PF2E:Remaster question - can sneak attack be disabled by the character?
Case: I have a rogue. An ally got confused. Being confused causes off-guard condition. I wanted to smack my ally to try and break the confuse. Everything I had was applied sneak attack: shortsword, sap, scythe, bite, unarmed attack, shortbow. Rules at written is seems like I have to apply sneak attack. Is there anything in rules where I can decline to apply sneak attack (besides GM discretion)?
My argument is that if my rogue has the expertise to take advantage of weak spots, that he could purposefully hit a non-weak spot. This was to reduce the damage done to my ally. Or is this a "Oh no! I don't know how to not stab this person! What will I do?!" situation?
