Just a warning about the advice section: You might post, "Help me make a first level character", but many people will read, "Help me make the most powerful first level character EVER!"

You might also hear how this or that class is "unplayable" or one option is "required" and all kinds of absolute statements - almost all of these can be safely ignored. Some options are more powerful then others, but in general the rules system is pretty good, and most of the issues people have appear in the later stages of the game (the teen levels) if at all.

Build a well balanced character with decent defenses, and you can have fun in any adventure.

I just posted some Tokas's character details and I don't think I have the worst character ever (the backstory might need some work).

You could just start a new thread in the Advice board, and put something like "1st ever character" in the subject line. You'll have to get all the data entered into the right places first, though. You know how to make a character as an alias?

Once you get that set up and posted, you'll get all kinds of helpful, and probably all kinds of not helpful, advice. :)

I just figured out how to make an Alias.

I will scan the advice board and see what's going on over there before I figure out where I post my character information.

IF you use the Beginners box and follow the guidelines presented there for character creation, there should be no problems at all. These guidelines have been created exactly for this situation.

I've been using that so far as a guideline so hopefully I'm good.
