In Lost Omens World Guide, p. 87, under the description of Kibwe the Adayenki is mentioned. In previous PF1 materials, the spelling has sometimes been Adayeniki (https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Kibwe).

Since I am working on the Italian translation: what should I consider as the correct spelling? Thanks!

Beastmaster or familiar master dedications

Well, that was exactly what we were looking for. We did not have the chance to take a look at the Advanced Player's Guide yet!

Thanks!

Hello everyone!
One of my players, who is playing a rogue, has found a crow, made it helpflul and now wants to create some kind of bond with it, making it his familiar or animal companion.
Is there any feat, or chain of feats, that would allow him to do so? He is willing to tap into any archetype, if needed.

Thanks!

Thanks Luis!

Hey everyone,
is the spell skin of thorns from Lost Omens World Guide p. 42, Fey Bargain sidebox, an existing spell in the game?
What was it supposed to stand for?

Thank you!

Something I'm trying to do more of these days is find ways for my players characters to have more connections to NPC's and places in the AP before we even start session 1.

Player wants to have grown up in a gang and there is a gang war in Chapter 3? Perfect, he has a past connection to one of the gangs.

I do that all the time too, but lately I have been wondering whether I should be the one to change the adventure more significantly instead.

Hi everyone!
I am curious about how everyone prepares to run an Adventure Path. I usually read all the six volumes in advance, and then reread the relevant information for the next session as we play.
What's your method? And how long does it take for you to read an installment? It usually takes me about 6 to 7 hours, because I usually take notes while I read.
Another curiosity of mine: we all modify APs to better suit our players and encourage our players to create characters thematically suited for the AP to a certain extent. Do you tend more toward the former or the latter? Example: do you prefer your players coming to session 0 with character concepts already in their minds, or would you rather have them form their concept based on the themes of the adventure as detailed, for instance, in the player's guide?

Hey guys, I'm very sorry to say so, but I have to bow out of this game. My workload has just grown increasingly time consuming, and I don't want to keep you waiting for me everytime. In the end, I should have not accepted the offer to restart the campaign. I had joined several other campaigns in the meanwhile and I should have known that I couldn't manage to add another one. But I was hoping to do it, until my work became hectic.

I hope you will have fun and I wish you all the best. I'm sure that in the future we will get to play together again!

Is it over? This soon?

Varian analyzes the situation for a moment, then decides not to trust his sense and continue the attack.

He moves closer between Avrora and Darian and tries to distract the beast in view of Avrora's next attack. "Now, Avrora!"

Avrora will have a +2 bonus to her next attack roll, provided there will be one!

Guess that leaves Isabel as a recruiter... which I find a bit difficult given her background, which is much more about watching people than anything else. I can try though.

I don't know if that could help, but perhaps we could try to put up a roleplaying scene in which Varian and Isable talk about this particular topic. Varian would suggest her that if you want to do the good of the people, you can't limit yourself to watch them. That could motivate Isabel's attempt at being a recruiter, at least from a roleplaying point of view. As long as flavor is concerned, though, I could see Varian and Isabel frequently exchanging their roles. Sometimes Varian will give inspirational speeches to the crowd, but sometimes he will leave the stage for Isabel while he recruits more people for the cause of the Silver Ravens. Do you think that this would help?

Varian didn't follow the others, preferring to swing by his home in order to make himself presentable. After taking a relaxing bath and shaving his beard, Varian wears the finest clothes he has and joins his companions.

As soon as he arrives, he throws a small smile at his friends and seats next to them. "Hey, sorry for the delay, folks. How are things here?" Realizing that the others were already engaged in deep conversations, Varian hunches. "Would anyone mind to let me know the topic of the conversation?"

Hey guys, I've taken a look at the rules for managing the Silver Ravens and the rebellion sheet. What follows is what I think about it, but keep in mind that I always prefer flavor over mechanical functionality.

I think that we should create a balanced group. Having to choose one focus, I would say Loyalty. But we should try to balance things using teams and other bonuses.

As for Varian's role in the group, I'd like to go with Demagogue. I know that, mechanically speaking, he's not the best one for the role, but Demagogue is just what Varian is according to his background and his character concept.

Hey guys, as you may have noticed, I'm struggling a bit in adapting to the flow of this campaign. I'm a somehow routine PbP player, meaning that I have some difficulties in finding the time to post in a campaign if the posting rate isn't consistent and I know, e.g., that I need to post 1/day every day. Since our rate seems to be very unstable, I'm finding it very hard to find a suitable spot in my routine to post, because when I try and find a good time to post, there's no need to post in the following day.

Are we planning on settling for a stable posting rate or will it keep changing? I say this because if we don't settle for a stable posting rate, I'm not sure I'd be able to keep up with the campaign consistently, for the reasons explained above.

Varian is not definitely the shy type, and when Isabel proposes her mischievous idea, the Chelaxian man grins back at her. From the look on his face, it’s very clear that Varian thinks himself to be a handsome man, or at least he’s enough confident in his appearance. Something which he makes very clear by the care he takes in using cologne and always wearing his hair clean and his face shaven. No blush appears on Varian’s face at Isabel’s suggestion. The Chelaxian man just nods and looks at Avrora. “Not a problem for me, mila…” Anyway, as Avrora struggles with her words while she tries to describe his appearance, Varian realizes that although Avrora wouldn’t be the first naked woman his eyes has ever seen, most likely the same can’t be said about the girl.

Varian cares for Avrora. And when he realizes the girl is somehow in difficulty, Varian bursts into a laughter in order to make her feel more comfortable and to break the tension. “You’re right, milady”, says Varian to Avrora with a smile, showing all of his confidence and calm. “You should not get nervous at that. We’re brothers in arms, milady, comrades in this battle. There’s no place for shyness among us”. Varian pats Avrora on the should and smiles at her again. Since he met her for the very first time, Varian had tried to instill confidence in that young rose. “Anyway, you’re right, milady. Your armor wouldn’t fit me”.

Before leaving the place, Varian takes some time to analyze all the items they’ve found. In particular, his attention is allured by the six silver ravens found in the last crate. Varian’s face gets very serious. “This is a sign, my friend. Milani has sent a sign to us. Six ravens for six liberators. Here, each of us should take one. The Eternal Rose smiles on us, my friends”, Varian says with emotion as he hands out one raven to each of his friends. “Silver is sacred. It is a symbol of purity, the only metal able to pierce the defenses of devils. And the ravens…” Varian suddenly stops speaking and starts praying aloud.

O’ Milani, blessed be your subtle signs and your guidance. Thank you for this sign. You teach us to rebel against everything unjust in this world. You teach us to care for those we love, even at the cost of risking our lives in the process. O’ Eternal Rose, keep smiling on us”.

Varian glances at Avrora. “What do you think about it, milady?” The man then walks closer to Avrora and fixes the silver raven on her left pectoral. “You look good with this. The Lady smiles on you” Then he turns to the others. “You all look great with these ravens.” Varian puts the silver raven on his left chest as well. “Now, are we ready to go?

"Something is not right with this place. May Milani blessing descend upon us..." Varian's eyes dart around repeatedly, in order to catch any possible clue of something interesting. "Look! There are three small crates over there...They seem intact...And look at that section of the room. It seems dry, and less exposed to the ravages of time", Varian's voice echoes through the room. "I'll take a look".

Varian walks to the crates and looks behind them. "Here, come, quick! There's a nest behind these crates...It seems to have been used by something very small. The size of a grimple, more or less. What does this mean?"

Varian steps away from the murky water and positions himself in front of the lemure with a quick move. Then he tries to bring down his morning star on the devil, well aware that it won't probably have any appreciable effect but irrationally believing that he will be able to make a difference due to his inner faith.

Varian's eyes go wide when Galen admits the common, and negative stereotype about his people. Shaking his head, the Chelaxian man gives the Varisian an intense look. "You realize that what you just said makes you a thief, don't you? I suppose I should keep my eyes on my pouch then". Varian sketches a laugh, then nods to Avrora. "I agree. These are just stereotypes, we should stop thinking among these lines. We're...We're better than that. Anyway, as long as we're using these assumptions to reach a shared end, I'm in. Varian stays silent for most of the conversation with the grimples, but when their ambassador asks for a crying baby, the Chelish man frowns and puts his hand to his morning star. He then relaxes his hold on the weapon when the ambassador gives up on that request. "Does the boss of this place treat you well? I ask only because we could talk him into treating you better, just in case." The Chelish, hence arrogant, part of Varian tells him not to come to terms with miserable, unreliable creatures such as grimples, but then his common sense prevails and the cleric nods to the strange beings while whispering a prayer he learned from a member of the Silver Dragons whose parents were from Oppara, the Gilded City.

Varian casts enhanced diplomacy on himself.

"My friend here is quite right. We can provide you with food for years and with all the blankets you might need. Deal?" Despite his intentions, Varian's words betray his nuisance at dealing with such despicable creatures and his hurry to quickly find a solution to move on with the exploration.

"In the name of Milani, those filthy rats were tough beyond any imagination...", Varian says with a grin, wiping his robes from dust and blood. "Tsk, they're useless now, anyway". Shrugging, the Chelaxian man takes of his robe, revealing a red and black jacket trimmered with gold. The colors of Hell...But I couldn't resist the temptation.

Varian pats Avrora's shoulder in turn when she passes close to him. "Well fought, although they were only rats." Varian smiles at the girl, happy to see he unharmed. The hidden priest then examines the door leading out of the room along with the others, and gives a quizzical look at the symbols appearing on it. “Mmmh…I wonder what that means…

Unable to unveil the meaning of the strange phenomena on the door, Varian resorts to his divine magic and tries to analyze the door for any magic aura it may have.

The hidden priest immediately positions himself next to Darian. “This definitely is the haunt…Stand ready!” Holding his morning star tight, Varian looks around frantically, waiting for the next, inevitable supernatural sign to manifest.

While he waits, Varian shakes his head in response to Isabel’s comment. “I don’t think someone is playing tricks on us…unless if by ‘someone’ you mean a haunt…

Hey GM, if possible I'd like to interrupt the casting of the spell before summoning the monster. I don't know if that would allow Varian not to lose his spell, but if possible, I'd rather start over again with his actions entirely, undoung Varian's actions in the previous round.

"Watch out, cousin!" Varian grits his teeth and tightens the grip on his morning star. For a split second, he's on the fence about which rat to attack, then his eyes fall upon the rat near to Darian. "Here I come! Varian sprints forward, moves past Avrora and tries to bring down his weapon on the filthy creature. "Die, filthy pest!"

Hey guys, I need a little more time to work on Varian before I can actually post. I wish to change his build to make him more focused on casting, but between Sir Longears bowing out of PbP (I need to replace him in my CoT game) and a lecture I held in Bologna last week, I have not had the time to do so yet. GM, would you allow me to post actions in combat while I work on Varian's crunch? This might mean that at the end of combat Varian stats would change slightly.

Don't rush it GM, take your time. We have waited for months, we can easily wait for another week!

GM, do you have an approximate idea of when we will be starting the game again?

As currently built Isabel is looking to maximise bluff and diplomacy. Since its been a long time would this be treading on anyone elses toes? We're a cha heavy party and I don't want to take anyone else's niche.

As for Diplomacy, perhaps mine, since I planned for Varian to be very effective in Diplomacy attempts, but as long as we won't be metagaming, that is, allowing only the character with the highest modifier to attempt any single skill check, it's fine for me.

Thank you for the help, GM, I managed to add this campaign back to my list.

Are you OK with me making some changes to Varian's character sheet? A few useful handbooks came out in the meanwhile, and I think they could come quite in handy to his build.

And here we are again! Ready to fight for Kintargo?

Hey everyone, nice to see you again! It's been a long time! Everything's fine for you, I hope.

Someone can explain me why the campaign does not show in my campaigns list?

Hey everyone, Giuseppe here. Just like the others, I've always thought this game to have a huge potential. Roleplaying was fun, and the overall quantity of daily posts from the players was more than acceptable. I still remember the roleplaying recruitment with the scene between Varian and Avrora. I'd like to see this game starting over again!

As for the optional rules, I don't care for them at all. Rules are not what makes a PbP game a good game. It's instead posting consistency on both the GM and the players' part.

Hey, Baolus, well met!

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be incredibly busy in the next two weeks, since I'm preparing for a PhD exam. Most likely, I won't be able to post regularly before April, the 12th. Please feel free to bot Varian as needed.

I wish you all the best GM. Yours has been a great game so far, and the fact that everyone here appears to be willing to wait for you to solve your RL issues (myself included) clearly testifies it. Good luck!

Varian's confidence is not shattered by the rats' attacks. "C'mon! We can do it! These are just rats!" And we can't hope to free our city if we are not able to fight some disease-carrying rats!

Clenching his teeth, Varian tightens the grip on his morning star but in the end he decides that he would be better finding another way to fight his foes. Maybe a summoned creatures will do "Hang in there, reinforcements are coming" he cries out as he steps back and starts conjuring.

"Damn! Watch out everyone, we have company down here!" Varian shouts in pain as the dire rats hits him, but he quickly retaliates against the one in front of him, drawing his morning star and swinging furiously.
