About Torra Murray

Torra grew up in the Five Kings' Mountains with her only surviving family: a brother whom she loved dearly. The two would get into many scrapes and fights with the other villagers of their small hillside village which provided lumber for the tunnels below the mountain. The two of them were inseparable, until one day when tragedy struck. A contingent of giants invaded the town, slaughtering most of the villagers. Torra was able to escape, but her brother had perished. She left that day for the plains of Druma, picking up work where she could as a woodcutter for aristocrats throughout the land.

One afternoon, she spotted a small snapping turtle in the forest, surrounded by divine light. She watched as it protected itself in its shell, much like she had done with her grief over her brother's death and her inability to shield him from the giants' rage. She began hunting and going on adventures with that small turtle whenever she would finish work. Truddig the Turtle, named for her brother, was an excellent companion. She saw that the aristocrats who she worked for could more evenly promote protection for small villages like her own if they were united. With Abadar's felt presence, she eventually decided to hang up her woodaxe for a waraxe, and make her way to Absalom to join the Pathfinder Society.
