About Xellene
Xellene was the eldest child of a Taldor noble family. Her parents made it clear to her at an early age that she the line of sucession would not be passing to her, rather she would be married off. From that point on she made it her intent to demonstrate her parity and even superiority to her younger brother in every respect.
At the age of 10, she and her brother Xanthan (one year younger), engaged in a mock duel. As an unintended result Xellene nearly crippled him. At that point her father decided that he had one too many children, and put Xellene on the lengthy waiting list to join the Monastary of Seven Forms.
Xellene was bitter over this rejection for many years. Yet the monks at the Monastary slow taught her to see that the life she had been deprived was not really worth having. With this life lesson learned, Xellene turned to a life of service, compassion, and contemplation.
But none of her years at the Monastary prepared her for the likes of Jacquo Dalsine.
In truth, it was the Taldan Faction that encouraged her to join the Society in the first place. It was deemed that her alliances would never be suspected to lean towards those of the Old Empire. Rather, they hoped she would be mistaken as Qadiran, because of the Tian and Qadiran influences that the Monastary utilized in it's teachings.
While the Taldan Faction hopes to change the Empire through the control of Absalom, Xellene hopes to change Taldor itself. If a strong independent woman can be shown to change the future of the Empire; Taldor would have to change the way it viewed women as a whole.
