You got the order wrong! *grin*

Str 07

Though with that Str score, you're probably still better off as a M-U. Roll on!

no kidding. the real order is Str, Int, Wis, Con, Dex, Cha. OD&D(1974). not that stuff after Greyhawk Supplement I (1975)

Am I missing something here?

nope. it is the same old same old as on any message board.

a few bitter curmudgeons
a few drama queens
a few attention whores
a few fanbois and gals
etc...

please stick around disenchanter. i haven't had this much fun reading a message board since a silent wail railed against d02 on rpg.net

You're reading way more into this than you should. I suspect that the designers call it 4.0 because it fits in the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 progression and for no other reason.

don't forget 2.0 and 2.5

and 1.0 and 1.0 with UA

i still hat the 3.11ed for Workgroups version.

check out this thread on ENWurld: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=204729

you'll see that Hypersmurf (Matt) made a card game for Gary.
iirc, it was inspired from a Gord the Rogue reference.

By the way guys being a big d&d fan going back to its early days in the early eighties in my case i would like to add the following.

the game goes back to the early 70's.

it first went into print in 1974. but it was played before then.

"Is this really so bad?" Taken with the context from the post prior to this one, the game is usually better as the version number gets higher. Therefore, "Is this really so bad?" Re-read the previous paragraph and the rest of this one.

it ain't so with D&D.

OD&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just plain crap.

i'd like to see an article from one of the authors of one of the adventures in the issue.

notes from playtesting. hints about how they used things. something more in depth perhaps about one room or encounter.

i miss Willie Walsh.

do you want me to tell you what i think?

don't tell people to expect it in 2 weeks. change your policy to 4 weeks.

Diaglo,

The reason our site says two weeks for delivery is because on average that's how long it takes.

Jeff,

I am well aware what an avg is.

but that is not what the site says. and thus why i suggest you change it. heck my suggestion of 4 weeks is still less than my average of 4 and a half weeks. i'd still be getting most of my issues late.

edit: if you are picking 50% as your best time for delivery no wonder you are ticking off so many customers/subscribers. you should go with a 95% confidence.... 4 weeks mang i'm telling you.

Jeff Alvarez wrote:

Hey Diaglo,

When did you receive your Dungeon 121? Mine arrived at our office in Seattle on 2-28-05 and we are usually one of the last to receive them. I think my printer told me that they were dropped off at the post office on 2-17-05. That would mean 11 days with a federal holiday and we've been averaging 9 days, so that doesn't seem that off to me.

--Jeff

my suggestion would be to change your site/policy to 4 weeks for US deliveries.

the US Postal service delivers 6 days / week.

heck, i got a delivery on Xmas day this year. so i know they deliver on holidays too. if they are falling too far behind.

i receive many journals, magazines, and books thru the mail all the time. so i know the post office does deliver.

i haven't received it yet. according to the website you list the copies going to subscribers as Feb 15. and also on the site it states expect upto 2 weeks for delivery in the US.

two weeks would've been march 1. even with the holiday that would be march 2.

as of march 3 it still wasn't here. and now as of march 7 still no copy.

i'm getting used to youse guys being late. on avg. 4.5 weeks since nov 03.

but last month i got my copy on time. so i was hoping (but not holding my breath) that things were improving.

yet another issue late.

i was hoping for 2 issues on time in a row.

looks like i'll have to wait yet another few months before they get it right.

just how hard is it to get a copy sent to Atlanta on time?

i know when i complained last year. i ended up getting 3 copies. 1 for an email. 1 for a phone call. and then my regular copy. the email one arrived 2 days after the email. the phone copy 3 days after the phone call. my regular copy... was 4 weeks late (which has turned out to be the norm now).

they say that with every issue.

they are still late.

people have started receiving issue 119 already.

got my copy yesterday. 2 weeks and 2 days. still late but getting better.

So Vic,

it is tuesday...and still no copy. should i contact you or just wait for the cows to come home?

diaglo "1 copy in 13 months has been on time" Ooi

there is one from Jay Hafner out there on the internet.

i still have the one on my hard drive from when WotC owned Dungeon also.

cross your fingers for the rest of us then.

still waiting in Hotlanta.

i still have the one on my hard drive that WotC had on their website for issues 1 thru 95. ;)

Jeremy Walker wrote:

since when is Atlanta, GA part of Canada?

3 weeks is late according to you. but according to me it is better than i have been getting.

just got my copy today. 1 issue in the last 11 on time.

getting better but still late

my copy arrived today.

which means it took 3 weeks in the US.

Wolfgang Baur wrote:

Yeah, I enjoyed running the hill giant and frost giant sections, but honestly they were not great adventures. Nothing wrong with simple, straightforward monster bashing, but there's been better since.

That series really took off with G3, D2, D3, and Q1.

Q1 was flat. it felt unfinished or rushed to publish. i had to do too much rework to make it fit.

we had a blast with the hill giant and frost giant modules.

they fit perfectly into the campaign. i didn't like how they tied them together with the magic loop and such... but that was easily adjusted.

some very memorable events came about because of things in the steading.

Vic Wertz wrote:
it should have shipped on 9/21, and can take up to two weeks for delivery within the US

2weeks was on tuesday... it will be 3 weeks on oct 12.

you need to revise your up to statement.

still waiting in Atlanta, GA, USA...

still waiting. i guess i should receive sometime before 2005.

on a board i saw someone asking for a cool adventure to use.

i suggested the Vanishing Village from Dungeon 19.

but i didn't have new edition stats for the main monsters in the adventure.. (i have the magazine)
