells provoke. I'm better off using fervor, I just have to stay up long enough to do so...
Whisperer |
"Guess I got your attention, eh?"
Continues to attack the sorcerer.
attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 2 = 22
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
sneak_damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
good_damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Whisperer |
If that doesn't take the sorcerer out,I will add a 5 foot step to the south of the Sorcerer to give the warpriest a chance to do healy stuff should she so choose
Wilhimina |
If Whisper's attack doesn't end the fight, Wilhimina will 5 foot to continue to give Whisper the flank, and spend another point of Fervor to touch the pirate. "May Desna bless you with healing!"
Healing Fervor: 1d6 ⇒ 5
At least Marshala is stable!
Marshala |
Marshala lays on the floor near Balth and reconsiders her professional choices...
Praise Desna! Who woulda thought of the Goddess of Fate as being less fickle than the sea?
Whisperer |
I am a little lost... It's Bellu's turn, right?
Wilhimina |
She can always split her attacks between the two of us still standing. I don't think one hit will kill Whisper (though it might drop him), or drop me (though a full attack would probably kill me).
Marshala |
I AM AN IDIOT.
Can I redo Marshala's turn? I forgot she has Fey foundling, she would have gotten an extra 2 points of healing from Wihimina, which brings her to 1. She should be able to channel and put up copycat, without getting up.
Unngh Marshala groans unintelligibly. Opening one eye, she quickly takes stock and calls on Besmara for positive energy and a quick bit of trickery.
channel: 1d6 ⇒ 2 excluding both eidolon and summoner, as well as the 2 prize fighters (if in range and still fighting)
A second prone figure identical to Marshala appears on the floor next to her. (Copycat is a move action.)
Whisperer |
I don't know the tactics they are supposed to use but at this point it makes sense to go after Whisper... she could split between me and Wilhimina but that would depend on the success of the first attack.
Mari Clock |
This is Round 4
Bellu Blue _ dmg
Balthazar
Wilhimina
Whisper
Lura Red 40 dmg
Marshala
Bellu will five foot step in between Wilhimina and Whisper and split her attack.
The 1st Slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 will deal 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 5) + 10 = 19 damage to Wilhimina if it hits.
The 2nd Slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 will deal 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 16 damage to Whisper if it hits.
Balthazar is still too low on HP to do anything, but at least he's stable, so now it is Wilhimina's turn.
Wilhimina |
Balthazar is stable, Marshala is awake. Question, is that table actually there to the right of Wilhimina, or can she 5 foot to that square?
Marshala |
Marshala will use a move action to stand up this round, 5ft to Balth and drop her last non-domain spell to cast cure light wounds on Balth.
"Git up, Scoundrel, we need ye." She mutters, though it sounds more like acknowledgement than insult.
cure: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Whisperer |
Thanks to the timely channel from our beloved pirate Whisper still has two hit points left! Once Wilhimina 5 foots over to the sorcerer, Whisper will 5 ft over and use the flank to attack.
attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 = 24
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
sneak_damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
good_aligned_damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Mari Clock |
Even if you don't get your flank.
Lura is down and her summoned eidolon disappears. Also on Lura's defeat, Weigo, the bartender, congratulates on your success and offers you a cut of the night's proceeds and offers a round of drinks in honor of his unexpected "promotion" as new owner, rather than just bartender.
Whisper: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Marshala: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Wilhimina: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Balthazar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Wilhimina and Marshala notice a wooden cabinet behind the bar that appears locked up tight.
Wilhimina |
Yay!
Wilhimina will nudge Whisper, and point out the cabinet. She'll then turn to the new owner, "You say you own this place now? Great. We did something for you, now you do something for us. There's this alchemist, Senzer? We're going to need you to lay off him and his kin. If our business with him gets disrupted again, this is the first place we'll come looking, and you see how well that went this time around..." She'll trail off suggestively.
Depending on what you consider that:
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 1 - 4 = 0
Or
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Balthazar Khole |
Balthazar gasps as Besmara's blessing flows into him. After a quick panicked look around for the eidolon, he picks himself up off the floor.
"That thing hits like an ogre!" he groans, ejecting a wand from its spring-loaded sheath and tapping himself with it, muttering the command word in Infernal. "Talk about strong minded!"
He takes the offered round, nursing the drink and his wounds, tapping himself with the wand once every minute or so.
Balthazar has a wand of infernal healing, so he gains 1 hp/round for one minute per charge. He's planning on using 3 charges, do he'll be at full unless there's another encounter in less than 3 minutes.
Marshala |
Marshala reminds herself to buy a wand next time she's in Absalom, for the umpteenth time. She will use her pearl of power to recall the Command spell and immediately burn it as a cure light on herself.
cure: 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 = 13
Glancing at the bartender to ensure he's not about to object (and picking up a mug of whatever he's offering), she moves to inspect the cabinet.
Wilhimina |
While waiting for the bartender to respond, Wilhimina will move up to touch Marshala, switching out a bless for a cure light.
Cure: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Whisperer |
Whisper will put his heal stick in Wilhimina's and and commence hitting himself with her hand.
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Then he will "heal check" the sorcerer...
sleight_of_hand: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Did I accidentally find anything...like a key to the locked cabinet?
Otherwise Whisper will wait for the talkers in the group to clear him a chance to disable device the locked cabinet.
Balthazar Khole |
Balthazar smiles at his comrades.
"You could use my wand if you'd like to conserve your daily resources." His grin grows larger, briefly flashing pointed teeth. "Of course, some are... uncomfortable with the temporary effects."
Whisperer |
"We'll take the elixir that was promised to Stenzer. Is it in this cabinet?"
Wilhimina |
We'll make sure it's the elixir we're looking for, and then leave this guy to his new gig. Unless anyone has any other ideas, we'll head back to Senzer, give him the stuff, and make sure he starts up his supplies again. Am I missing anything?
Mari Clock |
Assuming you get the elixir that Senzer needs and you take it back to him, he keeps his word and he gives you the item(s) you need so you can be on your way.
You're now ready to make your way north out of the Vanji River Basin and into the Terwa Uplands.
If anything, the blistering heat of the Garund plains grows more intense away from the coast. The trade routes cut through winding switchbacks, avoiding the marshiest ground and occasionally crossing a shallow river gorge.
As the caravan crests a hill on the edge of a large river gorge, sudden activity silences the ambient jungle noise. Armed guards pile out of the foliage. An ebon-skinned woman strides out alongside them, brushing back her tresses and grinning from ear to ear. “Let’s not mince words, Pathfinders. Give me the key you carry, and I shall let you continue on your way. Refuse, and my men will toss you in the river and you can swim to your destination.”
While you are not obligated to fight, just in case a fight breaks out I'll do Initiatives now:
Whisper: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Marshala: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Wilhimina: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Balthazar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Guards (4): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Xeanja: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
This is Round 1
Guard Blue _ dmg
Guard Red _ dmg
Guard Orange _ dmg
Guard Green _ dmg
PARTY
Xeanja _ dmg
For the first round, since Whisper and the Guards have the same Init (and the same modifier) I'll let Whisper go first, but for future rounds I'll have the guards go at the top of the round, immediately after Xeanja, so I can just post the once and be done.
Whisperer |
sorry so late with this
disable_device: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 13 + 2 = 30
Balthazar Khole |
"Now that we have what we came for, we'll be on our way!" Balthazar smiles again, vaguely threatening, as the party files out of the bar. "Enjoy your new establishment."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"Pathfinders? Key? I think you may have us confused with another ragtag gang of murder hobos..." he quips, readying his knife.
Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 4
What are the guards armed with?
Would I have to wait for my initiative to cut myself?
Marshala |
"We do be havin' nothin' o' yours. Who be ye, anyway?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Mari Clock |
Xeanja does all the talking.
Looking at Balthazar, You look incredibly shifty. I think it is probably you that has the key.
To Marshala, I think you do. Give me the key.
The guards are equipped with a sap, a scimitar, and a light crossbow. Is your cutting yourself something you would have done before you came across these individuals, or something you would do as part of a combat readiness?
Wilhimina |
"Why do you need to be shifty to carry a key?" Wilhimina asks, clearly confused. "By that logic, I can never lock my door, nor could paladins or anyone else that always tries to tell the truth!"
Yes, she's being a brat...
Whisperer |
Whisper is just going to shift to the side of the road and let the pretty people do their thing
Marshala |
Marshala barks a laugh at Wilhimina's comment. "Then paladins o' Abadar be in quite a squall, they do."
Turning back to Xeanja, "Ye did no answer me question. Who be ye and why be ye in our way, much less be thinkin' we be having anything o yourn?"
do I need a second diplo roll?
Balthazar Khole |
Are their crossbows out?
It's called out as a standard action, and it'd be done as part of combat prep, as a reaction to these upstanding citizens confronting us, and if possible as part of a display meant to unsettle.
