Anybody know if there are plans for a 2nd printing of this bestiary?

You definitely can't go wrong with a computer version. In my opinion the computer version excels because of the ability to add mods.

If your kids watch youtube or let's plays (Yogscast are big amongst the kid Minecrafter demographic), they might want to play a modpack alongside their favorite youtuber. And most of them are simple to play. Go to Technic or FeedtheBeast's website, download their launcher and specify which modpack you want to play and you're set after installation, hassle free.

The mods usually enhance the game in some way. Hexxit from technic is a modpack that centers around more adventuring (adds dungeons, new armor, new enemies). Mage Quest from FeedtheBeast centers around magic mods and lets your character dabble in arcane magic, flower magic, and more. And for the superhardcore, Infinity Evolved from FeedTheBeast centers around technology and makes the game more difficult in general.

I have an Xbone and if you just plan to use it for Minecraft, 500GB (only ~350GB is usable though, the rest is used by what I assume is the xbox software) is fine. Minecraft takes up like 7 GB max. It doesnt take much space.

However, I believe its only 50 bucks more to double memory to 1TB but it ultimately comes down to what you're using the device for. If you intend to play more games, then go for the 1TB. If it's just for MC, know that you can fit about 20 full sized AAA games (Call of Duty, Halo, etc) on the console.

As for PC and Xbox interaction, the answer is "kind of."

Xbox One and PC (windows 10 version) have this service called Realms. Basically you buy a server for 5 bucks a month or something like that and you can access this world from any windows 10 device such as your PC or Xbox. The only caveat is that PC players and xbox players won't be able to access the world at the same time. Either its all xbox players or all PC players.

EDIT: Also, the xboxone version of Minecraft is a definite upgrade over the 360 version. Personally I wouldn't upgrade the console just for it but the expanded line of sight and better performance makes buying it again worth it

Hello,

So for the past week or so my order has been pending and it appears its pending waiting for a payment authorization. Checked my card and there's no pending payments. Tried switching cards and still nothing.

Wondering what I should do in this case?

So first time AP subscriber and still relatively new GM so forgive me if these questions are noobish but wondering how people are GMing two particular instances

Scenarios:
The first scenario is the instance in which the PCs meet Asa Lalith and Daelene Spence in the guesthouse. They try to convince the PCs to drink the wine. My first instinct if I were a PC would be to not drink the wine until they do. Would the cultists drink the wine or would they get straight toward fighting (assuming the suggestion spell failed)? If they do drink, would they somehow get a bonus save toward the poison?

And the second is when they are in the library, where they have to pick up an important book required for the next AP. If they PCs say they look around the room, yeah it's simple enough that I mention the book, but if they don't plan to search the room extensively I'm unsure of how to handle that scenario.

Following up on this, whether or not monsters in a particular book are OGL seems to vary; as a general rule the monsters usually are OGL from glancing through a bunch of books I have selected at random from both the Adventure Path and Campaign Settings lines.

As an example of the licensing deal I mentioned above, though, Adventure Path #46 Wake of the Watcher says the following in its OGL declaration:

Quote:
Product Identity: The following items are hereby identified as Product Identity, as defined in the Open Game License version 1.0a, Section 1(e), and are not Open Content: All trademarks, registered trademarks, proper names (characters, deities, etc.), dialogue, plots, storylines, locations, characters, artwork, and trade dress. (Elements that have previously been designated as Open Game Content or are in the public domain are not included in this declaration.) The Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath, Dimensional Shambler, and Gnoph-Keh are specifically designated as Product Identity.

If you like NPC statblocks, those won't be repeats no matter what since the NPCs are never OGL in any case (they're characters). Monsters in the bestiaries may be reprinted if they aren't excluded like above, but as you'll see below that isn't all that common. For giggles, I opened up a rather old AP (Curse of the Crimson Throne), which was released before the Pathfinder RPG was. As such, stuff in the back had 5 Bestiaries worth of pages to get reprinted in, let's take a look at how many made it:

  • Carrion Golem - Bestiary 2
  • Devilfish - Bestiary 2
  • Dream Spider - Not reprinted
  • Doll, Soulbound - Bestiary 2
  • Raktavarna - Bestiary 3
  • Reefclaw - Bestiary 2
  • Daemon, Leukodaemon - Bestiary 2
  • Daughter of Urgathoa - Not reprinted in core line (reprinted in Inner Sea World Guide)
  • Giant Fly - Bestiary 2
  • Giant Maggot - Bestiary 2
  • Lawgiver - Not reprinted in core line (reprinted in Inner Sea Gods)
  • Beatific One - Bestiary 3 (as Asura, Upasunda)
...

Thank you so much for that info. I thought the percentage of reprinted creatures would be more 80-20 but even at 50-50, it gives me a bunch of reason to go back to older APs just for the creatures. I def love the options available in these books but I love the creatures even more so and I wish Paizo released bestiaries more often however I know that might not be a viable strategy. Thanks again!

Even just focusing on monsters in the bestiaries, that is not the case. Paizo's homebrew (e.g. not OGL from some other source) monsters may only live in an AP volume and will never be printed in the core line, and other monsters that are licensed from places (such as Chaosium) similarly will never be released in OGL form in a core book.

See also this post by James Jacobs.

Interesting, never knew the non-core line wasn't OGL though now that I think about it makes sense.

Thanks guys! Def going to pick up some of the side stuff then. It's good knowing it won't have repeat stuff.

So I've mostly only bought the core rulebooks because I was under the assumption that any creature created for modules/campaign settings inevitably make their way into the core bestiaries.

However, a few of this month's modules have grabbed my interest but was wondering if it'd be a worth-while purchase (the content in it won't be reprnted 2 years down the line).
