3/5

Not a bad mini, but nothing special. The color scheme was good and it's definitely recognizable as a bear, so I don't have any grounds to complain. On the other hand, it's just uninspiring. Acceptable, I guess, for a less than memorable low-CR encounter.

I agree...

I like the gold motives and the paint job. But as Lady aurora told the "human standing" pose is not suited for a black bear even if a Celestial one. This is the perfect example of a good paint job with "no punch". No rage, no wildness. All that a bear should be.

Too friendly for me

I don't collect miniatures but do use them for roleplaying. This mini is okay but not at all intimidating as I'd like it to be. I'm not sure if the scale is off or what but it just isn't scary or even impressive. I grew up around real black bears and though smaller than a brown bear they still demand a healthy respect. I realize this one is a "good" bear but does that translate into wimpy? It's still useful; it just doesn't bring any bang to the table. More like a yawn. Bottom line - not an impressive addition to my collection.
