Starts off with continuity error

2/5

This take place next to Cassomir and Hestia Themis is the VC for the Cassomir lodge - she's not even an obscure PF1 figure, she's IN pf2. Bringing in Lolly from the Opara lodge to give the briefing on this is just wrong.

After that the scenario is fine, both as a GM and a player. Pretty average. My players were quite satisfied with the final fight (low-tier).

All the same color

2/5

Having the cards all the same color limits their functionality. The PF1 cards had a different color for each condition, so it was easy to organize and faster to find the condition you were after.

Not enough room

2/5

Bleh. The art is fantastic as usual, but the layout itself is horrible! They don't accommodate Large characters well, and the cargo holds certainly aren't holding the vehicles and power armor people bring on these missions. The Drake at least has an open enough floorplan - the hallways in the Pegasus are a convoluted mess.

And why do you need 3 toilets for 6 people!?

Sarcesians, Izalguns, Morlamaws & Uplifted Bears should sue the society for not complying with accessibility.

A random hodgepodge of monsters with no explanation

1/5

Apparently a place that's lasted hundreds of years completely falls apart by letting it sit for a year and a half. And then goes through and picks planer monsters out of a hat to populate it without any explanation of what happened or how they got there. None of them are willing to talk to you and explain anything, and you just bounce from one to the next. Oh, and don't fail any of the random skill checks along the way or you loose gold.

And then there's

The Reveal:
Your guide the whole time has been a shapeshifter (yet another random monster with no explanation) posing as your guide. While you've got the writer of Petulengro's Validation right there the whole time and not suspecting anything. You know, the Decemvirate member who's a mistress of Divination who should have seen this coming?

Our GM tried very hard to make this enjoyable, but didn't know 1st Ed lore. And two of the three other players at the table were players I took through Eyes of the Ten myself. It was such a let-down to see such a nostalgic place reduced to what felt like a bunch of random encounters between skill checks.

Compared to the Pathfinder cards, very 'meh'

3/5

I've gotten a ton of use out of the pathfinder condition cards over the years, so I was quite excited to order the starfinder cards, and they finally arrived last night. And... meh.

The big issue: the colors. The pathfinder cards were easy to sort through because each card type had its own color. Group them together and its easy to find the card you want. Now they're all black with orange borders. Every card looks the same, so you're digging through the whole deck.

As to content, I'd have liked to see the field conditions in here too. Charging/running, (partial)cover, (total)concealment, fighting defensively/full defense, flanking/? and ?/squeezing. Cards for Dead and Unconscious are not that needed.

Good, but some map problems

4/5

I had a fun time with the scenario in general. The first space fight took a long time though.

Regarding the starfield maps. They're nice and pretty, but trying to mark the asteroid field from the quest on them, in ANY color, is hard to see on black. Also, trying to print them out is a LOT of black ink. I'm not sure what to do about this (Space is dark...) but please come up with something that's easier on the printer and on the eyes.
