3/5

I may have been expecting too much, but this flip mat was a bit of a let-down.

Pros:
-Permanent markers can be easily erased
-Usable in almost any fantasy setting, as many types of “government” buildings
-The space is generally well used
-Some colours and small details are nice (like the food on the tables)
-Most of top floor’s rooms “make sense” and are well distributed

Cons:
-Many repeated rooms and duplicated artwork. All those 2x2 “admin rooms” look the same. All the beds are very similar. All the cells are cloned (and equally dull)
-Missing rooms: no pantry, no toilets, no kitchen (even if there is a small dining hall)
-Some buildings’ corners block line of sight from the wall battlements (this was shockingly painful to realize)
-There are no windows in any wall
-The lower level looks strange, with some awkward empty spaces and very little detail overall

Bland, unexciting, and dissapointing

2/5

Pros:
-Good quality printing
-Nice small size package, easy to store and transport
-Infernal Sanctuary (4 tiles combined) looks great
-You can write on them with whiteboard markers

Cons:
-Too generic, corridors look specially dull
-Lots of empty blank spaces (black areas around corridors)
-Duplicated tiles instead of more variety
-Tiles do not offer many tactical options (different heights, places to get cover, difficult terrain etc)

This dungeon tiles look and feel empty, basic and too boring to be interesting. It was probably done on purpose (having a “standard dungeon” allows you to use the same tiles more than once) but they are so generic that look unimpressive. I rather spend the same money on a map-mat.
