If your players have had a few too many drinks at our other taverns and you are itching for somewhere else to show them, or they are out on the road traipsing through deadly jungles, you are in luck!

This week Dire Rugrat Publishing released Tangible Taverns: The Hut (5e). This marks the first tavern released since October 2016 when The Hidden Oak came out, and we are pretty excited about it.

Delicious smells waft out of the weathered building and lights are visible through the windows. There are no signs denoting a name for the building, or even its purpose, but a welcoming feeling almost emanates from the large hut.

This PDF includes rumour and event tables, a tavern map, and descriptions of frequent faces about the establishment (which include names, physical features and personalities, and stat blocks).

Grab your copy today!

To celebrate this silliest day of the year, we at Dire Rugrat Publishing have released (Not So) Advantageous Abilities. While the NPC/monster abilities detailed in the product can be used for comedic value, they are also useful if you want to pit your PCs against a foe that outclasses them without stomping them into paste.

Best of all, (Not So) Advantageous Abilities is pay what you want... which we all know means free, so click the link, take a look, and enjoy using asthmatic, hematophobe vrocks against some level 5 PCs!!

Four free products still available!

CrystalSeas - Liz tells me your copy of Tangible Taverns: Trio of Taverns (PFRPG) has been sent over. Happy gaming!

Yes, I downloaded it a bit earlier and had a quick read. Thanks Liz!!

One question that I haven't had time to check since I haven't read every little word.

I am working with a group that is still on Beginner Box adventures and we're going to stay Core for the foreseeable future. I'm trying to get some new players to GM, so we're keeping it simple.

Is there any designation in the stat blocks that would help me remove non-Core stuff from the NPCs? Or are there a couple NPCs who are Core?

There aren't any Core only NPCs in Trio, I'm afraid. Bellamy and Malena are probably the closest; you'll need to swap out Bellamy's silent table, memory lapse, peacebond, breeze, and spark spells and his Steadfast Personality Feat. Malena will need her adoration and unwitting ally spells swapped out as well as her harmonic spell feat. She's also a tiefling, but that's primarily represented in her stat block by her resistances and darkvision I believe.

The rest of the stat blocks delve a bit too deeply into archetypes and non-Core classes to be easily retroconverted to Core only. I hope that helps a bit!

Thanks for the review, Endzeitgeist!

We've added new art where the ad was, updated the cover, and adjusted the two stat blocks mentioned above.

And remember folks, you can pick up this tavern for 10% on DriveThruRPG until the 12th of this month!

I love this post. Please, please review products. How else do 3PP know what you like and don't? As a new publisher it's what keeps us going. (A big thanks to Lorathorn for his reviews on our products.) We love nice five start reviews and compliments, but we also love to hear how to make improvements (just like Lucus Palosaari says). Things like "Love the art, but layout needs work" or "Writing is awesome but this product is just way out there and not useful to me at all" or "More powerful NPCs please" actually do help us.

We thought our newest tavern ( Tuffy's Good Time Palace ) was awesome, but it's been way less successful than our first ( The Bull & The Bear ) and we aren't sure why... feedback from readers would help us understand, or help other potential readers give it a try.

In my opinion, 3PP are here because they want to be (why else would we do it?), but we need support from the customer base, and reviews are a part of that.

Yes, yes, yes to the reviews. Even a really short blurb is awesome.

We love seeing new reviews go up! Thanks, Lorathorn. There was another little dance around here when we read your latest one. And we feel inspired to get this next tavern out the door.

You'll have to let us know how your players like the taverns if you ever get to use them!

The rugrats are happy it's Friday and that makes us happy. Since we're up in Canada, we're also feeling pretty thankful for a lot of things, like a long weekend and over 100 "sales" of our new system neutral tavern, The Angelic Imp (currently available for free on DriveThru - sorry, it's not currently available as a Paizo download as of yet, but will be featured in the upcoming Trio of Taverns).

The first person to PM me with their preference in book (Tangible Taverns: Tuffy's Good Time Palace or Tangible Taverns: The Bull & The Bear) gets it free!

Please include your email in the PM so I can send the code to your inbox.

Happy Friday everyone!

Thanks, Lorathorn! I do a lot of the writing and it's nice to hear someone enjoys it! There has been some talk of churches... so maybe you'll see that before too long. We are still trying to get our footing and see where the interest is. Plus there are some other companies who do great stuff with towns (like Raging Swan Press) and we don't want to try to compete with that.

We are pretty happy working on the taverns right now as I've got a couple of tavern ideas I am really excited about. That said, we have thrown around a few ideas for some other product lines, and I'd be curious to see how they sell in comparison.

Is there something in particular you'd like to see from us? There are two of us working on these projects and we each focus on different aspects of it, so I'm also curious what you find most appealing about the products. The writing? The ideas? The NPCs? The stat blocks?

Feedback helps us make more appealing products going forward.

Still have one of these available if anyone else is interested.

Okay, Ive reviewed it on the Paizo shop page. I'll head to DriveThruRPG and review it there later.

I also just got the email notifying me of the next installment of the Tangible Taverns series. Since my biggest initial complaint was that I thought The Bull & The Bear was a full-length book all about different taverns and only got one tavern, I'm glad I waited to write the review!

Thanks, Silent Saturn! Our plan was one tavern per book, but a bunch of books. This gave us the pages to (try to) do the taverns justice. The next one is bigger than the first, and we are hoping one day we can compile them into a Tome of Taverns - but we need a few more before we can do that!

It's a lot of work to put together and we want to ensure the interest is here before we go crazy with a bunch of taverns and countless hours of work.
That said, our third book is well under way and for that we plan on releasing three taverns on a smaller scale, which might be a bit more what you had in mind.

We are super excited to announce our second Tangible Tavern has been released and is now available on Paizo!

Tangible Taverns: Tuffy's Good Time Palace.

In order to celebrate, we here at dire rugrat publishing are giving out a limited number of copies for review purposes.

If you want to take a look at the second instalment of the Tangible Taverns line, and you can take the time to write and post a review, please private message us and we will get your free copy to you.

Only a few copies will be available, so hurry!

Do I write the review on the shop page, or here? I can do both if you'd like.

Lorathorn is right, on the shop page would be awesome, Silent Saturn! Then just post here "Reviewed" or something similar so people know to take a look at your review. Looking forward to reading it!

All of our review copies have been distributed. Thanks to those who expressed interest; we look forward seeing your reviews! (And a big thanks to Lorathorn who already posted his.)

To those who missed out, you can purchase a copy here. We'd still love to see your review! Also, stay tuned for our upcoming instalments, as we'll give away a few complimentary review copies of them as well.

Thanks again, Lorathorn!

We are super excited that our first product is live on Paizo (hooray!).

Thanks to all those who have expressed their interest thus far. There are still a few free copies of Tangible Taverns: The Bull & The Bear left to give away. Please PM us with your email address if you are interested in a free copy (hopefully in exchange for a review!) and we will send you a code for a free download from DriveThruRPG.

Hello all!

Our first product Tangible Taverns: The Bull & The Bear is available now and we'd love for you to take a look at it (and hopefully write a review)! To that effect, I would be happy to give a free copy to the first ten people that send me a PM indicating their interest.
