I, too, with mis Nidhi, it is disappointing to lose her when we are so close to finishing...and after all this time together.

If find it strange when people drift away without even saying goodbye, as if our adventures meant nothing, and as if her absence wouldn’t be noted or missed.

I know I tend to believe different things about this silly game that we play together, and it probably means more to me than it does to others. Still, it is strange and disconcerting when someone tosses it away so callously.

But maybe something happened in real life. We never know, do we?

Zilchus is happy to toss irascible crocodiles at traps as well, if that helps. They are cantankerous beasts at the minimum and might finally learn some humility if they are tosses into a few pit traps.

Because we followers of the Great Croc are known for our humility, you see?

Zilchus waits Florence retreat with her newly added kidney and spleen arrows. He can’t decide if he likes that look on Florence, but he’s not hip to fashion and wasn’t going to question her choices.

However, he does ask the Great Crocodile to be more be-armored before moving over Stelle and to address the most smoking of the foes. He lunges out to thrash at blue.

”Now what?” Zilchus takes a moment to look around. ”What does the gem do?”

I think the better solution is for Kosei to go, possibly as a rat to slither around the barriers, but Zilchus is happy to go. Or someone who can cast D-Door.

Zilchus quirks his head to listen to Stelle, nodding and indicating that they should stay where they are.

”I’ll go, I’ll go,” Zilchus repeats, allowing Kosei’s cloud magic to infect him. ”I’ll go right now. Nothing can go wrong, I’m sure.”

He begins the slow process of becoming air.

And when he does he will circumvent the barriers and go to the other side to look around a lot before touching the gem.

”That was a delightful story, Kosei. I understand it perfectly, you Lothario,” Zilchus understands that he and Kosei must try to find women, together as a team, and that is how he learnt and perfected his craft. I could be the owl to your snake, and we would hunt the prettiest desert flowers in all the lands. I see. I get it.

He offers a knowing nods to Kosei.

Zilchus declines at this time to waste any of his precious applejack on stupid camel statues to appease some dead old gods of the past. Instead, he takes the bait and moves to the newly revealed hallway.

"You all are pretty damn judgy all of the sudden. When you have a good applejack musk going on, then maybe you're not smelling like...I dunno...dog or anything," Zilchus' feels his hackles rise as he is being personally attacked. "It could be worse, I could drink Ouzo or Malort, for gawd's sake."


Zilchus sniffs.

"Rose water? I have some good alcohol too. Stuff smells pretty good...and strong, better than that rose water," Zilchus argues and pulls out a bottle of applejack. "This smells of apples, maybe it's better?"

Zilchus is happy to help with whatever.

Zilchus follows along, sword at the ready and with his eyes alert.

"The serpent and the owl? That story must be a hoot," Zilchus comments, wanting to hear the story. "Maybe you can tell it to me while we're translating the stuff here. I'll keep an eye out for trouble if you want to have at it."


Zilchus does not object, and is ready to help Stelle should something else happen.

He looks on, waiting to see what is what.


Zilchus has no icy magics to offer, but can withstand the heat, so does not worry too much about the furnace.

”I tell you, we should try keeping the mask into the lava to see if we can destroy it that way,” Zilchus murmurs, recounting one of earliest thoughts on what to do with the mask. ”But I guess we’re well beyond that now.”

He waits for Nidhi to deal with the trap, not willing to risk blindness.

"Eh. Meh. Let's go east for now," Zilchus answers Florence with a bit more than a little grunt. "We can come back. Might be we don't need to deal with it at all. Unless we need to, that is."

Zilchus keeps his eyes open as he goes down the hall when others are ready. He tends to walk 5' above the ground when he can.

”Well, okay, then. Good work. Even you, Might Croc,” Zilchus almost thinks to pet his creature, but whips his hand away as the beast snaps at him.

’Okay fine, go away. Get out of here,” Zilchus says, dismissing his summons.

Like Kosei, he notes the weirdness of the lava.

”Yeah, wise Kosei, you are right. How did they get bubbling heated lava in this damn pyramid? That seems like a lot of work and not sure why they needed it. It’s just...uh...weird, you know?” Zilchus comments as he also looks around. He does not venture into the lava, but does skim on the surface.

The air walking Zilchus doesn't need Kosei's ramp, but when others are ready to go, he will summon a Chaosodile in between the near foes to see if they react. He is content to guard the entrance to see what they do.

Does anyone need a Resist Fire? Seems like it would be prudent if everyone was protected.


-1 air step, +1 resist energy. Casting MCfE, Magic Vestments, Life Bubble (5 hours to all, including Stelle). Casting Resist Energies for Fire and Cold. Air Walk and Gr. Magic Weapon.

Zilchus is ready to go.

Assuming Nidhi can disarm it, but if not, maybe Kosei can summon something, but if not that, then Zilchus will be the sacrifice.


Zilchus would summon the Chaosodile and make that an offering, but sadly no, not smart enough (go figure). Zilchus will sacrifice himself, but waits to see if others have a solution.

Zilchus will cast his magics for upcoming challenges.

Zilchus head quirks at Kosei’s words. He leans closer to Kosei, worried and wishing to whisper. ”Doees this mean that the Lady Nidhi never came to your always open tent? You move on? Is there nothing else you would try?” Zilchus asks, concerned. ”She is a formidable woman, to be sure, and surely worth another attempt to see if she appreciates all that you offer?” Zilchus wishes to learn how this man deals with rejection and what other gambits he might try in the wooing of ladies.

During his prayers in the morning, Zilchus will shift his morning offerings to ask for more protections from the elements from the Great Crocodile, knowing what will likely to come in the fire and water.

After breakfast, Zilchus will be ready to push on.

”Ah yes, fire. We should try the first side first. The fireside? Get it? Ha! I’m a delight.”


Zilchus waits, willing to help Kosei if the wise man needs it. But when Kosei seems to realize that they have reached the end of what they can do, he's content to lead the party back outside to the heat to rest for the night.

He feels they've made fair progress on the day and might be home and being feted by the Ruby Prince by the end of the week at this rate.

"Flo? You got your magic shelter? That might be nice. Over here seems safe," Zilchus points out.


+1 for a freakin’ 5th Element reference. Wow. Of all the places. Nice one Stelle.

Zilchus leads the party back, still thinking that they may be attacked again. He is pleased to return to the earth room without incident.

”I have no spells for this, nor the skills needed,” Zilchus shakes his head. ”I mean, I’m sure I can smash it open. Or destroy it, but not that’s what we want.”


"Is that it? Really?" Zilchus seems surprised...and even a bit worried that maybe they had just bombed large portions of Osirion and that the Ruby Prince might have an issue with that. "Should we have done that in the water? Uhm...oh...oh...ok...well...I'll let one of you explain that to him when we present him this pyramid."

Zilchus yawns.

"Might be that we go back and rest up? We've done two of the little challenge areas? Been a long day aready, especially after that first big fight," Zilchus looks to see where might be a good place to rest up.


Zilchus continues to wait, hoping the smart people figure things out.

"I like the idea of doing something with the pyramids, maybe crashing them into the Temple of the Pharasmooks. I dunno," Zilchus pets his chaosodile as he keeps his vigil.

Zilchus (and his chaosodile) keeps a watch at stone doorway, making sure no one disturbs the work that Kosie, Nidhi, Annie, and Florence are doing.

"You guys work. I'll guard."


Zilchus takes some time to look around, pointing out anything of interest to the party.

Zilchus is no fool, no fool at all. He moves over to whisper to Kosei, keeping his voice down.

”It’s clear that the brothers share the woman and the dowry, splitting her day and night, night and day. That’s the easy answer and it must be correct. Of the dowry, they should spend it drinking and whoring on the nights they are without wife. This is the solution, is it not?”


Zilchus crosses his arms, thinking about the offer. While he isn’t willing to put his own mind against the sphinx’s, he is willing to bet on wise Kosei and the bewitching Florence.

”Go on.”

Zilchus smiles at Florence tends to his wounds, thankful for such a short pain.

"You do that well, thank you. Makes bleeding for you worthwhile," Zilchus states thankfully. "Now, what is going on with that block?"

Zilchus takes a full round action to summon a Chaosodile (large), edging Kosei out of the way. He puts it in front of the stone block.

"Now now, beast, don't snap at my friends, I feel there are the cowering foes of the Great Crocodile inside, and you may feast on them," Zilchus says soothingly.

Zilchus, after instructing everyone to get well back and while his falchion dangles from his wrist, does offer strength to the lid in hopes of opening it.

”URP!” He utters with bulging veins.


Zilchus nods at Kosei, moving back to go west or South.

"Now, I kind of wish Ben were here. He might definitely be annoying, but he'd probably be blathering about what we should do next. Do you want me smash the coffer now?"


"Well, that was *enlightening*," Zilchus says with a goofy smile as he returns to the party, no f!+%s to give about how funny he is. "Nothing there."

He looks around, happy to explore more while he's protected.

"Where to next? What are we missing?" he moves to the north. Moved on map, but not sure where else to go.

As Zilchus is a tremendous lucksack, he takes his damn time to examine the area to make sure he and the party hasn't missed anything. At least 3 rounds for Detect Magic and examining auras.

”Moldy old bones. Are you sure he wasn’t called Ben?” Zilchus jokes unfunnily, but funny to himself. Ben. Ha. That bag of bones. ”Is that all we got in here? Man, this place makes no sense. Why did they invites us to come in here? This is just silly. Didn’t want to tour of the house, we just wanted to kill the owner.”

Zilchus waits for the party to want to move on.

Moving on and still not convinced, he reads the Pillars and confirms how right he is.

Zilchus will examine the sarcophagus for traps.

Zilchus waits ‘patiently’ for others, only occasionally air-stomping over to see what was taking so long, then air-stomping back to see if the statue had moved at all, then air-stomping back to glare at the laggards, then air-stomping in place as he waits ‘patiently’. He’s being totally patient, you see?

”Thoth, you mangy lizard. How did you get to be in a pantheon with the mighty Sobek, I’ll never understand,” Zilchus grouches zealously at the statue. ”Worshipping the moon is like worshipping the reflection of your ass. And it makes you one too.”

Waiting to see what Nidhi and Flo do, but if we need to rest up to prepare more flight magics for this room, we should retreat and do that.
