Zeirka is the first born child of the current generation of Ghawns. She was "blessed" with a more or less human appearance. The only signs of her parentage are large physique and small tusks that protude from her lower jaw. In the past she filed them down to help disguise her appearance, but has stopped in recent years. At the age of 14 she left home to join the church of Pharasma. She received the blessing of her mother who gave her a gold holy symbol which had been passed down for generations prior to the intermingly of orc and human blood.

She started out her service to Pharasma as a midwife focusing on birth apect of her diety rather than death. As she aged, she became larger and had to file her tusks more often. One day she had to attend and emergency birthing of a wealthy townperson, and did not have time to prepare her appearance. The townswoman was offended to be served by a "lowly beast" such as Zeirka and spread word of her origin. The church knew of her parentage from the beginning, but never held it against her. However, she could no longer work as a midwife.

She was taken under the wing of an elderly cleric who had come to the area to retire. He had served as a cleric of Pharasma with the goal of eradicating as much undead as possible. Thus began her training as a hunter of undead. Rather than follow the path of a cleric, she pursued the path of an inquisitor, and found herself quite suited to it. She has now left the temple and has returned home to say her final goodbyes before setting out on her first undead hunting expedition.
