About Tokas

Tokas was born to a large family in a small dwarven mining village that included 7 brothers. Fighting with his siblings was a daily occurrence in his life which built his character and thirst for battle. When he got older he initially started to work in the mines but his volatile attitude with his coworkers caused him to be fired from the mines so he became a vagrant and wandered town to town fighting in various crucibles and drinking heavily from local taverns to feed his thirst for combat and drinking.

When he was in one of the towns fighting in the crucibles he was invited by the Golden Blade guild to join their guild and fight for more coin he was getting fighting in the pits along with discounted prices for drinks in their bar. He gladly agreed and found great work in slaying various beasts and warriors. In fact he developed pleasure in taking the lives of any opponent he came across. Unfortunately his thirst for blood became too much for his guild to contain and they expelled him from the guild after he crippled a member after a disagreement over splitting the purse after a quest.

After he left the guild he resumed his tour of taverns and crucibles but this time he fought with greater anger and took pleasure in manhandling his opponents until one day he went too far after a bout at a local tournament. An inexperienced female halfling monk angered by the permanent maiming of her husband at the hands of the dwarf attacked him. Tokas, unfortunately, took no sympathy on her and battered her until she died in front of her children and elderly parents even though he could have ended things much sooner just to feed his addiction to violence not really thinking of the consequences of his actions. When he saw the eyes of her kids as they gazed upon their dead mother he felt instant remorse for his actions and surrendered himself to the authorities who arrested him for murder willing to waste his life in a cell or have his neck chopped off by the executioner's blade. Fate, however, smiled kindly on him and gave him a second chance when a cleric from the local Temple of Shelyn claiming to represent the family of the halfling he killed offering him forgiveness in exchange for him promising to walk on the right path and to do whatever the family and the church asked of him. Tokas reluctantly accepted the deal as half of him was more than willing to end his life for what he had done.
