The belt makes the wearer "immune to effects that would push, pull, or forcefully move the wearer."

Is trip a form of forced movement?

Would this be different if it was being worn while riding a mount? Being dismounted results in falling damage (1d6), which indicates movement is involved.

At level 1, a Neutral cleric of a Neutral Deity can choose to channel either positive or negative energy, and the choice cannot be changed.

What happens if the cleric changes alignment? Channeling energy is not defined as a good or evil act (and this is supported by healing and inflict spells not having either the good or evil descriptor).

Assuming a cleric continues to worship the same Neutral Deity, if a cleric chooses to channel negative energy, then becomes good, what happens?

Core Rulebook, pg 40 wrote:
A neutral cleric of a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric can cast spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting).

Do they loose access to the class feature, since they no longer meet the requirements, or do they continue to channel negative energy?

If they change channeled type (to positive), this could create a slippery slope where alignment flops back and forth depending on what they expect to face (I'm neutral today, I'm good today), etc.

This is for PFS...

My Paladin recently acquired a divine bond Animal Companion and I wanted to give it a bonus to the Fly skill. With limited options, I opted for a +2 intelligence Ioun stone. In addition to the skill ranks and +2 intelligence, it granted the beast an additional language.

This got me to wondering. The ioun stone grants it an additional lanaguage known. It obviously understand, but can it speak?

Due to PFS ruling on animal companions and speach, I'd initially think
"no,", but this is a magical effect.

What about other items like the Gold Nodule Ioun stone, which specifically grant an additional language?

For reference, the divine Bond is a Griffon (Monsterous mount feat), which is a Magical Beast. Plus, the character has the Celestial Servant feat (still a Magical Beast). By default, it can understand Common, but not speak it.

Or is "speak with animals" still the only way to communicate with an AC, no matter what?

First off, this is primarily for PFS; I'm posting in both the rules forum as well as the PFS forum, so as to hopefully get more Dev input.

Both allow you to apply a metamagic feat to a specific spell and reduce the total level by 1. Neither indicates that it is a trait bonus.

Do they work together on the same spell? I don't think they should, but I'm not sure there's RAW to support it and I'm starting to see it on more and more characters.

*FYI, Wayang Spellhunter is the Pathfinder name of the feat; Metamagic Master is what it has been renamed to in the SRD*

Calm emotions has a lot of things listed that it does.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/c/calm-emotions

Spoiler:
This spell calms agitated creatures. You have no control over the affected creatures, but calm emotions can stop raging creatures from fighting or joyous ones from reveling. Creatures so affected cannot take violent actions (although they can defend themselves) or do anything destructive. Any aggressive action against or damage dealt to a calmed creature immediately breaks the spell on all calmed creatures.

This spell automatically suppresses (but does not dispel) any morale bonuses granted by spells such as bless, good hope, and rage, and also negates a bard's ability to inspire courage or a barbarian's rage ability. It also suppresses any fear effects and removes the confused condition from all targets. While the spell lasts, a suppressed spell, condition, or effect has no effect. When the calm emotions spell ends, the original spell or effect takes hold of the creature again, provided that its duration has not expired in the meantime.

Does this stop affected creatures from approaching the caster? An Alraune has an aura that basically makes creatures save against this effect every round. Does this prevent creatures from moving towards other creatures (including the Alraune)?

I was browsing through Inner Sea combat and came across the Iroran Paladin Archetype. I thought "Awesome, that + Monk, then Champion of Irori." Flip, flip... *facepalm*

Champion of Irori requires Smite Evil; Irorian Paladin gives that up for "Personal Trial." Doh.

Browsing the SRD, the only things I found that give Smite evil is...

3 levels in Chevalier.

The Inheritor's Crusader 'stacks' levels with Paladin for SE (so I guess you'd get it at level 1), BUT, that requires you to worship Iomedae.

Is there any other PFS legal way to get Smite Evil?

In the PFS FAQ, for characters with the 'poison use' class feature, there is a short list of "always available" poisons.

Some of the early scenarios give chronicle sheets that list poisons, but not purchase limits (like newer ones do). Has there been any ruling that puts a purchase limit on them?

Does the general availability of poisons follow the normal rules for Fame? For example, if I have 5 Fame (500 gp max), can I buy (or craft) Woundweal (Adventurer's Armory, 100 gp, legal for play)?

... or can you only purchase poisons not on that list if they're on a Chronicle sheet?

One of my characters recently picked up a Griffon as an animal companion; in my review of the flying rules, I figured it was a good idea to increase its fly skill.

browsing through various item sources, I haven't found a lot that increases fly skill (without being used as part of an item that gives the ability to fly).

so far, I have the following:

--Sable Company Elite Saddle (slotless; +5 comp fly to mount, +5 ride to rider, and Feather fall to rider if unsaddled)
--Intelligence headband. gives +ranks and a language.
--cracked deep red sphere IS. + comp bonus to a dex skill

**Scarlet and Blue sphere IS: this gives +2 enhancement to intelligence, but lacks the language about it containing a skill (like the headband). Has there been any errata about this? (otherwise, i can see shenanigans with putting stone on, getting extra SP, removing stone and getting a free 'retrain' of skill points)

Are there any other items that increase Fly skill?

On a related note, what all effects can unsaddle a rider? I assume bull rush, drag, reposition. Grapple will work unless mount hovers (since rider is stationary and mount moves).

Will trip work? The rider isn't standing on its feet... legless and flying creatures are generally not affected by trip.

Flying creatures cannot be tripped... what happens to the rider if the flying mount is knocked prone, via something like overrun?

If a rider counts as occupying all of its mount's squares, is it only 'unsaddled' if all squares are removed from the mount's space? (via bull rush, drag, reposition, etc)

I've recently come across many threads discussing whether or not a melee touch attack counts as a light weapon for purposes of weapon finesse. Unarmed Strikes and natural weapons are both specifically included, but there is no mention of melee touch attacks.

I searched the SRD (and verified when possible with the PRD) for "melee touch" and "weapon finesse." Every creature I found that possessed both (listed below) used their dexterity for hit bonus.

Would this not represent a de facto ruling by Paizo that a melee touch attack is usable with the Weapon Finesse feat?

Can anyone provide a Paizo published monster sample that has weapon finesse and doesn't use their dex to attack with weapon finesse? Are there other examples of monsters with Finessed touch attacks?(I may have missed something)

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsters/stirge.html#_stirge

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsters/willOWisp.html#_will-o-wisp (assuming their touch is a secondary attack; if not, no formula works)

plus, here are a couple in the SRD from various Paizo publications:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/unique-monsters/cr-10/lamia-matriarch-rogu e-2 (assuming her touch is a Secondary Attack; if not, no formula works) (Hook Mountain Massacre)

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/npc-s/npc-18/blood-lord-human-lich-aristoc rat-4-necromancer-13 (NPC Codex)

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/oozes/colour-out-of-space (assuming their touch is a Secondary Attack; if not, no formula works) (bestiary 4)

Plus, incorporeal undead use their dex instead of strength (which is "-") for their touch attacks

There is also the rusalka with staggering touch; the power says the rusalka must touch the target, but does not specifically call it a melee touch attack in the stat block

http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary3/rusalka.html#_rusalka

**Edit** for those creatures listed with a high BAB, they don't get iterative attacks, which makes me think their touch attacks qualify as "natural weapons." thoughts?

In a recent thread, a few questions were asked about this feat with a bow...

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qysa?Weapon-Versatility-feat-and-Ranged-Weapon s

How does it interact with other feats and abilities that apply specifically to damage type?

a) Swashbuckler's Weapon Finesse + other Swashy goodness. If you make your Rapier deal slashing damage, is it still affected by SWF

b) Swashbuckler Weapon Finesse and other weapons... if you make your Unarmed Strike/Katana/whatever deal Piercing damage, is it now affected by SWF?

c) If you make a keen weapon deal bludgeoning damage, does it still have expanded threat range?

d) If you make an Alchemical Arrow (Alchemy Manual) deal bludgeoning or slashing damage, do you still benefit from their effects?

I recently made a Summoner and Eidolon and gave them both reach attacks, Combat Reflexes, and Paired Opportunist; I imagined PO would work for things like...

a) if target X provokes AoO, but has cover from S, but not E, both still get AoO
b) target X tries to tumble past S and E, passes E's CMD but not S's, both still get AoO...
c) target X tries to trip S (without improved trip), both get AoO

but in a thread I came across, posters were stating that the feat effectively gave both characters feats that grant AoOs if one has it...

So if Summoner has feats like Vicious Stomp and Greater Trip, Eidolon also gets AoO from both? Is this correct?

For things like Vicious Stomp, character with the feat must make an unarmed strike; is the character without the feat also required to make the same type of AoO?

Paizo has been pretty clear that things like splash weapons and ranged touch attacks (rays) usually follow the normal rules for weapons: penalties for shooting into melee, able to take Weapon Focus and Weapon specialization, etc. I haven’t seen as much clarification with melee touch attacks (or I just haven’t found it). There has also been surprisingly little I’ve uncovered on these boards as well.

Spoiler:

Touch Spells in Combat: Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) as a free action. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

Touch Attacks: Touching an opponent with a touch spell is considered to be an armed attack and therefore does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The act of casting a spell, however, does provoke an attack of opportunity. Touch attacks come in two types: melee touch attacks and ranged touch attacks. You can score critical hits with either type of attack as long as the spell deals damage. Your opponent's AC against a touch attack does not include any armor bonus, shield bonus, or natural armor bonus. His size modifier, Dexterity modifier, and deflection bonus (if any) all apply normally.

Holding the Charge: If you don't discharge the spell in the round when you cast the spell, you can hold the charge indefinitely. You can continue to make touch attacks round after round. If you touch anything or anyone while holding a charge, even unintentionally, the spell discharges. If you cast another spell, the touch spell dissipates. You can touch one friend as a standard action or up to six friends as a full-round action. Alternatively, you may make a normal unarmed attack (or an attack with a natural weapon) while holding a charge. In this case, you aren't considered armed and you provoke attacks of opportunity as normal for the attack. If your unarmed attack or natural weapon attack normally doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity, neither does this attack. If the attack hits, you deal normal damage for your unarmed attack or natural weapon and the spell discharges. If the attack misses, you are still holding the charge.

emphasis mine.

1) With the bolded part, is it safe to assume you would set off a held charge if either hand touches something?

2) This doesn’t list the action type to make a single touch attack (it is an attack, not an attack action), and it is possible to touch up to 6 friends as a full round action (they aren’t trying to avoid you or attack you). If the answer to 1) is yes, does that mean you could use two-weapon fighting (2WF) to make multiple touch attacks in a round (assuming either you don’t hit the first time or you have multiple touches), with appropriate 2WF penalties?

3) Could a Magus using Spell Combat/Spellstrike deliver a spell attack through a Flame Blade (since it counts as a scimitar)?

4) Could you 2WF a Flame Blade and touch spell (like chill touch or shocking grasp)?

5) Unarmed Strikes and Natural weapons can both count as light weapons, but I can’t find anything on melee touch attacks; can you use Weapon Finesse on a melee touch attack?

6) Flame blade counts as a Scimitar and doesn’t let you use add your Strength bonus for damage; Dervish Dance lets you add your dex instead of your strength. Is it safe to assume Flame Blade + Dervish Dance will not add your Dex to damage?

In Inner Sea Gods, they release the Evangelist class. As it is currently worded, the Align feature can be any class, but not limiting what type of class (aka, can be a PrC).

So... if I retrain PrC classes into Evanglist (Ultimate Campaign FAQ only restricts base to PrC) and they later errata the retraining to not allow this, what happens?

I assume I would swap Evangelist levels back for the same PrC I originally used, but would I get the Prestige back from retraining?

For the purposes of Animal Archive allowed magic item slots does the Griffon count as an Avian or a Quadraped (claws/paws)? For PFS, the feats for the extra slots must be purchased.

Pro Avian: the griffon has wings and flies. Pictures of griffons sometimes show them holding objects in one of their talons; the Avian entry has a *, which allows it to hold an object in a claw, whereas the Quad (claws) does not.

Pro Quad (claws): on the ground, a griffon walks on 4 claws.

The same question would probably apply equally to a hippogriff. wings, 2 claws, 2 hooves... Avian, Quad (claws), or Quad (hooves)?

The difference is that the Avian can use belts (not just saddles) and rings, while the Quad can use saddles (only) and Shoulder items.

I ran a scenario today when a player had to step out for an hour for a family emergency. He played 2 encounters, missed one, and was back for the last one (the group did all 4 encounters). The encounter he missed had 2/3 of the gold for the entire scenario.

What are the rules for that? Does the player loose on the gold and items?

For playing a specific mod, you get the Confirmed Field Agent boon. It says "if this is the first time you have received this boon for any of your characters," you get a free item.

Does this apply once for playing and once for DMing?

Spoiler:
Confirmed Field Agent: Having successfully completed and documented your Confirmation, one of
the Three Masters has formally recognized you as a field agent and given you a wayfinder engraved with
your name and the date of your graduation. If this is the first time you have received this boon for any of
your characters, you receive this wayfinder for free; otherwise, you may acquire it by spending 1 Prestige
Point. Furthermore, if you assign this Chronicle sheet to a character whose starting XP is 0, you reduce
the Prestige Point cost of any wayfinder enhancement vanities you purchase to modify this wayfinder by 1
(minimum 1).

In PFS, there is no way to retrain your Favored Class bonus.

At level 1, you create an Elf or Aasimar Oracle and take the extra revelation feat. You take a favored class bonus for the revelation gained by the feat.

The ARG ruling states that you cannot have a favored class bonus from a revelation you do not have...

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2q9f7&page=3?The-ARG-race-restriction-and-f avored-class

What happens with your favored class bonus if you retrain the feat (granting the extra revelation), retrain your mystery (to one that does not offer the revelation), or retrain all levels of Oracle?

ok, in 2 scenarios I've played, I've gained access to an intelligent magic item.

Is it possible to upgrade an item from its base type to the intelligent version (assuming you follow normal upgrade rules)?

Specifically, the item is a mithral weapon and I want to get it as an arcane bond. If I purchase the appropriate mithral weapon type, then do the bonding ritual, can I then pay 1/2 the cost to upgrade it to the intelligent version on the Chronicle sheet?

In the Alchemy Manual, there is a new Barbarian Archetype, the Drunken Rager.

"Drunken Rage (Ex): At 1st level, a drunken rager can
drink a unit of ale or other strong alcohol while raging to
gain 1 drunken rage point. The act of drinking is a standard
action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
At 1st
level, the barbarian can have a maximum of 1 drunken
rage point; this maximum increases by 1 every 2 levels
thereafter. These drunken rage points last for 1 hour or
until spent, whichever comes first. The barbarian can use
drunken rage points only while raging. Unless otherwise
noted, spending a drunken rage point is a free action." (emphasis mine)

The Drunken Master (monk) can drink as a standard (same wording as above), with a feat to reduce to a swift...

The Drunken Brute (barbarian) can do a potion or Tankard of ale as a move action ...

So, is there any way we can speed this up? a shot of whiskey (1 oz) is a drink, and a potion is 1 oz... would the accelerated drinker trait work here? just put your whiskey in your old potion bottles?

"Physical Description: A typical potion or oil consists of 1 ounce of liquid held in a ceramic or glass vial fitted with a tight stopper. The stoppered container is usually no more than 1 inch wide and 2 inches high. The vial has Armor Class 13, 1 hit point, hardness 1, and a break DC of 12"

I know that normally, when retraining, you cannot retrain a prerequisite. What if you still had the prereq from a different source?

For example, I take Endurance as a level 1 feat, then Diehard at level 3, and Stalwart at level 5. Somewhere along the way, I pick up a Scarlet and Green Ioun stone (grants Endurance Feat). Can I retrain the Endurance Feat since I still have it from the item (which IS legal for meeting prereqs)

BTW, this is for PFS.

The text of Stalwart feat says that you

"While using the total defense action, fighting defensively action, or Combat Expertise, you can forgo the dodge bonus to AC you would normally gain to instead gain an equivalent amount of DR, to a maximum of DR 5/—, until the start of your next turn." Emphasis mine

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/stalwart

If you're using Total defense (3 ranks acrobatics and crane stance) and combat reflexes with a BAB of +4, that would normally give you a +6 dodge bonus. With the limitation on Stalwart, would that give you:

a) DR 5/-

or

b) DR 5/- and +1 dodge AC

also, can you choose to take a lesser bonus when using feats like Combat Expertise and Power attack (so that way you would only take a -1 hit for +1 AC instead of -2/+2)?

While I am aware that Improved Unarmed Strike is a prerequisite for Improved Grapple, I've noticed that creatures don't follow this. The ONLY 2 monsters in the PRD that have IG and Natural attacks do NOT have IUS.

beastiary 3 (2011):
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary3/siyokoy.html#_siyokoy
http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary3/asura.html#_asura,-upasunda

Since rule changes always follow the most recently published source (for example, things like Universal Monster rules and changes to Brass Knuckles with Monk Unarmed Strikes), would that apply in this situation?

Does this represent a de facto allowance for creatures with natural attacks to ignore IUS as a prerequisite for feats (or at least, for Improved Grapple)? Would this extend to animal companions and eidolons?

For reference, I did find a few other creatures in SRD (not an official Pathfinder/Paizo document) that have Improved Grapple, but all were adventure paths/modules/PFS scenarios (which are well known to invent rules when they choose) or were non-Paizo. Some (like the Rorkoun in Kingmaker) do not have IUS with IG, but some do (like the Raelis Azata in Shattered Star) do have both IUS and IG.

In the Core rulebook, it states that if you choose feats, but no longer meet the prerequisites, you no longer have access to the feat.

Normally, I assume this would be due to ability damage or drain, but are there other ways?

Can you use magic items to meet prerequisites? For example, if you had an 11 Dex and a wayfinder slotted a Deep Red Sphere Ioun Stone (granting both +2 Dex and Improved Unarmed Strike), would that allow you to take Dodge (prereq 13 dex) and Crane Style (prereq Dodge and IUS), loosing access to all the above if you lost the wayfinder or took 1 point of dex damage?

Title says it all. From the ones I've read, most (but not all) state that they count as their component classes for the purposes of feats, magic, items, etc. For example, a Swashbuckler counts as a fighter and a gunslinger for qualifying for feats. Can it take Defender of the Society, a fighter only trait?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

Long Ago, DnD emerged from second edition. 3.0 it was called, and it evolved into 3.5. WotC offered this new edition under the OGL, and it was good.

When they tired of their creation, they abandoned their spawn and created 4th edition.

3.5 had many issues that remained unresolved; many more were resolved by the creators, their wisdom passed along in revered (and maligned) documents we recognize as "FAQ."

Then along came Paizo. These restless developers saw the abandoned 3.5, saw that it was good despite the inherent flaws, and made it better. They expanded on it to create that which we call "Pathfinder."

Yet, as disciples of Pathfinder, we also have many questions. Many of these questions were previously resolved by the 3.5 FAQs. Yet in the years that Paizo has been nurturing Pathfinder, many questions addressed in 3.5 FAQs have not been clarified in Pathfinder FAQs.

Is this to test our faith? Or is it that these "3.5 FAQs" remain valid, unless they declare otherwise in their "Pathfinder FAQs," or even in their direct communications with the faithful via these message boards?

Ok, a bit silly, but I just watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail and couldn't resist.

Simply put, as the title says it all, Much of the OGL content was brought directly into Pathfinder in the Core book and some supplements afterwards (I haven't read them all, 3.5 or Pathfinder), often unchanged from the original wording. Much of this was clarified in 3.5 FAQs, however, many of the same questions re-emerged, and in 4+ years (according to my Core book, anyway), Paizo has not addressed some of them. Are the old 3.5 FAQs valid unless Paizo FAQ (including PFS FAQ) or Developer post says otherwise?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate. 1 person marked this as a favorite.

These questions are geared primarily towards Pathfinder Society.

To start with, I know that most classes that gain animal companions and mounts are limited in their selection. For example, baring a change via archetype, Paladin/Cavalier/Nature Oracle/Mounted Fury Barbarian are limited to a Horse, Camel, dog, or wolf; Ranger is limited to badger, bird, camel, cat (small), dire rat, dog, horse, pony, snake (viper or constrictor), and wolf. Lunar Oracle gets bear, boar, crocadile, tiger, shark, or wolf.

Some archetypes change these lists and are clear about what they now have access to.

I'm also pretty clear on general stacking rules: levels only stack if on same list.

What I'm looking to establish is what counts as additional access. So far, I've found the following:

1) a certain Boon gives you access to the Axe Beak. For those that don't know which one it is, I won't spoil it. This one is pretty clear that it gives additional access.

2) Beast Rider (orc/Half-orc racial feat)

Beast Rider

hide:
"Benefit: Select one of the following creature types: elephant, pteranodon, rhinoceros, stegosaurus, or triceratops. Add this creature type to your list of possible animal companions or mounts. When summoning a creature of the selected type to serve as a mount or companion, treat your effective druid level as if it were two levels higher (to a maximum of your character level). If the creature is large enough for you to ride, it gains the combat training general purpose (see Handle Animal) at no cost."

This one also looks pretty clear. Pick one of these animals and add it to your list. If you have multiple lists, does it add to all of them

3) the Steed feature of the Mammoth Rider PrC:

Mammoth Rider

hide:
"A mammoth rider can choose from among the following animal companions to serve as her loyal steed:

Arsinoitherium, aurochs, baluchitherium, camel, cat (big), elk, horse, mastodon (elephant), megaloceros, rhinoceros, triceratops, wolf, or woolly mammoth (use stats for a mastodon).

A GM might expand this list to include other possible steeds. This steed functions as a druid's animal companion, replacing any animal companion or mount gained from another class. The mammoth rider's class levels stack with other classes that grant an animal companion to determine her effective druid level." (emphasis mine)

ok, this one may have some issues. Everything I've read suggests it counts as additional access (and full stacking) since it REPLACES your existing AC; I've recently been told this may not completely work as such. Two other interpretations I've been given:

a) It does not count as additional access and it only stacks if mount type chosen is on same list. AKA, in most cases, you give up your (druid) level 6+ AC for a (druid) level 1. I don't quite get this, especially considering it is a PrC that can only be taken after level 10.

b) The replacement would loose any class specific bonuses (like Cavalier Mount or Paladin Divine Bond extras).

Does it count as additional access and do you loose other class bonuses?

4) Companion Figurine Feat (Classic Treasures Revisited):

Companion Figurine

hide:
"Benefit: You may select the creature summoned by your figurine of wondrous power as an animal companion or familiar, or as appropriate. The figurine has the standard abilities of a familiar or animal companion of its type, plus additional abilities related to its figurine type (see below)." (rest of feat text omitted, as it isn't relevant).

Does this count as additional access (aka, can a Paladin buy an elephant or Lion figurine and gain full benefits of its Divine Bond) or can you only select a figurine that you already have access to via "counts as" animal type?

5) Animal Ally Feat. This is mostly a stacking question

Animal Ally

hide:
Benefit: You gain an animal companion as if you were a druid of your character level –3 from the following list: badger, bird, camel, cat (small), dire rat, dog, horse, pony, snake (viper), or wolf. If you later gain an animal companion through another source (such as the Animal domain, divine bond, hunter's bond, mount, or nature bond class features), the effective druid level granted by this feat stacks with that granted by other sources. (emphasis mine)

c) For the purposes of the feat, it grants the same list as the Ranger. By the last sentence, does it stack with all other sources, or only sources on the same list?

d) do the levels granting the AC effectively count double? For example, a multiclass paladin takes the feat at level 5 and at level 6, takes a 5th paladin level and gains a Divine Bond. Would the druid level = 5 (paladin) + 3 (feat gives 6-3=3) = 9 for a Horse?

6) If you have both Animal Ally, a class granted AC/mount, and the levels stack, how would the bonus from feats like Boon Companion or Beast Rider add in? Using above example, at level 7, character takes a multiclass level and takes Half-Orc Beast Rider feat. Would they stack like:

e) Paladin (5) + 2 (beast rider +2, max = character level) = 7 + 4 (Animal Ally = character level -3 = 4) = level 11

or

f) Paladin (5) + 4 (animal ally, as above) = 9; beast rider does not add as we've exceeded character level

I am aware that in any case, the ACs effective HD cannot exceed the character's level +1 per:

APG ruling

7) are there other sources that I missed, feats or otherwise, not counting archetypes? I'm not including the Boon that gives access to an "Owlbear," as that boon only modifies the Bear AC and does not give you access to a bear.

Thanks for the help. If this has already been answered, please direct me to the appropriate pages; I've done a lot of searching, by my search-fu is weak.
