Left PF for 5e. Saw the playtest and bought the book.

Just wanted to say thank you for getting the gnome right.

"Shadow Well (Sp): At 9th level, you can use the Stealth skill even while being observed and without cover or concealment, as long as you are within 10 feet of a shadow other than your own."

So if I have a familiar (perhaps via Eldritch Heritage), and I am within 10 feet of his shadow, I can use Stealth as per above? Just making sure that's not too cheesy.

Question 1

Does my opponent get an attack of opportunity if I successfully use Bluff to create a diversion to hide? In 3.5, under the Bluff description, it reads:

"Creating a Diversion to Hide

You can use the Bluff skill to help you hide. A successful Bluff check gives you the momentary diversion you need to attempt a Hide check while people are aware of you. This usage does not provoke an attack of opportunity."

I'm assuming PF rules are the same, as PF mentions this use of Bluff under Stealth, but doesn't really flesh out the specifics like 3.5.

I wasn't sure if "this usage does not provoke an attack of opportunity" applied to the Bluff check only or if it applied to the entire combination of Bluff + Move + Stealth. I'm hoping it's the latter as it would not do me much good to avoid an attack of opportunity on the successful Bluff check, only to take one when I moved away to hide.

Question 2

I am going to play a tiefling with a prehensile tail. If I grab a smokestick as a swift action and then activate it (I would assume as a standard action), do I take an attack of opportunity?

Advanced Race Guide wrote:
Adaptable Luck: Some halflings have greater control over their innate luck. This ability gives them more options for how they can apply their good fortune from day to day, but also narrows its scope. Three times per day, a halfling can gain a +2 luck bonus on an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. If halflings choose to use the ability before they make the roll or check, they gain the full +2 bonus; if they choose to do so afterward, they only gain a +1 bonus. Using adaptive luck in this way is not an action. This racial trait replaces halfling luck.

If you use this after rolling a natural 1 on a save, does it change the result to a 2, meaning you could possibly make the save?

Posted primarily for the elf pic, although the beating part was pretty funny too.

I am going to take this feat from Spes Magna Games' Latina Facta & Versatile Performance Redux:

"Aequam Memento Rebus in Arduis Servare Mentem. (General)
Remember to maintain a calm mind while doing difficult tasks.
Prerequisite: Wis 13.
Benefit: When attempting a skill check that faces a DC of 25 or higher, add your Wisdom modifier to your die roll."

My question is would this feat apply to opposed checks if the result of my opponent's roll is 25 or higher (the result of his roll being my DC in a sense)?

In 3.5, the SRD appears to make a distinction between skills that have a DC and opposed checks:

In PF, less of a distinction is made:

Thanks in advance for your help!

Can you Hunch, Sense Enchantment, and Discern Secret Message simultaneously? Or must they be done back to back to back?

Phrased differently, assume each task above takes 1 minute. Would it take a full 3 minutes to perform them, or could you just "Sense Motive" and accomplish all 3 in 1 minute?

Can the normal use of Intimidate (not the Demoralize thing) be used on animals to make them friendly?

They were shorter than humans in 2nd and 3rd edition (not sure about 1st edition). I guess I'll always think of them as point guards and not centers.

Arms and Equipment Guide (3.0 I think) wrote:
Size and Range: Larger and smaller versions of ranged weapons have correspondingly longer or shorter range increments. Each time you increase a weapon’s size, lengthen its range increment by 25%. For example, Huge longbows, such as those wielded by ogre mages, have a range increment of 125 feet. Each time you decrease a weapon’s size, shorten its range increment by 25%. A Medium-size longbow in the hands of a halfling has a range increment of 75 feet.

I've heard that in that in 3.5 these range penalties went away. Is this true and does anyone know where this is documented? And if the penalties went away in 3.5, I'm assuming that they are not included in PF either?
