I am looking for others around Hattiesburg for PFS/SFS. I am still not super familiar with the area since I moved here a couple of months ago, so I'm hopeful there are some folks out here looking as well...

So I have noticed that many of the newer chronicle sheets are granting access to non-CORE prestige classes AND allowing you to retrain feats/skills so that you qualify.

So here's the question, and I'm wanting to make sure, if you play one of these scenarios in CORE, granted access to a non-CORE prestige class, and wish to retrain into that prestige class, but one of the prerequisite feats is from a non-CORE source, would it allow you to retrain those feats as well?

EXAMPLE:
One Chronicle sheet grants access to both Hellknight and Hellknight Signifier. Hellknight is a definite CORE possibility, but the Signifier can require Warrior Priest (depends on which version you are going for), which is from Ultimate Magic. The line in the text on the chronicle sheet that makes me wonder if the Signifier is possible or not: "You may also freely retrain as many feats and skill ranks as is necessary in order to qualify for the prestige class."

Am I just wishful thinking?

Since the Core Campaign started, I have come to enjoy playing the new format so much that our weekly game night at the local store basically runs all Core. It's giving a chance for new players a place to begin and old players a place to come back to. I think it is an excellent recruitment tool (for the ease of play) and a chance to revisit the older storylines for the established players. So, after giving it some time to develop, I decided to gather a little information about what players are playing (races, classes, feats, etc.) and write my next article discussing my findings.

Please take a moment to take this SURVEY on your Core Characters. It's on Survey Monkey so I don't get any of your info and it's free for me to poll other players. I already surveyed my local lodge, but I want more responses. The more I get, the better the picture I get from the survey and the better the article.

Thank you so much!

So I was thinking of creating a new character (At the moment my lowest non-Core character is level 5.) and settled on creating a Rahadoumi Pure Legionnaire. The build involved him being a Daring Champion Cavalier with Order of the First Law and Slashing Grace with a scimitar then sliding into the Pure Legion Enforcer prestige class. He was going to be sweeeeeet! Here I am getting all pumped up for some fun and interesting role-play opportunities and able to hold my own in combat situations... then I see that Order of the First Law (from People of the Sands) is not PFS legal. Noooooooooo! My world is crushed. Well... it really took the wind out of my sails.

So I guess the question is, why is this order not sanctioned?

Is the order's abilities too strong? I've never really played a cavalier before so I'm not too knowledgeable on their overall power depending on the order. The Order of the First Law gives 1 temporary hit point on his turn every round he makes an attack against the target of his challenge. This ability increases by 1 for every 4 levels he possesses and any temp hit points go away after 1 hour. Sounds great and maybe a little powerful, but since you are unable to benefit from any divine magic (healing), does it balance out? Or is the way it is written not give any real drawbacks if you do not adhere to the Law of Man?

Or did I answer my own question?

Last week I wrote my article at Skyland Games (It was my turn) about teamwork feats, summoners and how they and their eidolons could use them differently. To give an example in the article I created a group of PFS ready-to-play characters to illustrate what I was trying to achieve. Well, I'm particularly proud of this group of 'pre-gens' and I wanted to share them here as well. But please let me know what you think. Would it work? Are there any drawbacks? Is this something you would like to play? Or is this just downright cheesy?

Oh, and here's the link: Cooperative Summoning

I have a couple questions that I just want to make sure about and I cannot quite fine the answer...

I am thinking about adding the 'distance' enhancement to Bertha (My PFS character's musket) which doubles the range increment from 40 ft to 80 ft; making the first 80 ft to be resolved against touch AC. That I've got.

But does that have any effect on the maximum range? Does that keep the normal maximum range for a musket at 200 ft OR would that change to 400 ft with the new enhancement since 'early firearms have a maximum range of five range increments'?

Has anyone ever tried to play or seen anyone playing a Black Blood cursed Oracle in PFS? Just curious to see if they are disruptive at a table or just more challenging for the player... I'm heavily leaning towards trying it out.

Since Andoran faction folks can use prestige to become knighted, is there a such thing as an Andoran Knighting Ceremony? I researched a little but didn't come up with anything. I was curious to see what all it entailed...

When we started up with S&S, we had to make sure that all of our roles were filled and I took it upon myself as a challenge to figure out a cleric/healer that fit in this pirate theme.

Here's what I came up with:

Vernon Blueskye: Human Male Cleric (Separatist) of Besmara (Oceans & Sun Domains)

Background: He was hit on the head while working on a ship at sea which gave him visions that led him to conclude that Besmara was actually a man and that the female version is a lie perpetrated by blasphemers.

This character really is a lot of fun to play, especially when encountering 'true' clerics of Besmara.

So, how did you/your party fill this important role of healer but keep the pirate theme true?
