Day Job roll (Porter): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Yorad accepts the proffered bottles of wine gratefully, with a haunted look in his eyes. Listening to Meredith's tale silently he resists the urge to ask questions here...knowing they were unimportant at this point.

Once she has finished he responds softly, in a tone unlike you have ever heard before. "It's OK Meredith. You can't see into another's heart. None of us can. Still doesn't make it any less painful I know. He was my boss in a way..." Cracking open the wine bottle with his knife he takes a long swig from the bottle. "Look I plan on drinking myself down tonight so if you need me you know where I am. But before I go..." he pauses for a moment before adding. "You all have been good mates and I consider it an honor to have worked with all of you. But working for the Society..." he shrugs helplessly. "I sometimes wonder WHY we risk our lives for them. And those who send us away. Much easier fer them I suppose."

He rises to his feet and nods to each of you. "I dunno if I will come back to the Society...at least not now. Mebbe I need to find my path here like Meredith says. A good reason."

Just before he steps out of the room, bottle in hand, he waves back. "Watch your backs. I want to see all of you again alive and in one piece."

This scenario made it easy to write Yorad out, at least temporarily. I may bring him back or go with another player here, haven't decided yet.

Yorad turn to face the Venture Captain, a look of disgust on his face. "What do you THINK happened? Torch decided to betray the Society, that's WHAT! He grabbed a list of the Decemvirate's identities, slew Quidda here, and teleported away!" Glancing around the area here he waves at the two former bodyguards, "They decided to cover his escape, which they did quite handily!"

Yorad sheaths his knife here, glaring at the spot where Torch vanished from. "We may have stopped the Spider but now the Torch is on the loose. If I was one of the Ten, I would watch my back from now on. I doubt Torch confided what his plans were with anyone, but we'll find out...eventually."

Yorad is more than content to allow Jan to finish off the bodyguard but seeing the others violate Jan's wishes gives him enough cover to pitch in, as it were.

Stepping into position his knife flashes once again...

Seeing as Meredith will no longer stick around, judging by the large pile of blood at her feet, Yorad steps closer to her and jabs at the orcish guard hard!

"What did Torch offer you to throw your lives away like this? An eternity of licking his body from head to toe?"

As Yorad watches his boss slice the Spider's throat in half he thinks, Well even if I never liked her somehow I don't think this is how interrogations is supposed to go...sounds like we ALL got played here!

"Man I HATE being played for a sucker!" Yorad exclaims as he steps forward and slashes his blade at the blue bodyguard, taking advantage of his quickness here!

Yorad gives Lazarus a nudge here. "Didn't you find a bunch of documents in her desk?" Once the Samsaran has handed the documents over to the Torch, Yorad smiles at the Spider here. "Not as tasty as baked sweets but more satisfying in the end."

"Of course these bonds are tight! That's what friends do for one another, make sure they don't get into any trouble!"

Yorad eyes the featureless hood and the voluminous cloak with a critical eye. Should work OK.

"OK new friend, let's get you dressed up. Think of it as a date if you'd like." Once he has outfitted Ouidda in the proffered clothes he pulls the others aside. "What are we gonna do about those spies we saw earlier hanging out in the cellar?"

Yorad pulls the binding a mite TOO tightly here, "Well, since you claim to be clever and all, I'll let you ponder upon this for a while. Shouldn't be TOO hard to figure it and all, considering how smart you are and all."

Yorad returns to the scene of the crime, looking a little irritated but none the worse for wear as he retrieves his dagger (and resisting the urge to plunge it in between Ouidda's sternum). "So happy you came around to our point of view. This is how friendships begin," he comments sarcastically. "Since you don't enjoy dying here then allow me to bind your hands up so our happy friendship can continue."

OK thanks for the info Lazarus! Since Yorad would not be able to face Quidda without fleeing again, he will wait for the frightened condition to end before returning. Of course that does not help his Confused condition :P

Yorad continues to flee from the scene and manages to make it back to the entrance to the spider's lair.

Yorad sees the source of his terrors moving towards him and continues his flight back up the stairs.

Okay sounds good. I wasn't sure if the trap had been disarmed or not, so it makes sense he would try to avoid it :)

Yorad strikes hard at the woman before he suddenly gets a panicked look on his face before he flees for his life!

Looks like Yorad also triggered the trap on the rug too. :(

"Stop wavin' yer spells around! Someone's liable to get hurt!" Namely you... Yorad exclaims as he moves in for the kill, drawing another blade as he does so.

Yorad feels the confusion effects fade from his mind and as he glances down at the blood dripping from his arm a look of rage appears on his face. "Damn this mission!" He exclaims as he moves into the room a look of murder in his eyes. Once he gets inside he then whips his blade at the woman!

The rest of you who happen to look behind you see Yorad, a goofy smile on his face, slash his arm open with his knife.

Could've been worse...

While the others continue to check the mirrors further Yorad continues his lonely vigil guarding the rear.

"Sounds like she is taking the spider-motif to its logical extreme." He comments to no one in particular.

Yorad keeps a close eye on the door leading down as the chance of being trapped here increases.

Okay moved Yorad down to the correct position.

Yorad peers into the chamber as he trails behind the others, "Agreed. Beginning to wonder how far she took the spider motive here...Mebbe she has some spider blood in her veins," shrugging as he downs a vial of antitoxin as well.

Yorad quickly moves to the other door on the other side and closes it.

I HATE bugs!

Yorad nods slowly here in response, "Yeah, if Frankie here cannot disable it then triggering it would be the best option here. I would NOT want to be in the room however! Best to use magic means to trigger it, methinks."

"Did our quarry already fly the coop here?" Yorad ponders as he watches the rear for any trouble.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Perception DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Yorad glances around the area without a great deal of interest...until something grabs his attention.

"Eh...what's this?"

Sleight of Hand DC 15: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

He pulls a partially-burned missive from the cold ashes of the fireplace. "Interesting."

Yorad waits impatiently here as he knows each minute spent here wasting time gives their quarry extra time to prepare for their arrival.

You can't fool me Lazarus...I know yer just using this as an excuse to check yer looks here...I am sure Meredith will like you as you are!

Yorad motions to Frankie here pointing at the secret door, "Sounds like this is right up your alley little one. I'll watch your back." As Frankie takes the lead here Yorad stays close behind the diminutive explorer.

Yorad silently puts away his unused potion and turns to face his companions with a grim look. "I don't like this. No other guards here means more traps ahead. Good job finding those keys Laz, they most likely bypass the traps."

He sees a door in the south wall of the corridor and decides to check it out. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

"Hey, lemme know if you need this potion (Pot of CLW) here!" Yorad calls out.

Looks like Serge is good now, Yorad thinks as he decides to slip into a more protective stance here.

Full Defense.

Yorad looks over the fallen paladin for a moment wondering whether Serge can spare a second to grab the potion from his hand...

Yorad will Delay for the moment...depending on what Serge does here.

"Coming...coming...sheesh keep yer pantyhose on..." Yorad hustles back towards the melee and the fallen paladin, grabbing a healing potion on the way.

Double Move, draw potion as part of move.
Acrobatics (if needed): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Yorad maintains his vigil at the rear of the group knowing this combat must surely have alerted someone by now.

Delay.

Yorad wonders if perhaps someone IS sneaking up behind the melee and decides to hide in one of the shadows...just in case...

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

"Keep it up guys! Yer doin' great!" Yorad calls out, "Just yell if you need me!"

"All clear on this side," Yorad calls out.

Delay.

Yorad is in the same boat, which is why he is guarding the rear :)

Yorad shuffles closer to the wall his eyes peeled for any surprises coming from the other side of the chamber. No good if our escape route gets cut off...

Delay.

Yorad, on seeing how effortlessly the clockwork sliced Frankie in twain, knew he was seriously overmatched here. "OKayyyyy, I'll get ya next time..." He mutters as he quickly withdraws here!

Withdraw.

Hearing the clockwork's warning cry is more than enough to send a shiver up his spine. "Look's like Frankie found 'em. C'mon," he waves at the others as he advances closer to the battle. Once they have noticed him he waves his knife menancingly at them. "That's right. We are intruders...Whacha goona do 'bout it?"

Double move.

Yorad trails behind the others know combat is inevitable. Hope these clockwork thingies have some kind of weakness...

"Don't mund me, Ah'm jus' passin' through..." Yorad finally decides there is no need to conceal himself and moves to assist with the search.

Before doing so he pulls Serge aside and whispers to him, "Keep an eye on those cutthroats willya? Seems a little...convenient they show up the same time as us no?"

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Yorad rolls his eyes at the patently obvious falsehoods but decides to hold his tongue here...

This sounds like it will head south in a hurry... he thinks as he draws a dagger.

Can you actually take 10 on that?

Yorad immediately draws his own blade and quickly surveys the area looking for other threats (and a place to hide).

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

"Yeah, yeah I know what to do here," Yorad mutters under his breath as he slips quietly down the stairs.

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

"You find it Laz?" Yorad nods in approval, "Good job." Turning to face the others he adds, "Think we should eyeball it for a few, before heading down. That way Frankie can find us, he he."

"Good question," Yorad shrugs, "Mebbe he is gettin' lucky right now," he then smirks. "Okay let me check it out, be right back."

He then quickly moves to the entrance of the kitchen, trying to look casual here.

Not sure if Stealth will work here but in case it does...Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
