You mean we're the only faction that believes in hygiene? Thank the gods I'm an Andoren. For the rest of you, try soap. :p

Are slaves considered "Chelaxian slaves" because they're people or "Chelish slaves" because they're considered property?
I'd consider them "future Andorens."

Andorens seem to have very short memories -- they seem to think that history only started fifty-or-so years ago.

For centuries Andoran was a peaceful, productive even, part of Cheliax; yet how was our benefice repaid? At the time of our greatest need, in the chaos and turmoil surrounding the disappearance, and probable demise, of Aroden, they chose not to be part of the solution but part of the problem. Their choice to stand not with us, but against us exacerbated the troubles we faced.

And they were not the only ones. How many of our neighbours and former allies stepped up to help us? Yes, countless other people suffered in the wake of this calamity; but we were the seat of his faith, the ones most committed to his church, it was we who suffered the most when he fell. It was we who were in greatest need of the aid of the fair-weathered friends who had enjoyed our support in previous times.

So yes, we sided with those who helped us, those who in our time of greatest need did not abandon us but rather strove to help restore our nation. If those in the cheap seats don't like that then perhaps they should consider their actions in the first half of the last century; most particularly the people of Andoran who rather than undertake the hard work of rebuilding our homeland chose sedition and secession.

Now, emboldened by their terrifying philosophy of "democracy" (which is nothing more that populist mob rule, quasi-legitimised by the "election" of charismatic demagogues) they harangue us, challenging our borders and engaging in unprovoked aggression against those who question them -- most notably of late the Baron Vendikon, whose peaceful negotiations with our nation have provoked military assault and even assassination attempts...

Alas, it seems that your sense of history is a bit muddled in this matter. Actually, we did not declare our independence from Cheliax until after the dust had settled and House Thrune stood ascendant. We may have well happily stayed a part of the Chelaxian empire had it not succumbed to diabolism and tyranny and tried to force us to submit to such. By and large, our people do not wish ill of Cheliax, quite the contrary in fact–we would love to see Cheliax renounce its deviltry and oppression and become another shining bastion of freedom, justice and equality–a nation to make the late Aroden proud.

However, even though we are by nature a peaceful people, there is only so far that we may be pushed and only so long we can turn away from the suffering, repression and exploitation of others. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, and we of Andoran will take up arms to protect that right.
